RoboQuill Make integrationAutomate RoboQuill with Make.

Can an order show up in RoboQuill without anyone typing it? The RoboQuill Make integration gives you 2 action modules: one creates an order, the other calls the RoboQuill API directly. This guide connects your account and walks you through a first working scenario.

What you can automate

What can the RoboQuill Make integration do for you?

The RoboQuill Make integration lets a Make scenario, the automation you build as a chain of modules, write into your RoboQuill account for you. RoboQuill has no trigger in Make, so something else starts the flow: another app, or a schedule you set in Make.

Orders from a form, entered for you. Put a form app's trigger first, then Create an Order. Each submission becomes one bundle, one item passed from module to module, and each bundle becomes one order in RoboQuill.

A closed deal that turns into an order. Sales teams can start from their CRM's trigger and hand the deal details to Create an Order, so nobody copies the same data twice.

Anything the two modules leave out. Make an API Call reaches any endpoint of the RoboQuill API with the same connection. It is the way to cover a task the listed modules do not.

Be aware that Make's own documentation for RoboQuill is limited: it says there is not enough public information about the app to describe it fully. Test every module with real data before you rely on it. If you are still weighing tools, read the n8n vs Make comparison, and check Make pricing before you plan several active scenarios.

Connect

How do you connect RoboQuill to Make?

  1. 01

    Add a RoboQuill module

In your scenario, click the +, search for RoboQuill and pick Create an Order. Then click Create a connection. A connection is your RoboQuill account linked to Make once, then reused by every RoboQuill module.

  2. 02

    Name the connection

Giving the connection a name is optional, but it helps. If you later link a second RoboQuill account, a clear name such as the account owner tells you which one each module uses at a glance.

  3. 03

    Authorize and save

Depending on what RoboQuill asks for, either approve Make on the RoboQuill page that opens, or paste the key RoboQuill gives you. Click Save, and the module can now read and write in your account.

First scenario

Build your first RoboQuill scenario

GoalWhen another app hands Make a new record, Make creates a matching order in RoboQuill.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

Open the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the +. The first module has to come from another app, because RoboQuill has no trigger of its own.

  2. 02

    Pick the starting app

Search for the app where the new records appear, choose its trigger and link your account with Create a connection. Fill its fields; Make lists what it can read once connected.

  3. 03

    Add Create an Order

Click the + on the right of the first module, search RoboQuill and choose Create an Order. Select the connection you made earlier.

  4. 04

    Map the order data

Fill the order fields by mapping values from the first module: click a field, then pick the matching item Make shows from the previous step. Nothing is typed by hand.

  5. 05

    Test with Run once

Click Run once. Make runs the scenario a single time, and you can open each module to read the bundle it received. Check in RoboQuill that the order looks right.

  6. 06

    Schedule and switch it on

Set the schedule on the first module. A new scenario checks every 15 minutes by default, and the Free plan cannot go below that. Then switch the scenario on.

Modules

What the RoboQuill modules do

RoboQuill gives you 2 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

RoboQuill1

Create an Order

ActionIn the docs only

You get a new order in your RoboQuill account, filled with data mapped from an earlier module instead of typed by hand. Each bundle that reaches this module creates one order and uses one operation, the unit Make counts on your plan.

When to use it
when a sale, a form reply or a signed deal elsewhere should become a RoboQuill order.
Watch out
the doc gives no field list, so run the scenario once and check the result in RoboQuill.
RoboQuill2

Make an API Call

ActionIn the docs only

With this module you can send any request the RoboQuill API accepts (each one is called an endpoint), using the same connection as your other RoboQuill modules. That makes it the fallback for everything that Create an Order does not handle.

When to use it
when you need to read or change something in RoboQuill and no listed module does it.
Watch out
you have to know the endpoint and what it expects; the Make doc for RoboQuill is limited and does not describe the API.

FAQ

RoboQuill and Make: common questions

01Is the RoboQuill Make integration free?
Yes. RoboQuill is a standard app in Make, so its modules work on the Free plan. That plan has its own limits: 2 active scenarios, at least 15 minutes between two scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution per run, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans lift the interval to 1 minute, remove the cap on active scenarios and allow 40 minutes of execution. Usage is counted in operations, one per module run on one bundle.
02What do you need to connect RoboQuill to Make?
A RoboQuill account and a Make account. Make's documentation lists no specific prerequisite for RoboQuill, so the generic steps apply: add a RoboQuill module, click Create a connection, optionally name it, then either authorize Make on the RoboQuill page or paste the key RoboQuill provides, and click Save. The connection is then shared by both RoboQuill modules, so it is set up only once. If you link a second RoboQuill account later, give each connection a clear name so every module points to the right one.
03Can a RoboQuill scenario start on its own?
Not from RoboQuill itself. The app has no trigger module in Make, only 2 actions. The scenario therefore starts from a trigger of another app, such as a form or a CRM, or from the schedule on its first module, which runs every 15 minutes by default. When the starting app offers an instant trigger, it calls Make through a webhook as soon as something happens; a scheduled one is checked at each interval instead.
04What if a RoboQuill action is missing in Make?
Use Make an API Call. It sends a request to any endpoint of the RoboQuill API with the same connection, so it covers what Create an Order does not. The catch is documentation: Make says its RoboQuill page is limited because little public information exists about the app. You will need RoboQuill's own API reference to know which endpoint to call and what it expects. Test each call with Run once and read the bundle it returns before you switch the scenario on.
05Should you use Make or n8n for RoboQuill?
It depends on where the rest of your automations already run. In Make, RoboQuill offers 2 modules, Create an Order and Make an API Call, and it works on the Free plan. The same app often has a node in n8n too, but this page does not rank the two tools. The comparison between n8n and Make on this site walks through the criteria so you can decide for your own stack.
