Overview

What changes for a partnerships or sales team

Checking which partners share an account usually means opening Crossbeam, picking a partner, filtering a population and exporting a list. With the connector on, you ask Claude the question in plain English, it pulls the overlaps and partner context itself, and answers in the conversation with the accounts and people worth your time.

Prep tomorrow's call. An account executive has a demo with a prospect tomorrow. get_account_context brings back the account's owner and populations, find_overlapping_partners shows which partners also have it, and find_partner_shared_contacts surfaces the decision makers those partners share.

Pick the right partner for a stuck deal. find_partner_recommendations returns a ranked list for an open opportunity, driven by the same engine as Crossbeam's Deal Navigator, so the channel manager knows who to call first.

Find pipeline outside your CRM. find_new_accounts lists promising companies where your partners already have customers, including ones you have never logged.

What the sheet does not tell you: Crossbeam states its connector tools are read only, and by default the sheet exposes nothing that writes. That is a floor, not a guarantee. No documented tool updates a record, invites a partner for you or changes a population. Every question also spends shared credits. And nothing runs by itself: no tool wakes up when a partner opens a deal. If you want that kind of background sync, the Crossbeam Make integration covers it; it is a different job from a chat.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary in one minute

Five words you will meet while connecting Crossbeam.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can work on it while it answers you.
Tool
One named thing a connector lets Claude do. Claude picks the ones it needs on its own; the directory sheet lists them by name.
Authorization
The service's own sign-in screen, where you hand Claude the access it will use afterwards. Granted once per person, revocable the same way.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes through with something that changes an account, shown in the chat when it matters.
MCP
The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service.
Connect

Connect Crossbeam to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Crossbeam in Claude

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Crossbeam. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable the connector first; after that, each member connects on their own.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on its row, then sign in with your Crossbeam credentials in the window Crossbeam opens itself. If the link breaks later, use Disconnect and connect again.

  3. 03

    Read the authorization screen

Go through the authorization screen before you accept. It is Crossbeam's screen, not Claude's, and it sets what the access covers. You can also revoke that access later from Crossbeam's own security settings.

11 tools

Eleven tools that look at your accounts, partners and ecosystem without changing any of it.

find_overlapping_accounts_and_leads

Pulls the list of accounts you have in common with one partner or several, filtered by partner, population, segment or partner score, and can run across your whole ecosystem in one go.

When it helps
a partner manager builds the target list for a joint campaign with a reseller.
Watch out
it only covers what partners share with you in Crossbeam.

find_overlapping_partners

Tells you which of your partners hold a given account in their own data, which is where co-selling opportunities show up at account level.

When it helps
a sales rep wonders whether an integration partner already works with the company they are chasing.

Sourcehelp.crossbeam.com · September 17, 2026 ↗

get_account_context

Brings together one of your accounts: details, owner, the populations it belongs to and your custom fields. Claude can look it up by domain, CRM record ID or company name.

When it helps
five minutes before a call, you need owner, segment and status without opening the CRM.

Sourcehelp.crossbeam.com · September 17, 2026 ↗

get_partner_context

Gives the full picture of your partner relationships: overlap counts, open deals, potential revenue, partner score, win rate, deal size and how recently each one was active. Filters by partner name, tag or region.

When it helps
a head of partnerships prepares the quarterly review and wants the most active partners ranked.

Sourcehelp.crossbeam.com · September 17, 2026 ↗

get_ecosystem_activity

Lists recent partner activity, newest first, across three kinds of signals: partner deals opened, partner deals won, and recent greenfield signals.

When it helps
Monday morning, a rep asks what moved on their accounts last week.
Watch out
Crossbeam lists only those three event types for this feed, so do not expect every kind of partner activity to appear.

Sourcehelp.crossbeam.com · September 17, 2026 ↗

find_partner_recommendations

Returns a ranked set of partners for an open opportunity, using the recommendation engine behind Crossbeam's Deal Navigator.

When it helps
a deal has stalled at procurement and the channel lead wants to know which partner has the most pull there.

Sourcehelp.crossbeam.com · September 17, 2026 ↗

find_partner_shared_contacts

Finds the people your partners share at an account: decision makers, economic buyers, executive sponsors and other key contacts.

When it helps
you want a warm introduction to the finance lead instead of a cold email.
Watch out
if a partner does not share those fields, nothing comes back for them.

Sourcehelp.crossbeam.com · September 17, 2026 ↗

get_partner_suggestions

Suggests companies you do not partner with on Crossbeam yet but probably should, based on ecosystem fit and Partnerbase data, with a direct link to invite them.

When it helps
a new partnerships hire maps who to approach first.
Watch out
Claude hands you the link, and the invite itself is yours to do in Crossbeam.

