AIRTABLE TRAINING: CREATE DATABASES THAT ACTUALLY WORK

Hack’celeration offers Airtable training to help you build databases that do what you need, without getting lost in complexity. You’ll learn to create relational bases, master formulas and lookups, automate your workflows, and connect Airtable to your stack.

We’ll see how to structure your data like in Bubble, create views that make sense for each team, use formulas (IF, CONCATENATE, ROLLUP) to automate calculations, set up native automations, and integrate Airtable with your tools (Make, Zapier, API). You’ll also learn to design interfaces and build apps directly from your bases.

Whether you’re starting from scratch or already have messy bases, this Airtable training works for you. We work with entrepreneurs, project managers, ops teams, and anyone who needs to organize data without hiring developers.

Our approach is 100% practical. No endless theory. You build real bases, we give you templates, and you leave with complete autonomy to manage your databases.

Airtable Training: Video showing an Airtable database scrolling through multiple records and fields, produced by Hack'celeration as part of our Airtable training. We see how data is organized in a clean grid view, with linked records connecting different tables, custom fields, and filtering options. This demonstrates how Airtable lets you structure complex information while keeping it readable and actionable.

WHY LEARN AIRTABLE?

Because Airtable can transform scattered spreadsheets and messy Google Sheets into structured databases that actually scale with your business.

Most people start with Excel or Sheets, then hit a wall when they need to connect data, automate updates, or give different teams their own views. That’s where Airtable shines. But jumping in without structure creates bases that break as they grow.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL MASTER:

  • Build relational databases → You’ll learn to create tables, connect them with linked records, and structure your data so it scales without becoming chaos.
  • Master formulas and lookups → You’ll use formulas (IF, CONCATENATE, ROLLUP) to automate calculations, create dynamic fields, and pull data across tables with lookups.
  • Create custom views → You’ll set up views (grid, gallery, kanban, calendar) for each team, with filters and sorting that show exactly what people need to see.
  • Automate your workflows → You’ll build native automations to update records, send notifications, and trigger actions based on specific conditions.
  • Integrate with your stack → You’ll connect Airtable to Make, Zapier, or directly via API to automate data flow between your tools.

Whether you’re managing a CRM, tracking inventory, or running operations, you’ll have the right reflexes to build databases that actually work for your team.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN OUR AIRTABLE TRAINING

MODULE 1: AIRTABLE BASICS

We start at the beginning. You create your first workspace, understand the interface, and learn how Airtable thinks.

You’ll set up your account, create your first base, and understand field types (single line text, number, checkbox, date, etc.). We’ll show you the difference between Airtable and a spreadsheet.

You’ll learn to add records, edit fields, and navigate the interface without getting lost. We’ll also cover base templates and when to use them versus building from scratch.

At the end of this module, you know how to create a basic base and understand the foundation. You’re ready to build something real.

MODULE 2: CREATE RELATIONAL DATABASES

This is where Airtable becomes powerful. You learn to connect tables with linked records and structure data relationally.

You’ll create multiple tables in one base, link records between tables, and understand one-to-many and many-to-many relationships. We’ll show you when to split data into separate tables versus keeping it in one.

You’ll practice with real examples: a CRM connecting contacts to companies and deals, or a project management system linking tasks to projects and team members.

You’ll also learn to use the expand record view to see all linked data in one place.

At the end of this module, you can structure complex data without creating a mess. Your bases are clean and scalable.

MODULE 3: MASTER FORMULAS AND LOOKUPS

You learn to make Airtable do calculations and pull data automatically. This is where your bases become smart.

You’ll master formula fields with IF statements, CONCATENATE to combine text, AND/OR logic, and date calculations. We’ll show you the most useful formulas for real projects.

You’ll set up lookup fields to pull data from linked records, and rollup fields to aggregate numbers (SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT) across relationships.

We’ll work through practical cases: calculating deal values in a CRM, tracking inventory levels with automatic alerts, or computing project budgets from task estimates.

At the end of this module, your bases calculate automatically. You stop manually updating numbers.

