WHY LEARN SEMRUSH?

Because Semrush can transform guesswork SEO into a data-driven strategy. Instead of wondering why you’re not ranking, you’ll know exactly what’s blocking you and how to fix it.

Most people struggle with SEO because they lack visibility. They don’t know which keywords to target, why competitors rank better, or what technical issues are killing their rankings. Semrush gives you that visibility, but only if you know how to read the data correctly.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL MASTER:

  • Analyze any domain like a pro: You’ll run complete domain analyses, understand organic traffic sources, identify top-performing pages, and spot ranking opportunities your competitors are missing.
  • Find the right keywords: You’ll use Keyword Magic Tool and Keyword Gap to find high-potential keywords with realistic difficulty scores, analyze search intent, and build topic clusters that actually rank.
  • Audit your site for SEO issues: You’ll run Site Audits to detect technical problems (broken links, crawl errors, speed issues), prioritize fixes based on impact, and track improvements over time.
  • Track your rankings in real-time: You’ll set up Position Tracking to monitor your keyword rankings daily, compare yourself to competitors, and measure the impact of your SEO actions.
  • Spy on competitor strategies: You’ll use Traffic Analytics and Backlink Analytics to understand what’s working for competitors, reverse-engineer their content strategy, and identify link-building opportunities.

Whether you’re starting from scratch with SEO or working with an AI SEO agency approach, or have already played with Semrush without really exploiting it, we’ll give you the right reflexes to turn data into rankings and traffic.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN OUR SEMRUSH TRAINING

MODULE 1: SEMRUSH FUNDAMENTALS

We start at the beginning: create your account, understand the dashboard, and navigate the main features without getting lost. You’ll learn to run your first domain overview, interpret key metrics (organic traffic, backlinks, Domain Authority), and understand what each Semrush tool does (and when to use it). We’ll also cover how to set up your first project, configure tracking parameters, and connect Google Analytics and Search Console for richer data. At the end of this module, you know where everything is in Semrush and can run basic analyses without feeling overwhelmed by the interface.

MODULE 2: KEYWORD RESEARCH THAT ACTUALLY WORKS

You’ll master Semrush’s keyword research tools to find opportunities that are actually rankable. We’ll use Keyword Magic Tool to generate keyword ideas, filter by search volume and keyword difficulty, analyze search intent (informational vs transactional), and build thematic keyword clusters. You’ll learn to use Keyword Gap to identify keywords your competitors rank for (but you don’t), spot quick wins with low competition, and prioritize keywords based on real business value. We’ll also see how to analyze SERP features (featured snippets, People Also Ask) to understand what type of content Google wants for each query. At the end of this module, you have a prioritized keyword list ready to execute, not just a random spreadsheet of search terms.

MODULE 3: TECHNICAL SEO AUDIT

You’ll learn to run complete Site Audits to identify and fix technical issues that hurt your rankings. We’ll configure Site Audit properly, understand the different error types (critical vs warnings), and prioritize fixes based on impact. You’ll spot crawl errors, broken links, duplicate content, missing meta tags, and page speed issues. You’ll also learn to track Core Web Vitals, analyze internal linking structure, and generate actionable reports for developers or clients. We’ll see how to schedule automatic audits, monitor improvements over time, and use Site Audit data to clean up your technical SEO systematically. At the end of this module, you can audit any site and create a clear technical SEO roadmap with concrete fixes.

MODULE 4: COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

You’ll become a pro at competitor analysis to understand what’s working in your niche and replicate success. We’ll use Domain Overview to analyze competitor traffic sources, identify their top-performing pages, and understand their organic vs paid strategy. You’ll use Backlink Analytics to see who’s linking to them (and target those sites for your own link building). You’ll learn to compare multiple competitors side-by-side, identify content gaps in your strategy, and spot trending topics in your industry before they become saturated. This complements well with our growth hacking agency approach to SEO. We’ll also see how to use Traffic Analytics to estimate competitor traffic, understand their audience demographics, and benchmark your performance against theirs. At the end of this module, you know exactly what your competitors are doing and have a clear action plan to outrank them.

MODULE 5: RANK TRACKING AND REPORTING

You’ll set up Position Tracking to monitor your rankings and measure SEO impact over time. We’ll configure tracking campaigns for your priority keywords, set up competitor tracking, and analyze ranking changes to understand what’s working (and what’s not). You’ll learn to track local rankings, mobile vs desktop performance, and featured snippet opportunities. You’ll also master custom reports to communicate SEO results to clients or stakeholders, automate report delivery, and visualize progress with clear dashboards. We’ll see how to connect Semrush data with Google Data Studio for advanced reporting and track ROI by linking rankings to actual traffic and conversions. At the end of this module, you have a complete tracking system and can prove the value of your SEO work with clear metrics.

