Overview

What changes when Claude can publish to Docfarm

Claude writes a proposal, a one-pager or a report; Docfarm turns it into a live page with a share link. Ask for a change later and Claude patches that page in place, so the link you already sent shows the latest version. Docfarm also records who opened each doc and what they read, which Claude can use to prepare your follow-up.

From chat to a link. host_html_content puts an HTML doc on Docfarm and hands back its share link. Reusing the same name updates that doc and keeps its link, password and view stats.

Small fixes, small edits. get_doc_html reads the current page, then patch_doc swaps one snippet, or patch_doc_batch applies several at once, all or nothing.

Know who read it. get_doc_status shows viewing stats, and draft_followup pulls that viewing data so Claude can prepare a follow-up email for you to send.

Now the part to watch. Twelve tools change something, and some are final: delete_doc removes a doc with its links, analytics, comments and stored file, with no way back. Inviting a collaborator reaches a real person, by email if they are not on Docfarm yet. Claude also acts only while it answers you: nothing is republished or chased up on its own. A scheduled reminder after a prospect opens a proposal belongs to an automation tool, a different job; the Integrations hub covers that side. For a connector that manages web content on a CMS instead, see the Claude agility-cms connector.

Vocabulary

Five words before you connect

The Claude terms used around this connector, explained once.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can work in it while it answers you.
Tool
One named action the connector gives Claude, such as hosting or patching a doc. Claude picks the tools itself; the directory lists all 22.
Authorization
Docfarm's own sign-in screen, where you grant the access Claude will use. Given once per person, and it can be withdrawn later.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes ahead with something that changes your account, shown right in the conversation.
MCP
The common standard connectors are built on, the piece that lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service such as Docfarm.
Connect

Connect Docfarm to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Docfarm in Claude

Open Claude's settings, go to Customize, then Connectors, and look up Docfarm. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable it before members can each sign in.

  2. 02

    Sign in to Docfarm

Click Connect on its row and log in in the window Docfarm opens. That window belongs to Docfarm, not Claude. If the link breaks later, use Disconnect and connect again.

  3. 03

    Review the access

Read Docfarm's authorization screen before accepting it. It is the service that sets what the access covers. You can also withdraw that access later from the Docfarm side.

Tools

The 22 tools: what Claude reads, writes, and what is unknown

Docfarm gives Claude 22 tools: 9 that read your account, 12 that change something in it, and 1 no official source describes.

Three groups: what Claude looks at, what it changes, and the one tool no source describes. Names stay exactly as Claude shows them.

  • 9 read
  • 12 write
  • 1 not documented

What Claude reads (9)

9 tools

Nine tools that look at your docs, links and viewing stats, and leave them as they are.

draft_followup

Gathers the viewing data of one doc so Claude can prepare a follow-up email based on what the reader actually opened.

When it helps
a prospect spent time on the pricing section and you want a reply that picks up from there.
Watch out
the publisher marks it read-only; nothing says it mails anyone, so the email is yours to finish.

get_doc_html

Returns the current HTML of any doc you can access, yours or shared with you, with its title, share link and your role on it.

When it helps
Claude needs to see the live page first, so its later proposal for one paragraph matches what is really there.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_doc_status

Pulls the viewing statistics of a doc, the figures Docfarm keeps on who opened it and how they read it.

When it helps
checking whether the board deck you published on Monday has actually been opened by the directors before the meeting.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_doc_url

Produces a time-limited link to the raw file of any doc you can access, whether HTML, PDF, Markdown or something else stored on Docfarm.

When it helps
handing a PDF stored on Docfarm to another tool, or giving a colleague a direct download.
Watch out
the link expires.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_tracking_snippet

Returns the tracking snippet attached to an HTML doc, the piece of code that lets Docfarm count views.

When it helps
a developer on your team asks for the exact snippet to check it is in place on a page.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

list_docs

Lists the docs you own in your Docfarm space; those other people opened to you sit in a separate list.

When it helps
taking stock of every proposal and one-pager you published this quarter before deciding which ones to retire.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

list_shared_with_me

Shows the HTML docs other Docfarm users added you to as a collaborator, and for each one how your future contributions would be handled: on the original or in a copy of your own.

