What you can automate

What can the Snack Prompt Make integration do for you?

The Snack Prompt Make integration lets Make create, read, update and delete the lists and items stored in your Snack Prompt account, with no code. You build a scenario (the automation itself, a chain of modules), and each module is one brick that does a single job in Snack Prompt.

Keep lists tidy from another tool. When a record lands in another app, Search Lists finds the right list and Create an Item adds the entry to it. Update an Item and Delete an Item then keep that entry in step when the source changes.

Build and retire lists on demand. A team starting a new project can have Create a List open a fresh list, then Update a List or Delete a List handle it when the project ends. Get a List reads it back if another app needs its details.

Move files around your items. Upload Files sends a file into Snack Prompt and Delete files removes it once it is no longer useful. On the Free plan of Make, files go up to 5 MB.

One limit to know upfront: Snack Prompt has no trigger in Make, so nothing starts a scenario from inside Snack Prompt. The scenario begins on a schedule or on another app's event. The doc lists no numeric limit and describes none of the modules, so the notes below read each one from its name. If you are still deciding on a platform, the n8n vs Make comparison lays out the differences, and the Make review covers the editor in detail. Stuck on an error later? See Make troubleshooting.

Connect

How do you connect Snack Prompt to Make?

  1. 01

Create an API key in Snack Prompt

Log in to Snack Prompt, open your profile icon in the upper right corner and pick API Keys. Click Create New API Key, give it a name, confirm with Create API Key, then copy the value and keep it somewhere safe.

  2. 02

Open a connection from any Snack Prompt module

In your Make scenario, add any Snack Prompt module and click Create a connection. A connection is your Snack Prompt account linked to Make once and reused by every Snack Prompt module. The Connection name field is optional.

  3. 03

    Paste the key and save

Paste the key into the API key field and click Save. If Snack Prompt asks you to authenticate and confirm access, accept it. The connection now appears in the dropdown of every Snack Prompt module you add.

First scenario

Your first scenario with Snack Prompt

GoalWhen new data comes out of another app, Make finds the right Snack Prompt list and adds an item to it.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

Go to the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the big +. Pick the module of the app that holds your source data as the first brick, since Snack Prompt has no trigger of its own.

  2. 02

    Add Search Lists

Click the + on the right of that first module, search for Snack Prompt and choose Search Lists. Click Create a connection and paste your API key if the account is not linked yet.

  3. 03

    Add Create an Item

Add Create an Item after the search. Map the list found by Search Lists and the data from your first module into its fields. Mapping just means clicking a value from an earlier module to reuse it.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once. Make runs the scenario one time and shows the bundles each module received (a bundle is one item passed from one module to the next). Check that the item landed in the right list.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch on

Open the clock on the first module to set the schedule, every 15 minutes by default, then switch the scenario on. Each module that runs on a bundle counts as one operation on your Make plan.

Modules

Every Snack Prompt module in Make

Snack Prompt gives you 15 modules in 2 groups. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Actions

13 modules
Snack Prompt1

Create a List

ActionIn the docs only

You get a brand new list in your Snack Prompt account, created by the scenario instead of by hand. The list then exists for the next modules to fill.

When to use it
a new project, client or campaign appears in another app and deserves its own place in Snack Prompt.
Watch out
each Run once test creates a real list, so delete the test copies afterwards.
Snack Prompt2

Create an Item

ActionIn the docs only

Adds a fresh item to your Snack Prompt account from data the scenario already carries, so nobody retypes it. It is the module most scenarios end on.

When to use it
a form answer, a note or a row elsewhere should become a Snack Prompt item as soon as the scenario picks it up.
Watch out
pair it with Search items first if the same entry could be sent twice.
Snack Prompt3

Delete a List

ActionIn the docs only

Removes a whole list from Snack Prompt, which keeps your account free of lists nobody uses anymore. Choose it over Delete an Item when the container itself has to go.

When to use it
a project is closed in your project tool and its dedicated list should disappear with it.
Watch out
treat the deletion as final and test on a throwaway list before switching the scenario on.
Snack Prompt4

Delete an Item

ActionIn the docs only

This one clears a single item out of Snack Prompt while the rest of its list stays in place. It is the precise tool when only one entry is obsolete.

When to use it
the source record was removed in another app and the matching Snack Prompt item should follow.
Watch out
the item is gone for good, so feed it the exact item found by Search items or Get an Item.
Snack Prompt5

Delete files

ActionIn the docs only

Your Snack Prompt account sheds files it no longer needs, without you opening it. It is the counterpart of Upload Files.

When to use it
a document was replaced by a newer version and the old copy should not linger next to it.
Watch out
the doc gives no description of this module, so check with Run once which files it targets before letting it run on a schedule.
Snack Prompt6

Get a List

ActionIn the docs only

Fetches one list you already know, so later modules can reuse its details. Pick it rather than Search Lists when you hold the list's reference from an earlier step.

When to use it
a scenario must check a list's current state before adding or changing anything in it.
Watch out
it reads one list only; to find lists by criteria, Search Lists is the right module.
Snack Prompt7

Get an Item

ActionIn the docs only

Reads a single known item and hands its content to the next modules, ready to be mapped. Nothing changes in Snack Prompt, it only reads.

