Claude PGA connectorWhat Claude can do in your PGA account.
The Claude PGA connector exposes 4 tools: 3 read, 1 write, 0 left undocumented. Three find coaches, programs and open slots, one requests a lesson booking. Here: what Claude can book for you, what still happens on pga.com, and who decides.

What the Claude PGA connector changes for your game
With the connector, you describe the coach or the lesson you want in plain words, and Claude searches the PGA of America coach listings around a location, shows a chosen coach's open times and can request the lesson in the same chat. Booking is the only action that goes beyond a lookup.
A shortlist of coaches near you. Give Claude a town and search_golf_coaches returns the qualified PGA coaches listed on pga.com, closest first, with their private-lesson offers, prices and a short teaser of the group programs they host.
Group programs nearby. search_golf_programs looks for upcoming public clinics, camps and classes around a location, with the hosting coach, the facility and a link to register on pga.com.
A lesson request in the same thread. Once you pick a coach, get_golf_coach_availability lists their open times, and book_golf_lesson sends the booking request with the student's details. Some lessons come back confirmed with a code; others return a link to finish on pga.com, for instance to pay.
What the directory sheet does not tell you: in Claude, you must sign in with a PGA.com account before any request goes through, even a simple search. Group programs are never booked by Claude; registration happens on the program page. And nothing runs on its own: Claude does not watch for a slot opening up. For background jobs triggered by an event, an automation platform does that work, listed on the Integrations hub.
Five words worth knowing first
The vocabulary you will meet while connecting PGA.
- Connector
- The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can work with it while it answers you.
- Tool
- One named thing a connector lets Claude do. Claude chooses the ones it needs on its own; the directory sheet lists them by name.
- Authorization
- The sign-in screen of the service itself, where you give Claude the access it will use. Granted once per person, withdrawn the same way.
- Approval
- The confirmation Claude waits for before it changes something in your account, shown in the chat at the moment it matters.
- MCP
- The common standard connectors run on: it is what lets an assistant such as Claude exchange with an outside service in a single way.
Connect PGA to Claude in three steps
- 01
Locate PGA in Claude
In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and find PGA – Play Golf in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner must enable it first so each member can sign in.
- 02
Launch the connection
Click Connect on its row, then sign in to PGA.com in the window the service opens itself. If the link breaks later, choose Disconnect, then connect again to rebuild it.
- 03
Review the authorization screen
Read the authorization screen before you accept. It is PGA's screen, not Claude's, and it decides what the access covers. Once you accept, the connector is ready in your next conversation.
The 4 tools, grouped by what they do
PGA – Play Golf gives Claude 4 tools: 3 that read your account, 1 that change something in it.
Three lookups and one booking request. Tool names stay as Claude displays them.

What Claude reads (3)
3 toolsThree searches in PGA's coach and program listings, nothing booked.
get_golf_coach_availability
Returns the offering details and open lesson times of one coach you already know, so you see what is available before asking for anything.
search_golf_coaches
Looks up qualified coaches listed on pga.com/coach around a location you give, closest first. Each result carries the coach's profile, private-lesson offers with prices, and up to two upcoming public programs they host.
search_golf_programs
Finds upcoming public clinics, camps, classes and other group events near a location, with the coach who hosts each one and the facility. A response holds up to 7 programs, each with a link to its page on pga.com.
What Claude changes (1)
1 toolOne tool sends a booking request. No source details its confirmation, so the general rule below applies.
book_golf_lesson
Approval: see the ruleSubmits a booking request for one coach's offering. The reply is a confirmation code with a link when the lesson books on its own, a link to finish steps such as payment, or an error.
What Claude checks with you first
By default, Claude pauses and asks for your go-ahead before any action it takes on an account in your place. The prompt appears in the conversation when it counts.
On Team and Enterprise, workspace owners decide whether members can let some actions through without being asked every time. They can also limit what a connector may do for the whole organization, for example keeping searches open and blocking bookings, and no member can lift that from their own account. Claude also uses the rights of the person signed in and nothing beyond them. PGA of America's own instructions to Claude add one rule: internal IDs of coaches, offers and programs are for tool calls only and are not to be shown to you.
Which plans include it
Out of 819 sheets in the official directory, not one shows availability by plan. Connector by connector, that answer is not published anywhere.
The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, and desktop extensions install on Claude Desktop. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner turns a connector on for the organization before members can sign in. For the live status of PGA – Play Golf, open its sheet in the official directory.
Where this connector stops
A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it talks with you, and nothing fires when a coach frees a slot or a new clinic is posted.
The tool list is an observed floor, not a ceiling: an administrator can open actions that no public sheet shows. The directory's partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic writes on every sheet that it does not pick a publisher's tools nor vouch for how they behave. Only PGA of America documents this connector; no Claude help article covers it. Other connectors are gathered on the Claude connectors hub.