When it helps
before touching a partner's doc, you check which of the two applies to you.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

whats_possible

Gives a grouped overview of the capabilities Docfarm offers inside Claude, from reading and tracking to collaboration and follow-ups.

When it helps
your very first conversation with the connector, when you simply ask what it can do for you and want the full picture in one answer.

What Claude changes (12)

12 tools

Twelve tools that publish, edit, share, rename or delete. No source spells out a Claude prompt for them, so the general rule below applies.

delete_doc

Approval: see the rule

Permanently removes a doc you own along with its share links, view data, chat, comments, suggestions, collaborators and stored file. There is no undo.

What Claude asks for
Docfarm's server tells Claude to confirm with you whenever the request is ambiguous; beyond that, the default rule below applies.
When it helps
retiring an outdated offer that must stop circulating.
Watch out
only the owner can delete.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

duplicate_doc

Approval: see the rule

Copies a doc you can read, yours or shared, into your own space under a new name, server-side, so the content does not pass through the conversation.

What Claude asks for
no source describes a specific prompt for copying; the approvals section covers it.
When it helps
adapting last month's proposal for a new client.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

finalize_upload

Approval: see the rule

Second step of a large upload: publishes the file sent to the signed address, and a new name gives a new doc with its own share link.

What Claude asks for
unspecified in the sources; rely on the general approval rule.
When it helps
publishing a heavy report already sitting on disk.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_upload_url

Approval: see the rule

First step for publishing a large HTML file from disk: returns a short-lived signed address to send it to, before the finishing step.

What Claude asks for
nothing documented for this tool; the default approvals rule holds.
When it helps
working in Claude Code with a big file on your machine.
Watch out
it needs a shell and open outbound network access.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

host_html_content

Approval: see the rule

Publishes an HTML doc on Docfarm and returns its share link. A new name makes a new doc; an existing name overwrites that doc, keeping its link, password and stats.

What Claude asks for
the sources give no step of their own; see the approvals block.
When it helps
turning a one-pager written in chat into a link for a client.
Watch out
anyone holding the link sees the new version.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

invite_collaborator

Approval: see the rule

Invites someone by email to work on a doc you own, either editing the original or forking their own copy. A non-user gets an invite email with a sign-up link.

What Claude asks for
the email address and whether their edits may overwrite yours; no other confirmation is documented.
When it helps
bringing a partner into a joint proposal.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

patch_doc

Approval: see the rule

Edits a hosted doc by replacing one snippet of its HTML, from a typo to a new section, without republishing the whole page.

What Claude asks for
nothing specific in any source; whatever the approvals section says is what applies.
When it helps
fixing a wrong date in a proposal a client already has open.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

patch_doc_batch

Approval: see the rule

Applies several snippet edits to one doc atomically, so either every change lands or none does.

What Claude asks for
the publisher documents no separate prompt; the general rule covers it.
When it helps
correcting a typo, a call to action and a date in one go before a meeting.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

propose_edit

Approval: see the rule

Sends the owner of a doc you collaborate on a suggestion instead of changing it: either a comment, or a copy carrying your edit.

What Claude asks for
no confirmation is described for suggestions; check the default approvals rule.
When it helps
proposing wording changes on a partner's page you should not edit directly.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

rename_doc

Approval: see the rule

Changes the display title of a doc you own and deliberately keeps its share link, so links already sent keep working.

What Claude asks for
the sources stay silent here; refer to the approvals section.
When it helps
a draft title slipped into a doc that is already circulating.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

track_html_page

Approval: see the rule

Registers a page you already host elsewhere, such as your site, for visitor tracking, and returns a script tag to paste into that page.

What Claude asks for
not described in the sources; the general approval rule is the reference.
When it helps
measuring reads on a landing page you built outside Docfarm.

Sourcemcp.doc.farm · October 1, 2026 ↗

update_doc_settings

Approval: see the rule

Changes the sharing settings of a doc you own: password, asking viewers for their name, file downloads and view notifications. Only the fields passed are touched.

