Overview

What the 1ClickImpact Zapier integration really does

The 1ClickImpact Zapier integration turns events in your other tools into environmental or charitable impact, with no code. Something happens elsewhere, a sale or a signup, and a 1ClickImpact action plants trees, captures carbon, removes ocean waste, restores coral or sends a donation, for you or on behalf of a customer.

Three outcomes cover most setups. Impact tied to every sale: an order in your store starts the Zap, and Plant Tree or Capture Carbon runs with an amount you choose, so each purchase carries its own contribution. A thank-you that customers can see: the actions can email the customer about the impact made in their name, since notifications are on by default. Giving outside the listed causes: Donate Money sends an amount to a cause, even one 1ClickImpact does not support directly.

Now what Zapier does not do here. 1ClickImpact has no trigger in Zapier, so it can never start a Zap: the starting event always comes from another app. There is no search step either, so a Zap cannot look up past contributions. Everything on offer is a one-way order: do this much impact, now.

The amount also behaves differently from one action to the next. Trees and coral count in units, carbon and ocean waste count in pounds, and donations count in the smallest unit of the US dollar. On that last one, typing 1 sends a single cent.

Vocabulary

Zapier words, in plain English

Six words carry this whole page. Here is what each one means, once.

Zap
The automation you set up on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts a Zap, like a new order in your store. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does once it starts: the step that writes, sends or orders something for you, like planting trees.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action the Zap completes successfully. The allowance on your plan is a count of these.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by its app the moment it happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Cost

What a 1ClickImpact Zap costs in tasks

1ClickImpact is not a premium app, so it runs from the free plan up. Zapier bills in tasks, and only actions that succeed are counted.

  • Free plan tasks100 per month
  • Steps per Zap on Free2 (one trigger, one action)
  • Premium appNo
  • 1ClickImpact actions5, one task each when they succeed

The trigger never costs a task, and Zapier checking for new data costs nothing either. Each successful 1ClickImpact action is one task; a Zap that plants trees and captures carbon on the same order uses two. A failed action is not charged. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, limited to two steps each: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. How fast the Zap starts depends on the other app's trigger: on polling, the grid is Free 15 minutes, Professional 2, Team 1, Enterprise 1.

Connect

Connect 1ClickImpact to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In Zapier, open the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your 1ClickImpact account linked once, then reused by every step that calls it.

  2. 02

    Find 1ClickImpact

Search for 1ClickImpact in the dialog, pick it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the 1ClickImpact side so you can sign in to the right account.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to 1ClickImpact in that tab and grant Zapier access. You need a 1ClickImpact account, plus read or write rights on anything you do not own yourself that the Zap should touch.

First Zap

Your first Zap: plant trees for every order

GoalEach time an order comes in, keep only the ones that qualify and plant a set number of trees on the customer's behalf.

  1. 01

    Build: choose the starting app

Create a Zap and pick the app where the event happens, your store for instance, then the event that should start it. 1ClickImpact cannot be this first step.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you map fields from a real order, not a made-up one.

  3. 03

    Add a filter if needed

Click the plus icon and choose Filter to set a field, a rule and a value. This makes the Zap multi-step, so skip it on the free plan.

  4. 04

    Add Plant Tree

Add the 1ClickImpact action Plant Tree, choose the connection and enter the Amount, the number of trees for each order. Send Notification emails the customer by default, so switch it off if you do not want that.

  5. 05

    Test, then Publish

Run each step once and read what came back from both apps. When the result looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.

Actions

1ClickImpact actions: 5 kinds of impact

1ClickImpact gives you 5 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Capture Carbon

Action

In Zapier“Capture carbon yourself or on behalf of your customers.”

Orders a quantity of carbon capture, in pounds, either for your own company or in a customer's name.

When to use it
you ship physical goods and want each delivery to offset part of its footprint.
Watch out
Amount is required and counts pounds per request; the customer gets an email by default, except in sandbox where notifications stay off.
2

Clean Ocean

Action

In Zapier“Clean ocean waste yourself or on behalf of your customers.”

Pays for removing ocean waste, measured in pounds, on your behalf or for a customer who just did something worth rewarding.

When to use it
a beachwear or travel brand ties each sale to waste pulled out of the sea.
Watch out
the Amount field is mandatory and starts at 1 pound per request.
3

Donate Money

Action

In Zapier“Contribute money for any cause, even if it is not directly supported by us.”