When to use it
you want to copy an item into another app, or check its content before calling Update an Item.
Watch out
it needs the item's reference, so it usually follows Search items or a module that already returned one.
Snack Prompt8

Get free item by URL

ActionIn the docs only

Brings an item into the scenario starting from its URL, which spares you from hunting for its reference. Make lists it among the actions of the app.

When to use it
someone shares a Snack Prompt link in a chat or a form and the scenario should pick up that item.
Watch out
the doc says nothing more about it, so run it once on a real link to see which fields come back.
Snack Prompt9

Make an API Call

ActionIn the docs only

Opens the whole Snack Prompt API to your scenario, reusing the connection you already created. It covers whatever the listed modules leave out.

When to use it
you need an endpoint of the Snack Prompt API that no listed module exposes.
Watch out
you write the request yourself, so keep the Snack Prompt API documentation at hand and test with Run once.
Snack Prompt10

Update a List

ActionIn the docs only

Changes an existing list in place, so its details stay in line with the project it belongs to. Judging by the name, it edits the list rather than replacing it, which beats deleting and recreating.

When to use it
a project gets renamed in another tool and its Snack Prompt list should carry the new name.
Watch out
point it at the right list with Search Lists or Get a List first.
Snack Prompt11

Update an Item

ActionIn the docs only

Edits an item that already exists so its content catches up with your source. Choose it over Create an Item when the entry is already in Snack Prompt.

When to use it
the original text changes in another app and the Snack Prompt copy should match it.
Watch out
map only the fields you mean to change, and test the result with Run once.
Snack Prompt12

Upload Files

ActionIn the docs only

Puts a file from another module into Snack Prompt, so attachments stop travelling by email. The file arrives as a bundle from a previous app and goes straight in.

When to use it
a file shows up in cloud storage or as an email attachment and belongs in Snack Prompt.
Watch out
on the Free plan of Make, files are capped at 5 MB and data transfer at 512 MB.
Snack Prompt13

Use a Dynamic Prompot

ActionIn the docs only

Runs a dynamic prompt from your Snack Prompt account inside the scenario, going by the module's name. Make spells it "Prompot" in the module list, so search for that spelling.

When to use it
a scenario has to feed values from another app into a prompt you keep in Snack Prompt.
Watch out
the doc gives no description, so read its output with Run once before relying on it.

Searches

2 modules
Snack Prompt14

Search items

SearchIn the docs only

Finds the items that match what you are looking for, and returns zero, one or several bundles. It is how a scenario locates an entry when it does not hold its reference.

When to use it
before creating an item, to check it is not already in your account.
Watch out
each result is a separate bundle, so the next module runs once per item found and uses one operation each time.
Snack Prompt15

Search Lists

SearchIn the docs only

Looks through your lists and returns the ones that match, as separate bundles the next modules can use. Choose it over Get a List when you only know what the list is about.

When to use it
a scenario must drop an item into the list that matches a client or a topic.
Watch out
no match means zero bundles, and the rest of the scenario simply does not run for that pass.

FAQ

Snack Prompt and Make: common questions

01Is the Snack Prompt Make integration free?
Yes. Snack Prompt is a standard app in Make, available from the Free plan. That plan allows 2 active scenarios, runs scheduled scenarios at most every 15 minutes, stops an execution after 5 minutes, and caps files at 5 MB with 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) drop the interval to 1 minute, remove the limit on active scenarios and count usage in credits, meaning operations, each month. Your Snack Prompt subscription is a separate matter.
02What do you need to connect Snack Prompt to Make?
A Snack Prompt account and an API key from it. In Snack Prompt, open your profile icon, go to API Keys, click Create New API Key, name it and copy the value shown. In Make, add any Snack Prompt module, click Create a connection, paste the key in the API key field and click Save. The doc lists no other prerequisite. The same connection then serves all 15 Snack Prompt modules.
03Does Snack Prompt trigger Make scenarios in real time?
No. Snack Prompt has no trigger in Make, neither scheduled nor instant, so nothing inside Snack Prompt can start a scenario. You still have two ways in. The first is a trigger from another app, for example a new form answer that ends up as a Snack Prompt item. The second is the schedule on the first module of the scenario, every 15 minutes by default, which you can lower to 1 minute on a paid plan.
04What if a Snack Prompt module you need is missing in Make?
Use Make an API Call. It sends any request to the Snack Prompt API with the connection you already set up, which covers endpoints the 13 actions and 2 searches do not expose. You write the request yourself, so keep the Snack Prompt API documentation open. The Make doc gives no numeric limit for this app. Several modules, such as Use a Dynamic Prompot, come without a description, so test them with Run once first.
05Make or n8n for Snack Prompt?
It depends on the tool you already run. On Make, Snack Prompt comes with 15 ready modules and an API key connection, which is enough to manage lists, items and files without code. An n8n node often exists for the same app, but this page cannot confirm one for Snack Prompt, so check the n8n catalog first. Compare the modules on each side against your exact scenario before choosing, rather than picking by habit.