Sourcehelp.crossbeam.com · September 17, 2026 ↗

search_crossbeam_knowledge

Answers questions on how Crossbeam works and on ecosystem-led growth practice, drawing on Crossbeam's help docs, its ELG Insider blog and its book on the topic.

someone new to the tool asks what a population is before building their first one.

Sourcehelp.crossbeam.com · September 17, 2026 ↗

find_new_accounts

Returns high-potential prospects from Crossbeam's Pipeline Generation, based on where partners already have customers, including companies that are not yet in your own CRM.

When it helps
an SDR team runs out of fresh targets in a territory and wants partner-backed ones.

Sourcehelp.crossbeam.com · September 17, 2026 ↗

get_partner_overlaps_shared_context

Shows the CRM fields one partner shares about one account, standard ones and custom mapped ones such as account tier or renewal date.

When it helps
before a joint pitch, you check the partner's renewal date for that customer.
Watch out
you only see the fields that partner chose to map.

Approvals

What Claude asks before acting

By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before any action it takes on an account for you. The request appears in the conversation at the moment it matters.

With a sheet that exposes only reading, you will rarely see one here. The other rules still hold. On Team or Enterprise, owners decide whether members may let certain actions through without being asked each time, and they can cap what a connector may do for the whole organization. Claude always works with your Crossbeam rights and nothing more: data a partner does not share with you stays out of reach.

Plans

Which Claude plans it runs on

Of the 819 sheets in the official directory, none shows plan availability. The connector-by-connector answer is published nowhere.

The general rule is public: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector for the organization before each member can connect. For the current state, the connector's sheet in the official directory is the place to check. Worth knowing: this connector is documented by its publisher only, with no Claude help article of its own.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you; nothing starts when a partner opens or closes a deal.

The tool list is an observed floor, not a promise: an admin can open actions that no public sheet shows. The partner badge in the directory is not a security audit either, and Anthropic says as much on every sheet: it does not choose the tools a publisher exposes and does not guarantee they behave as described. Connect only what comes from a publisher you trust. To browse more connectors, the Integrations hub lists them.

FAQ

Claude Crossbeam connector: frequent questions

01What can Claude do with the Crossbeam connector?
Claude can read your partner ecosystem data while it answers you. The eleven documented tools pull shared accounts, which partners hold a given account, a snapshot of one of your accounts, partner scorecards, recent ecosystem activity, ranked partner picks for a deal, contacts partners share, companies to recruit as partners, net new accounts and the CRM fields a partner shares. One more tool answers questions about Crossbeam itself. Three other names on the sheet have no description.
02Can Claude change data or send invites in Crossbeam?
Not as documented. Crossbeam lists its connector tools as read only, and by default the sheet exposes nothing that writes. One tool hands you a link to invite a suggested partner, but sending that invite remains your action in Crossbeam. Keep in mind a read-only list is an observed floor, not a guarantee: an admin can open actions no public page shows. For pushing data into Crossbeam on a schedule, an automation platform is the right fit.
03Does Claude ask before acting on my Crossbeam data?
Claude's default is to ask for confirmation before any action it takes on an account on your behalf. No source describes a confirmation specific to a Crossbeam tool, and the documented tools only read, so you will rarely see a prompt. On Team or Enterprise, owners decide whether members may let some actions through without asking, and they can restrict what the connector does for everyone. Crossbeam admins can also cut MCP access per role.
04Which plans is the Crossbeam connector available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets displays it. The general rule says remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector for the organization before members connect. Crossbeam adds its own condition on its side: a Full Access or Sales seat. The directory sheet shows the current state for your account.
05Does Claude see all of our Crossbeam data?
No, Claude works with your rights and nothing more. It reaches what your own Crossbeam access shows you, and partner contacts or fields only appear when the partner shares them. A colleague with different permissions can get different answers to the same question. On the Crossbeam side, admins decide by role whether MCP access is allowed at all. On a Claude Team or Enterprise workspace, owners can further restrict what the connector may do.
06Why do Crossbeam questions in Claude use up credits?
Because Crossbeam meters every pull of partner and account intelligence into an AI tool, Claude included. The draw comes from one credit balance shared by the whole organization, not assigned per person, so heavy users affect everyone. Credits reset once a year and unused ones are lost. Crossbeam admins can monitor credit consumption and overall usage from the Plan & Billing page. Ask your admin before running large batches of questions.
07Claude or Make for Crossbeam?
They do different jobs, so choose by use. Claude with the connector is for questions in the moment: who shares this account, which partner can help on this deal, what moved this week. It reads and answers, and nothing runs on its own. Make is for jobs that must run without you, such as pulling overlaps into another tool every morning. Nothing stops you from using both, each for its own purpose.
