What you can automate

What can the Paced Email Make integration do for you?

The Paced Email Make integration links your Paced Email account to Make, a no-code tool where you build a scenario: an automation made of modules, each one a brick such as a trigger or an action. Once linked, Make can watch Paced Email for new events and send email or create inbox aliases on your behalf.

Emails that leave on their own. A lead fills in a form in another app, and the Send an Email module takes over from there. Nobody has to copy the address by hand.

A dedicated address per project. When a new client folder opens elsewhere, Create Inbox Alias can prepare an alias for it. The docs give no detail on how aliases behave, so check the result in Paced Email after your first test.

A reaction to what happens in Paced Email. Watch New Event starts a scenario when Make spots a new event on its schedule, and the next modules decide what to do with it. When a listed module falls short, Make an API Call reaches the rest of the Paced Email API with the same connection.

One honest limit: Make says its own documentation for Paced Email is incomplete because too little public information exists about the app. The module names are known, the fields are not described. If a run behaves oddly, Make troubleshooting covers the usual checks.

The same app often has an n8n node too. To weigh both tools on their own terms, read n8n vs Make, and if you want the full picture of Make first, start with the Make review.

Connect

How do you connect Paced Email to Make?

  1. 01

    Add a Paced Email module

In a scenario, click the +, search for Paced Email and pick any of its modules. Then click Create a connection. The connection is your Paced Email account linked to Make once and reused by every Paced Email module afterwards.

  2. 02

    Name the connection

Giving the connection a name is optional, but it helps later. With a client account and an internal account side by side, a clear label saves you from sending an email from the wrong one.

  3. 03

    Authorize and save

Depending on what Paced Email asks for, approve Make on the Paced Email page or paste the key the app gives you. Click Save, and the module can now list what your account contains.

First scenario

Build your first scenario with Paced Email

GoalWhen a new entry lands in another app, Make sends an email through Paced Email.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

Open the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the + to place the first module. This first brick is the app where your new entries appear, such as a form or a spreadsheet.

  2. 02

    Set up the starting module

Connect that app and fill in its fields. Once the connection exists, Make lists the forms or sheets it can read, so you pick the right one from a menu instead of typing a path.

  3. 03

    Add Send an Email

Click the + on the right of the first module, search for Paced Email and choose Send an Email. Create the connection, then map the address and the text from the bundle the first module passes along.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Add a test entry in the source app and click Run once. Make runs the scenario a single time and shows the bundles each module received, so you can see exactly what reached Paced Email.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch on

Open the clock on the first module to set the schedule, which is every 15 minutes by default, then switch the scenario on. From now on, each new entry triggers an email without you lifting a finger.

Triggers

What starts a Paced Email scenario

1 module starts a scenario when something happens in Paced Email. A scheduled trigger is checked by Make on the scenario's schedule; an instant one is called by Paced Email as soon as it happens.

Paced Email1Watch New Event

Watch New Event

triggerIn the docs only

Watch New Event lets a scenario start from something that happens in Paced Email instead of in another app. Each new event it finds becomes a bundle, one item handed to the next module. Make lists this trigger without describing which events it covers, so run a test to see what it returns for your account.

How it fires
scheduled. Make checks the app on the scenario's schedule, which is every 15 minutes by default.
When to use it
when an event in Paced Email should update a record, alert a colleague or feed a report in another tool.
Watch out
avoid pairing it with Send an Email in the same scenario until you know whether a sent email counts as a new event, or the scenario could feed itself.
Modules

What Paced Email can do in Make

Paced Email gives you 3 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Paced Email1

Create Inbox Alias

ActionIn the docs only

Create Inbox Alias gives you a new alias in Paced Email from inside a scenario, so a fresh address can exist the moment a project or client does. Make does not describe its fields, so open the module to see what it asks for.

When to use it
right after a new client record appears in your CRM, so the account gets its own alias.
Watch out
each run creates another alias, so test on a single bundle before switching the scenario on.
Paced Email2

Make an API Call

ActionIn the docs only

Make an API Call is your way around any gap in the listed modules: it calls any endpoint of the Paced Email API while reusing the connection you already created. You write the request yourself, so it suits someone comfortable reading API documentation.

When to use it
when the task you need is missing from Watch New Event, Create Inbox Alias and Send an Email.
Watch out
the page cannot tell you which endpoints exist; check them in Paced Email's own API reference.
Paced Email3

Send an Email

ActionIn the docs only

Send an Email turns data from earlier modules into a message sent through your Paced Email account. It is the module that makes the integration useful for most people, because the address and the content can come from any other app.

When to use it
to answer a new form entry or confirm a booking made in another tool.
Watch out
every bundle that reaches it sends one email, and each send counts as an operation, one execution Make tallies on your plan.

FAQ

Paced Email and Make: common questions

01Is the Paced Email Make integration free?
Yes, Paced Email is a standard app, so its modules work on the Make Free plan. That plan has limits: 2 active scenarios, at least 15 minutes between two scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution at most, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) lower the interval to 1 minute, remove the cap on active scenarios and allow 40 minutes of execution. Usage is counted in operations per month. The price of Paced Email itself is a separate matter handled with the app.
02What do you need to connect Paced Email to Make?
A Paced Email account and a Make account are enough to begin, since the documentation lists no other prerequisite. You add any Paced Email module, click Create a connection, give it a name if you like, then either approve Make on the Paced Email page or paste the key the app provides, and click Save. Make admits its documentation for this app is limited, so if the connection step asks for something unexpected, look in your Paced Email settings for the access method it supports.
03Does the Paced Email trigger in Make fire instantly?
No. Watch New Event is a scheduled trigger, which means Make checks Paced Email on the scenario's schedule rather than being alerted by the app. Make's directory does not describe this trigger, so its type is inferred from its name; the clock badge on the module in the editor confirms it. A new scenario checks every 15 minutes by default. On the Free plan, 15 minutes is also the shortest interval allowed, while paid plans can go down to 1 minute. For scenarios that start in another app, the speed depends on that app's own trigger, not on Paced Email.
04What if the Paced Email module you need is missing in Make?
It depends on the task, but Make an API Call is the first place to look. This module can reach any endpoint of the Paced Email API with the connection you already set up, so you are not limited to Watch New Event, Create Inbox Alias and Send an Email. Keep in mind that Make describes its Paced Email documentation as limited, so the list of available endpoints has to come from Paced Email's own API reference.
05Should you use Make or n8n for Paced Email?
It depends on how you prefer to work, since both tools can often automate the same app. With Make, Paced Email comes with 4 ready modules, including Make an API Call for anything the other three do not cover, and it runs on the Free plan as a standard app. The same app often has an n8n node too. The fair approach is to list what your scenario must do, check which tool covers those steps with the least custom work, and test there first.
