Overview

What changes when your meetings pile up

Circleback already records and summarizes your meetings. The connector lets Claude search that memory while it answers: who said what, which call covered a topic, what the next event with a client looks like. You ask in plain words, and Claude quotes back the passage with its timestamp.

Find the moment a decision was made. A product manager remembers that pricing came up in some call last month. SearchTranscripts finds every mention across transcripts, with timestamps, and GetTranscriptsForMeetings pulls the full text of the right one.

Prepare a follow-up call. Before meeting an account again, SearchMeetings lists past meetings with that domain, ReadMeetings brings back notes, attendees and action items, and FindProfiles shows each person's interaction history.

Line up the week. SearchCalendarEvents covers upcoming and past events, and SearchEmails searches threads in the email accounts connected to Circleback.

Now what the connector does not do. By default its directory sheet exposes reading only; Circleback documents extra tools for action items and tags, but they are not on the sheet Claude shows, so this page does not count them. It also reaches only mailboxes connected inside Circleback, not every inbox you own. Nothing runs by itself either: for a recap sent after each call, an automation tool does that job, and the Circleback Make integration page covers it.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary in one minute

Five words you will meet while plugging Circleback into Claude.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already own, so Claude can work in it while answering you.
Tool
One named action a connector opens to Claude. Claude picks the ones it needs by itself; the directory lists each by name.
Authorization
The sign-in screen of the service itself, where you hand Claude its access. Granted once per person, and you can take it back.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes through with something that changes your account, shown right in the chat.
MCP
The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant such as Claude talk to an outside service.
Connect

Plug Circleback into Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Circleback in Claude

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Circleback in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to switch the connector on first so each member can sign in.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on its row, then sign in to Circleback in the window that Circleback opens itself. If the link ever breaks later on, use Disconnect and then plug it back in.

  3. 03

    Read the authorization screen

Read the authorization screen before you accept. It belongs to Circleback, not to Claude, and it is what decides what the access covers. You can also withdraw that access later from your Circleback account.

Tools

The 9 tools, sorted by what they do

Circleback gives Claude 9 tools: 8 that read your account, 0 that change something in it, and 1 no official source describes.

Two groups: what Claude reads, and the one name nothing describes. Tool names stay exactly as Claude shows them.

What Claude reads (8)

8 tools

Eight tools that search or read meeting data without touching it.

SearchMeetings

Finds meetings by keyword, date range, tag, attendee or company domain, which gives Claude the right call before it opens anything.

When it helps
you need every meeting held with one client domain this quarter.
Watch out
it returns a list of meetings; notes and action items come from a second lookup.

Sourcecircleback.ai · September 30, 2026 ↗

SearchTranscripts

Looks across all your meeting transcripts for the place where something was said, and returns each match with its timestamp in the recording.

When it helps
a manager wants the exact moment a deadline was agreed during a long review.
Watch out
it points to passages, not to the full conversation around them.

Sourcecircleback.ai · September 30, 2026 ↗

GetTranscriptsForMeetings

Pulls the complete transcript of one or several meetings, with speaker labels and timestamps, so Claude can quote or summarize the real exchange.

When it helps
a recruiter compares what two candidates said in their interviews.
Watch out
long meetings produce long texts, so asking for a few at a time keeps answers readable.

Sourcecircleback.ai · September 30, 2026 ↗

ReadMeetings

Brings back the detail of chosen meetings: notes, attendees, action items, insights, tags and duration, in one pass per meeting.

When it helps
the day after a workshop, you want the list of action items without replaying it.
Watch out
it reads what Circleback stored; a meeting that was never recorded has nothing to return.

Sourcecircleback.ai · September 30, 2026 ↗

FindProfiles

Looks up people by name and shows their profile along with their interaction history across your meetings.

When it helps
someone joins a call you run tomorrow and you want to recall your past exchanges with them.
Watch out
the search works by name, so two people sharing a name may both come back.

Sourcecircleback.ai · September 30, 2026 ↗

SearchCalendarEvents

Searches your upcoming and past calendar events, including attendees, meeting links and whether Circleback is set to join.

When it helps
on Monday morning you ask which of this week's client calls have no recording planned.
Watch out
it covers the calendar connected to Circleback, not every calendar you use.

Sourcecircleback.ai · September 30, 2026 ↗

SearchEmails

Searches email threads by keyword, sender, recipient or date range, inside the mail accounts you connected to Circleback.

When it helps
you want the thread that followed a meeting to check what was promised afterwards.
Watch out
inboxes not connected in Circleback stay invisible to this search.

Sourcecircleback.ai · September 30, 2026 ↗

SearchSupportArticles

Searches Circleback's own help documentation for how-to guides, so Claude can answer a question about the product itself.