MODULE 4: VIEWS AND FILTERS

You learn to create custom views so each team sees exactly what they need. No more scrolling through irrelevant data.

You’ll set up grid views with specific columns, gallery views for visual content, kanban boards for pipeline management, and calendar views for time-based data.

You’ll master filters to show only relevant records, sorting to organize data, and grouping to create sections. We’ll show you how to combine these for powerful custom views.

You’ll also learn to use hide fields, freeze columns, and adjust row height for better readability.

At the end of this module, everyone on your team has their own view. Sales sees their pipeline, support sees open tickets, ops sees what needs action.

MODULE 5: AUTOMATIONS AND INTEGRATIONS

You learn to make Airtable work with your other tools. This is where you stop copy-pasting data between systems.

You’ll build native Airtable automations with triggers (when a record enters a view, when a field changes) and actions (update records, send emails, create records). We’ll show you real automation sequences.

You’ll connect Airtable to Make or Zapier to sync data with other tools. We’ll also introduce the Airtable API for custom integrations.

We’ll work through practical cases: auto-updating CRM records when deals close, sending notifications when inventory hits thresholds, or creating tasks in project management tools from Airtable.

At the end of this module, your bases talk to your stack. Data flows automatically.

MODULE 6: REAL-WORLD CASES AND INTERFACES

You apply everything by building complete systems and creating custom interfaces for your team.

We’ll build together: a full CRM with companies, contacts, and deals; an inventory management system with suppliers and orders; or an operations dashboard with KPI tracking.

You’ll learn to design Airtable interfaces to create custom apps from your bases, with forms, record pickers, and buttons for specific actions.

We’ll cover best practices: when to split bases, how to optimize performance with large datasets, and common mistakes that break bases as they scale.

At the end of this module, you have real systems running. You know how to build, maintain, and scale Airtable bases for any use case.

Yes. You're among the first to benefit from the program as a preview. No hidden fees, no commitment. Just full access to 6 modules, replays, and support from our experts.

6 weeks. You progress at your own pace with 2-hour self-paced training blocks (videos, exercises, templates). Plus 1 weekly 1-hour group session to ask questions and work on practical cases with our trainers.

Both. Training content is recorded so you can progress when you want. Weekly Q&A sessions are live, but also recorded if you miss a session.

Registration form on this page. Once registered, you receive a confirmation email with platform access, session schedule, and first content to get started.

No. Airtable is designed for non-technical people. If you can use Excel or Google Sheets, you can learn Airtable. We start from scratch and explain everything. The only requirement is being comfortable with basic computer use. Formulas and automations look scary at first, but we break them down step by step.

Use Airtable when you need structured databases with calculations, rollups, and complex relationships between data. Use Notion for documentation, wikis, and flexible note-taking. Airtable is better for CRMs, inventory, operations tracking, and anything requiring data analysis. Notion is better for knowledge management and project docs. Many teams use both: Airtable for data, Notion for documentation.

Absolutely. Airtable integrates natively with Make, Zapier, and thousands of apps. You can sync data between Airtable and your CRM, send Slack notifications when records update, create tasks in project tools, or trigger emails via Postmark. We cover these integrations in Module 5 and show you how to build reliable automations.

Yes. Airtable works great for custom CRMs, especially for SMEs and startups. You can track companies, contacts, deals, and activities with full customization. It's more flexible than off-the-shelf CRMs and cheaper than Salesforce. Limitations: no native email tracking or built-in calling. But you can integrate with other tools to add these features.

Yes. Airtable has a CSV import feature that brings in Google Sheets data. But migration isn't just import. You need to restructure data relationally, set up proper field types, and create linked records. We show you exactly how to migrate in Module 2, including common pitfalls like losing formulas or breaking data relationships during transfer.

You have support. Weekly live Q&A sessions let you ask questions directly to our trainers. You can also post questions in the community space, and we respond within 24 hours. If you're really blocked, we can schedule a quick call to unblock you. The goal is for you to finish with working bases, not get stuck halfway.