What Claude asks for
no tool-specific prompt is published; the default rule applies.
When it helps
locking a pricing page behind a password before sending it.

Undocumented (1)

1 tool

This name is on the directory sheet and nowhere else we could read. No official text says what it does, and we will not guess from the name.

read_shared_doc

This name appears in the directory's tool list, but the list Docfarm's server publishes does not include it, and no other official text describes it. This page therefore says nothing about what it does. No source says whether it reads or changes anything in your account.

Approvals

What Claude checks with you first

By default, Claude stops and asks before each action it takes on an account on someone's behalf. That default matters here, with twelve tools that change your docs.

Only one tool carries an instruction of its own: Docfarm's server tells Claude to confirm with you before deleting when the request is ambiguous. On Team and Enterprise, owners decide whether members may let some actions through without a prompt, and they can restrict a connector for the whole organization, reading on and writing off for example. Claude works with your own Docfarm access and nothing beyond it.

Plans

Which plans can use it

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows plan availability. For Docfarm, as for every connector, that answer is published nowhere.

The documented rule is a general one: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables a connector for the organization before members can connect. The live state of this one sits on its sheet in the official directory, the only place kept current.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you, so nothing is republished or followed up when a reader opens a doc.

The partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic states on every sheet that it neither picks a publisher's tools nor guarantees how they behave. Everything on this page comes from the directory sheet and from the tool list Docfarm's server publishes; no Claude help article covers this connector. That server list also holds tools the directory does not show, which this page deliberately leaves aside.

FAQ

Questions about the Claude Docfarm connector

01What can Claude do with the Claude Docfarm connector?
Claude can publish what it writes as a live Docfarm page with a share link, then keep that page up to date. Its tools host HTML docs, read and patch them, duplicate or rename them, change sharing settings such as a password, invite collaborators, and track pages hosted elsewhere. On the reading side, it lists your docs, fetches links and download URLs, and pulls viewing stats to prepare a follow-up. Of 22 tools, 9 read, 12 write and 1 is undocumented.
02Can Claude delete or overwrite my Docfarm documents?
Yes. delete_doc permanently removes a doc you own with its links, analytics, comments, collaborators and stored file, and Docfarm states there is no undo. Hosting a doc under an existing name overwrites it in place, keeping the link, so readers see the new version immediately. Patching, renaming and changing settings also alter live docs. The publisher marks most of these tools as destructive, so name the doc precisely when you ask.
03Does Claude ask before it changes a Docfarm doc?
By default, Claude stops and asks before each action it takes on an account on someone's behalf. No source describes a specific prompt for the Docfarm tools, except that the server instructs Claude to confirm with you before a deletion when the request is ambiguous. On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners decide whether members may let some actions pass without a prompt, and they can block writing for the organization.
04Which plans is the Docfarm connector available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets shows it. The general rule says remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables a connector for the organization before members can use it. For Docfarm's current state on your account, check its sheet in the official directory.
05Does Claude see every doc in Docfarm?
Claude sees what your own Docfarm access shows and nothing more. It can list the docs you own and, separately, those other users shared with you as a collaborator, with a note on whether your edits there would overwrite the original or go into your own copy. Settings and deletion only work on docs you own. You grant this access on Docfarm's sign-in screen and can withdraw it later from Docfarm.
06Why does a large Docfarm upload fail from Claude?
Because the upload route needs network access Claude may not have. Starting a large upload returns a signed address that must receive the file through a direct transfer, which requires a shell and unrestricted outbound access. Where outbound access is restricted, that transfer fails. Docfarm's own guidance is to host the HTML inline instead, which works in any environment at all, since the HTML is then passed directly in the request.
07Claude or an automation tool for Docfarm follow-ups?
They do different jobs, so pick by use. Claude with this connector suits work you do in the moment: write a doc, publish it, patch it, read its stats, prepare a follow-up email. It does not run on its own, so it will not chase a reader the morning after they open your proposal. A timed reminder or alert is the job of an automation tool. Neither one wins in general; it depends on whether you are working now or setting up something that waits.
