Overview

What the AI Scraper by Parsera Zapier integration does

Parsera turns a web page into data you can use. Scraping, in plain words, means reading a page automatically and keeping only the parts you care about. On Zapier, Parsera is a pure worker: it has five actions and no trigger, so another app always decides when it runs and which page it reads.

Three results people build with it. A clean table from a product page. Extract URL reads a page and returns the fields you defined, ready to drop into a sheet or a CRM. Text an AI step can digest. Page to Markdown strips a page down to readable text, which a summary or translation step then works on. Data behind a click. Interact and Extract sends an AI agent to the page, lets it navigate and interact, then brings back what your prompt asked for. For pages you already scrape regularly, Run Configured Scraper replays a scraper you set up on parsera.org, and Parse HTML handles HTML that another step already fetched.

What Zapier does not do here: it can't notice that a page changed, because Parsera has no trigger. It can't look anything up in Parsera either, since there is no search. Something else has to start the Zap: a new row, a form, an email. And the Zap only acts on what arrives after you switch it on, never on old rows.

Not sure Zapier is the right fit? Our Zapier review covers the platform as a whole, and n8n vs Zapier sets the two platforms side by side.

Vocabulary

The Zapier words you'll meet here

Seven words carry this whole page. Here they are without jargon.

Zap
A Zapier automation: a starting event, then one or several steps that follow, replayed every time that event occurs.
Trigger
Whatever kicks the Zap off. Parsera has none, so the trigger always comes from another app, like a sheet or a form.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you. All five Parsera operations are actions.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One action completed successfully is one task, and your plan is a monthly count of those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked on a timer; an instant one is pushed the moment it happens. It matters here through the other app's trigger.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when incoming data meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap with more than one trigger and one action. A filter, a search or a second action makes it one, and it needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a scraping Zap costs you

AI Scraper by Parsera is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. Zapier bills in tasks, and here every Parsera step is an action, so every successful run counts.

  • Premium appNo, available without paying
  • Free plan100 tasks monthly, one trigger plus one action
  • Parsera actionOne task per extraction that succeeds
  • TriggerFrom another app, zero tasks

The trigger from the other app costs nothing. Each Parsera action that goes through is one task; a failed one is not billed. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps only: one trigger, one Parsera action. Writing the result back to a sheet adds a second action, which makes the Zap multi-step and moves you to a paid plan. How fast it starts depends on that other app's trigger and the grid below.

Connect

Connect AI Scraper by Parsera to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In Zapier, go to the Apps page and click + Add connection. You need a Parsera account before you start, plus access to anything you do not own yourself but want the Zap to read or write.

  2. 02

    Find Parsera

Search for AI Scraper by Parsera in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab then opens so you can sign in on the Parsera side.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log into Parsera in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is then reused by every Parsera step in every Zap, so you only do this once.

First Zap

Your first Zap: turn a list of URLs into data

GoalEach time a row with a page URL is added to a sheet, extract the fields you want from that page and write them back.

  1. 01

    Build the trigger

Create a Zap and pick your sheet app as the trigger, set on new rows. Test it: Zapier brings back the three latest rows, so you map from a real one.

  2. 02

    Add a filter

Under the trigger, hit the plus icon and pick Filter. Point it at the URL column with a text rule, so rows without an address stop here.

  3. 03

    Add Extract URL

Choose AI Scraper by Parsera and Extract URL. Map the URL column, pick the Columns Input Format and the Extraction Mode, then define the fields you want back.

  4. 04

    Write the result back

Add a sheet step that updates the same row with what Parsera returned. Update it rather than adding a new row: a new row in the watched sheet would set the Zap off again.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test each step once and read what came back. When the data looks right, click Publish. With four steps, this Zap needs a paid plan, even though each step on its own is simple.

Actions

AI Scraper by Parsera actions on Zapier

AI Scraper by Parsera gives you 5 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Interact and Extract

Action

In Zapier“Navigate, interact with and extract data from a webpage using AI agent”

Sends an AI agent to a page, lets it click and move around, then returns the data your prompt describes in plain words.

