Overview

What the Accumen Zapier integration does for outbound

Hooking Accumen up to Zapier means every decision-maker whose email has just been verified leaves the prospecting tool and lands where your team works, without copy and paste. Accumen finds the people who decide at the companies you target and checks their address first. Zapier takes it from there, with a single trigger.

A heads-up for the SDR on duty. An outbound team wires New Verified Contact to Slack. Each freshly verified buyer shows up in the channel, and whoever picks it up claims it with an emoji.

A clean HubSpot record. A SaaS startup sends the same trigger to HubSpot, so a contact only enters the CRM once its address checks out. No more bounced first emails clogging the pipeline and no cleanup job down the line.

A row in the founder's Airtable base. A two-person agency logs every verified lead in Airtable, then reviews the list when it plans the next round of outreach. Same trigger, three very different outputs.

What Zapier can't do with Accumen: write anything back. The app has no actions and no searches on Zapier, so a Zap can't add a target company, look up a contact or rerun a check. Zapier also flags Accumen as beta. If two-way sync matters, the Make vs Zapier comparison is a good place to weigh the options.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven Zapier words, each shown with what it means for your verified Accumen contacts. Read them once and the rest of the page flows.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier. Here: Accumen verifies a contact, then one or more actions run in other apps.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap. Accumen has exactly one, New Verified Contact: a decision-maker's address just checked out.
Action
What the Zap does next, always in another app. Accumen offers none, so nothing a Zap does ever lands back in it.
Task
What Zapier bills: one successful action. Sending one verified contact to your CRM costs one task, nothing more.
Polling vs instant
Accumen works by polling: Zapier asks it for new contacts on a timer. An instant trigger is one the app reports by itself.
Filter
A step that stops the Zap when a verified contact misses your condition. Adding one makes it a multi-step Zap, so a paid one.
Connection
Your Accumen account linked to Zapier once. Every Zap that starts from New Verified Contact reuses that link.
Cost

What Accumen on Zapier really costs

Watching Accumen is free. You only pay, in tasks, for what the Zap does with each verified contact.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month
  • Steps on free2: one trigger, one action
  • Premium appNo

Zapier bills in tasks, one per successful action. New Verified Contact uses none, and neither do Zapier's checks on Accumen, however often they run. Push each contact to a CRM and it costs one task; add a team alert and it costs two. A failed action is not counted.

The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps and a check every 15 minutes. What it really caps is shape: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second destination makes the Zap multi-step, so paid. Accumen itself is not a premium app.

Connect

Connect your Accumen account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Find Accumen in Zapier

In Zapier, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. Type Accumen in the dialog and pick it. Zapier tags the app as beta, but that label doesn't lock it to a paid plan.

  2. 02

    Sign in to Accumen

Click Add connection. A tab opens on Accumen's side: sign in with the account that follows your target companies, since that is where the verified contacts will come from.

  3. 03

    Let Zapier in

Grant the access Zapier asks for. Every Zap built on New Verified Contact will reuse this connection. If the targets you follow belong to a teammate, check that you can read them first.

First Zap

Build your first Zap with the Accumen Zapier integration

GoalEvery decision-maker Accumen verifies becomes a HubSpot contact, and the SDR channel on Slack gets a heads-up.

  1. 01

Create the Zap and pick the trigger

In the editor, choose Accumen as the app that starts the Zap, then the New Verified Contact event. Select the connection you made above, or add it right there.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier pulls in the three most recent verified contacts from the account; pick a real one, since it becomes the sample you map from.

  3. 03

    Add the HubSpot step

Add HubSpot's Create Contact action and map its fields from what the trigger returned. Test the step and open HubSpot to check the new record.

  4. 04

    Add the Slack alert

Add Slack's Send Channel Message so the team hears about it, then test it. Two actions make this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Publish

Hit Publish to switch the Zap on. From now on each new verified contact runs it, at the polling pace of your plan, every 15 minutes on Free.