Sends a donation to a cause, including causes that 1ClickImpact does not list directly.

When to use it
an event organizer gives a share of each ticket to a charity of their choice.
Watch out
Amount is in the smallest US dollar unit, so 100 means $1; typing 1 sends one cent.
4

Plant Tree

Action

In Zapier“Plant trees yourself or on behalf of customers.”

Plants a number of trees per request, for you or on behalf of the person who triggered the Zap.

When to use it
a newsletter or a SaaS product thanks each new subscriber with a tree in their name.
Watch out
Amount is the count of trees for that single run, so a fixed value plants the same number every time.
5

Restore Coral

Action

In Zapier“Restore corals yourself or on behalf of customers.”

Funds the restoration of coral, counted in fragments, either as your own commitment or in a customer's name.

When to use it
a diving school or a seafood shop links each booking or order to the reefs.
Watch out
Amount counts coral fragments, not pounds or money, and is required on every run.
When it breaks

When the 1ClickImpact Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to 1ClickImpact, and the app lists no limit of its own. The failures below come from how Zapier works and from the Amount field.

Four situations explain most surprises. Two are general Zapier behavior, two are about amounts. If a Zap still misbehaves, the Zapier troubleshooting guide goes through the checks in order.

  • Past orders get no impact

A Zap only reacts to events after you switch it on. Orders or signups from before are never picked up; handling that backlog is a separate job.
  • A bulk import gets held back

If the starting app suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.
  • The donation is a hundred times too small

Donate Money reads the Amount in the smallest US dollar unit. Typing 1 sends one cent; $1 is 100 and $0.10 is 10.
  • The Amount is missing or zero

Every action requires an Amount of at least 1. A mapped field that arrives empty from the trigger leaves the action with nothing valid to order.

FAQ

1ClickImpact Zapier integration: questions

01Is the 1ClickImpact Zapier integration free?
On the Zapier side, yes, within the two-step limit. 1ClickImpact is not a premium app, so the free plan includes it, with 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. Each Zap on Free holds one trigger and one action: an order that plants trees fits, an order that goes through a filter first does not. The count is per action, whatever the number of trees or the size of the donation you set.
02How many tasks does a 1ClickImpact Zap use?
One task per successful 1ClickImpact action, nothing for the rest. The trigger in the other app is free, and so is Zapier looking for new data. A Zap that plants trees on each order uses one task per order; one that also captures carbon uses two. A failed action is not counted. On the free plan, 100 tasks a month means 100 orders handled by a one-action Zap. The quantity you set in Amount does not change the task count.
03Does 1ClickImpact on Zapier work in real time?
It depends entirely on the app that starts the Zap, since 1ClickImpact has no trigger of its own. If that app offers an instant trigger, it tells Zapier right away and the action follows. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks on a timer: every 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. In the editor, a lightning bolt marks a Zap built on an instant trigger.
04What does it take to connect 1ClickImpact to Zapier?
A 1ClickImpact account and a Zapier account. On the Apps page of Zapier, click + Add connection, search for 1ClickImpact, click Add connection, then sign in to 1ClickImpact in the tab that opens and grant access. If the Zap must act on anything owned by someone else, the connected account also needs read or write rights there. That one connection then serves every 1ClickImpact action in all your Zaps, so you set it up only once.
05Why did Donate Money send almost nothing?
Because the Amount is read in the smallest unit of the US dollar, not in dollars. To donate $1 you enter 100, and to donate $0.10 you enter 10. Typing 1 therefore sends a single cent. The other actions use other units: trees and coral fragments are counts, carbon and ocean waste are pounds. Test the Zap once and read the result before you publish it, so the scale is right from the start.
06What if the 1ClickImpact operation for the job is not there?
Then Zapier cannot do it with 1ClickImpact today. The editor offers five actions and nothing else: no trigger, so 1ClickImpact never starts a Zap, and no search, so a Zap cannot read past contributions back. The practical choice is to rework the scenario so another app starts it, or to look at another automation tool for the missing part and compare it on that single point before switching anything that already works.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for 1ClickImpact?
It comes down to your criteria rather than a winner. On Zapier, 1ClickImpact offers five actions and no trigger, and it works on the free plan for two-step Zaps. The trade-off is cost once you add filters or several actions, since each successful action is a task. Write down the steps your scenario needs and how many runs a month it makes, then check that same scenario in Make and in n8n before you commit.