MODULE 6: ADVANCED WORKFLOWS AND INTEGRATIONS

You’ll learn to integrate Semrush into your marketing stack and automate repetitive tasks. We’ll connect Semrush with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google My Business for enriched data. You’ll use the Semrush API to extract data programmatically and feed it into your tools like Airtable, Notion, or custom dashboards. You’ll also learn to build SEO content briefs using Semrush data, create automated alerts for ranking changes, and set up workflows to monitor brand mentions and backlink opportunities. For more advanced automation, consider our Make training or n8n training. We’ll see real use cases: agencies managing 20+ client projects, e-commerce sites tracking thousands of product pages, and SaaS companies monitoring competitive landscapes. At the end of this module, Semrush becomes your central SEO hub connected to your entire workflow, not just another tool you check occasionally.

WHY TRAIN IN SEMRUSH WITH HACK’CELERATION?

AN AGENCY THAT USES SEMRUSH FOR CLIENTS EVERY DAY

At Hack’celeration, we don’t just do training. We’re first and foremost an agency that uses Semrush (and many other tools) for clients every day. Our expertise: not just Semrush, but the whole digital marketing stack (HubSpot, Airtable, Make, Google Analytics, Search Console, and dozens of other tools). We work with SMEs launching their SEO strategy, startups fighting for visibility in competitive niches, and established companies managing complex multi-market SEO campaigns.

We’ve used Semrush to audit sites with 100k+ pages and prioritize technical fixes, build keyword strategies for e-commerce sites competing against Amazon, analyze competitors in 15+ countries to identify market entry opportunities, and track rankings for SaaS companies measuring SEO ROI down to the dollar.

We understand field issues: limited budgets requiring smart keyword selection, technical debt blocking crawlability, clients wanting quick wins before long-term strategy, and reporting that actually shows business impact instead of vanity metrics.

Our training doesn’t skim features. We give you a field-tested method, ready-to-use templates (audit checklists, keyword research frameworks, competitor analysis sheets), and advice from real projects where we’ve moved the needle on rankings and traffic.

You learn with trainers who have analyzed hundreds of domains with Semrush, built SEO strategies that generated real traffic growth, and know exactly which metrics matter (and which ones don’t).

FAQ – EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT OUR SEMRUSH TRAINING

Is it really free?

Yes. You're among the first to benefit from the program as a preview. No hidden fees, no commitment. Just full access to 6 modules, replays, and support from our experts who use Semrush daily for client projects.

6 weeks. You progress at your own pace with 2-hour self-paced training blocks (videos, exercises, templates). Plus 1 weekly 1-hour group session to ask questions and work on practical cases with our trainers who'll help you analyze your actual domain or competitors.

Both. Training content is recorded so you can progress when you want. Weekly Q&A sessions are live to work on your specific SEO challenges, but also recorded if you miss a session or want to review later.

Registration form on this page. Once registered, you receive a confirmation email with platform access, session schedule, and first content to get started. You'll also get access to our Semrush template library (keyword research frameworks, audit checklists, competitor analysis sheets).

Not mandatory to start. Semrush offers a 7-day free trial which covers the first modules. We'll show you how to maximize the trial period. After that, you'll need a subscription to continue practicing, but you'll know exactly which plan fits your needs based on what you've learned.

Choose Semrush if you want an all-in-one SEO platform with strong keyword research and site audit features. Semrush excels at competitive analysis, has better keyword grouping tools, and includes PPC and social media features. Ahrefs has a slightly better backlink database but is more focused purely on SEO. For most marketers managing multiple aspects (SEO, content, PPC), Semrush offers better versatility. We compare both tools in detail during the training.

Absolutely. Semrush can feel overwhelming at first because it has so many features, but that's exactly why this training exists. We start from scratch, explain SEO concepts as we go, and focus on the features that matter most for beginners (keyword research, site audit, rank tracking). You don't need prior SEO knowledge, just curiosity and willingness to learn.

Yes. Semrush has strong local SEO features: local keyword tracking, Google My Business integration, citation tracking, and local SERP analysis. We cover local SEO strategies in Module 5 when setting up Position Tracking, and show you how to track rankings by city or region, analyze local competitors, and optimize for local search intent.

Definitely. Semrush connects natively with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google My Business. You can also use the Semrush API to pull data into Airtable, Google Sheets, or custom dashboards. We cover integrations in Module 6, including how to automate SEO reporting, connect Semrush to Make or Zapier for workflows, and feed data into your marketing stack.

Keyword difficulty in Semrush is a 0-100 score estimating ranking difficulty based on backlinks of top results. But the score alone doesn't tell the full story. We teach you to cross-reference keyword difficulty with your Domain Authority, analyze SERP features (featured snippets change the game), check if top results are actually strong or just old domains, and assess search intent match. Module 2 covers this in depth with real examples.