When it helps
a new teammate asks how to tag meetings and you would rather not dig through the help center.
Watch out
it covers public help content, not your meeting data.

Not documented (1)

1 tool

The directory publishes this name and nothing else. No official text says what it does, and this page will not guess from a name.

FindDomains

This name appears in the directory's tool list, and that is all anyone has published about it. Circleback's documentation describes a similarly named company lookup, but not this exact tool, so no source tells us what it does.

Watch out
whatever it does, the general approvals rule covers it.
Approvals

What Claude asks before it acts

By default, Claude stops and asks you before any action it takes on an account on your behalf. The request shows up in the conversation, at the moment it matters.

On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without being asked every time. They can also limit what a connector may do for the whole organization, for instance keeping reading open and closing writing. That setting applies to everyone and nobody gets around it from their own account. Finally, Claude works with your rights and nothing beyond: a meeting you cannot open in Circleback stays closed to it too.

Plans

Which plans include it

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows plan availability. The answer per connector is published nowhere, and that is a real hole in the catalog rather than a gap in our reading.

The general rule is public: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner opens a connector for the organization before members can each sign in. For the live state of this one, go to Circleback's sheet in the official directory, the only place that shows it.

Limits

Where the Claude Circleback connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you: nothing starts when a meeting ends or a transcript is ready.

This connector is documented only by its publisher: neither Claude's help center nor Anthropic's developer docs cover it, so the facts here come from the directory sheet and Circleback's own page. A tool list showing only reading is an observed floor, not a guarantee, since an administrator can open writing that no public sheet shows. The partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic states on every sheet that it does not control which tools a publisher exposes. The Integrations hub gathers the automation families.

Two official sources disagree

Can the Circleback connector change data such as action items or tags?

  • Claude directory sheet ↗September 2026Lists 9 tools, all of them searches or lookups: meetings, transcripts, profiles, calendar events, emails, support articles, plus one undescribed name.
  • Circleback's MCP documentation ↗undated, read September 2026Also documents tools that create, update or delete action items and tags, which need write access granted at connection time.

What this page followsThe two do not describe the same list. This page follows the directory sheet, which is what Claude shows, and mentions the extra tools as Circleback's claim only: nothing official confirms they are active in Claude today. Check the sheet on your own account.

FAQ

Claude Circleback connector: frequent questions

01What can Claude do with the Circleback connector?
Claude can search and read the meeting memory Circleback keeps for you. Eight described tools find meetings by keyword, date, tag, attendee or domain, search transcripts for where something was said, pull full transcripts with speakers and timestamps, read notes and action items, look up people and their history, search calendar events, search connected email threads and search Circleback's help articles. A ninth tool is listed by name only, with no description anywhere.
02Can Claude change or delete anything in Circleback?
By default, its directory sheet exposes only reading: no tool on it is described as changing data. Circleback's own documentation does mention tools that create, update or delete action items and tags, and says they need write access granted at connection. Those tools are not on the sheet Claude shows, so this page does not treat them as available. An administrator can still open more than any public sheet lists.
03Does Claude ask before it acts in Circleback?
By default, yes: Claude asks for a confirmation before any action it takes on an account on your behalf. With the tools listed today, there is no change for a confirmation to cover. Circleback adds that its write tools need write access at connection and that your AI app can still ask before each change. On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners decide how much passes without a prompt, and they can close writing for everyone.
04Which plans is it available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and no directory sheet shows it. The general rule says remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner or Primary Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise. Circleback names no plan for this connector in its documentation. The directory sheet is the only place that shows the current state for your own account.
05Does Claude see all my meetings and emails?
No, Claude works with the rights of the person who connected and nothing more. It sees meetings Circleback recorded or imported for you, and email threads from the accounts you connected inside Circleback. Mailboxes and calendars that were never linked to Circleback stay out of reach, even if you use them every day. The authorization screen at connection belongs to Circleback, and it decides what the access covers, not Claude.
06Why does Circleback list more tools than the directory?
Because the two sources were not written at the same moment or for the same audience. Circleback's page covers its server for every AI app and documents action items and tags tools. The directory sheet Claude uses lists nine tools, all searches or lookups. Circleback also notes that people who connected before its write tools existed must disconnect and reconnect to grant write access. Check the sheet on your own account.
07Should I use Claude or an automation tool with Circleback?
They do different jobs, so pick by use. Claude works inside a conversation: you ask about a meeting, it searches and quotes, and nothing happens once you stop. It does not react by itself when a meeting ends or a transcript becomes available. When you want a summary pushed to a channel after every call, that is an automation tool's job. When you want answers from your meetings on demand, the connector fits.