Triggers

The Accumen trigger on Zapier

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Accumen. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Verified Contact

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a decision-maker's email address is verified at a company you are targeting.”

This trigger starts your Zap whenever Accumen confirms the email address of a decision-maker at one of the companies on your target list. It is the only point where Accumen hands anything to Zapier, so every workflow begins here.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
when an outbound team wants each verified buyer in its CRM or chat before anyone writes the first email.
Watch out
contacts verified before the Zap went live are never picked up.
When it breaks

When it breaks, and why

Accumen only sends data out, so the surprises come from Zapier's timing and from your history.

Zapier links no help article to Accumen and publishes no limit specific to it. Since nothing gets written into Accumen, every failure happens on the way out, around New Verified Contact. The Zapier troubleshooting page walks through the usual suspects.

  • Older contacts stay behind

Decision-makers verified before the Zap went live stay in Accumen. New Verified Contact only sees the ones after; moving the backlog is a separate job.
  • A wave after a bulk import

After a bulk import into Accumen, a trigger that suddenly returns a huge batch of contacts can be held back by Zapier's flood protection.
  • One contact, one run

Zapier remembers which contacts New Verified Contact has already returned, so the trigger never sends the same decision-maker to your CRM twice.
  • No loop on the Accumen side

The classic trap, a Zap writing where its own trigger watches, can't start here: no Zapier action writes into Accumen.

FAQ

Accumen and Zapier: common questions

01Is the Accumen Zapier integration free?
Yes, and the beta label doesn't change that: Accumen is not one of the apps Zapier keeps for paid plans. The free plan is enough to send each verified contact to one other app, with 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps and a check every 15 minutes. The limit is the Zap's shape: New Verified Contact plus a single action. Filling the CRM and alerting the team at once, or filtering contacts, takes a paid plan.
02How many tasks does an Accumen Zap use?
One task per successful action, and none for the trigger. A Zap that creates a HubSpot contact for each verified lead costs one task per lead. Add a Slack message behind it and each lead costs two. Zapier checking Accumen for new contacts is free however often it runs, and a failed action is not counted. With one action and the 100 tasks of the free plan, the math stays simple: one verified lead, one task.
03Is it real time?
No. New Verified Contact is a polling trigger: Zapier asks Accumen for new contacts on a timer. How often depends on the plan, every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 minutes on Professional, every minute on Team and Enterprise. The trigger type comes from Accumen and can't be switched in the editor. On paid plans you can tune the interval and run a check by hand from the editor, which helps while testing.
04What do you need to connect Accumen to Zapier?
An Accumen account that follows your target companies, and a Zapier account. On Zapier's Apps page, click + Add connection, search for Accumen and click Add connection, then sign in in the tab that opens and allow access. Because Accumen only offers New Verified Contact, Zapier just reads verified contacts and changes nothing in your account. If a teammate owns the targets, you need read access to them. The same connection then serves every Accumen Zap you build.
05Why don't contacts verified before the Zap show up?
Because a Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Decision-makers Accumen verified earlier will never come through New Verified Contact, even once the Zap is running. Zapier also tracks the contacts it has already seen, so the same one never starts the Zap twice. If you need the backlog in your CRM, treat it as a one-off import, separate from the Zap, before or after you switch it on.
06What if the operation you need isn't there?
Accumen offers exactly one trigger on Zapier, New Verified Contact, with no actions and no searches. Anything that means writing into Accumen, adding a target or fetching one specific contact is out of reach for a Zap. What leaves Accumen, on the other hand, can go to any app Zapier supports. If your need runs the other way, look at another automation tool or at what Accumen offers on its own.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Accumen?
For Accumen, the first criterion is direction. On Zapier, data only flows out: one trigger, no actions. If that one-way flow is enough, Zapier is the quickest to pick up and bills per successful action, which keeps small volumes cheap. Make counts usage differently and handles branching well, handy for splitting contacts between reps. n8n can run on your own server, which matters when prospect data must stay in-house. Check what each tool actually offers for Accumen before you pick.