When to use it
the figures you want only appear after opening a tab or loading more results.
Watch out
the prompt is required and does the whole job, so name exactly which items and which details you expect back.
2

Page to Markdown

Action

In Zapier“Convert a webpage URL to clean markdown text”

Converts the page at a given URL into clean markdown text, ready for a step that works on words rather than fields.

When to use it
an AI step further down needs to summarize, translate or classify an article and works better on plain text.
Watch out
it returns text, not separate fields; for columns, Extract URL is the better pick.
3

Extract URL

Action

In Zapier“Extract structured data from a webpage URL”

Reads the page at a given address and returns the fields you defined as structured data, one value per column.

When to use it
you keep a list of product or listing pages and want price, title and stock in a sheet.
Watch out
if a value sits inside the page's HTML elements rather than in visible text, switch the Extraction Mode.
4

Parse HTML

Action

In Zapier“Extract structured data from raw HTML content”

Works on HTML or text you already have, with no page to visit, and pulls out the fields you set as structured data.

When to use it
an email or an earlier step already carries the page content and you just want the values out of it.
Watch out
Mode and Columns Input Format are both required, on top of the content itself.
5

Run Configured Scraper

Action

In Zapier“Run a pre-configured scraper from parsera.org”

Replays a scraper you built and tuned on parsera.org, so the Zap reuses settings you already tested instead of starting over.

When to use it
the same kind of page gets scraped again and again and you want identical columns each time.
Watch out
only extractors created on parsera.org show up in the list; none exists by default.
When it breaks

When the Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to Parsera, so the cases below are the general ones, read through a scraping Zap.

None of them shows up while you build. They appear later, in your task history or as empty columns.

  • Old rows are never scraped

A Zap only reacts to what arrives after you publish it. URLs already sitting in your sheet stay untouched; running them is a separate job.
  • The sheet triggers itself

If Parsera's result is written as a new row in the sheet the trigger watches, each write starts the Zap again and drains your tasks fast.
  • A bulk paste gets held

Pasting hundreds of URLs at once can make the trigger return a huge batch, which Zapier's flood protection may hold back instead of running it.
  • An empty URL stops the action

Every Parsera action except Run Configured Scraper needs a URL or HTML content. A blank mapped cell makes the step fail, which a filter prevents.

FAQ

AI Scraper by Parsera Zapier integration: FAQ

01Is the AI Scraper by Parsera Zapier integration free?
Yes, on the Zapier side it runs on the free plan, because AI Scraper by Parsera is not a premium app. That plan gives 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps: one trigger from another app and one Parsera action. It covers a simple case, such as a form that sends a URL to Page to Markdown. As soon as you write the result somewhere, add a filter or chain two actions, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does Parsera use on Zapier?
One task per Parsera action that succeeds, since all five operations are actions. The trigger from the other app never costs a task, and a failed action is not billed. In a Zap that extracts a page then updates a row, each run uses two tasks, because every successful action counts on its own. Checking the other app for new data is free too. To size your month, multiply the number of pages you expect to process by the number of actions in the Zap.
03Does AI Scraper by Parsera work in real time on Zapier?
It depends entirely on the app that starts the Zap, because Parsera has no trigger. If that app's trigger is instant, it reports the event to Zapier at once and the Parsera action runs right after, whatever your plan. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks it on a timer: every 15 minutes on the free plan, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. Parsera then works as soon as its step is reached. An instant trigger shows a lightning bolt in the editor.
04What do you need to connect a Parsera account?
An existing Parsera account, plus access to anything you don't own but the Zap should use. The connection goes through the Apps page, then + Add connection, a search for the app, sign-in in the new tab and access granted to Zapier. After that, each action asks for its own inputs. Most want a URL, Parse HTML wants the HTML content, and Run Configured Scraper wants an extractor already created on parsera.org, or the list stays empty.
05Which Parsera action should you pick for a page?
Pick by what the page looks like and what you want back. Extract URL suits a visible page whose values you want as columns. Interact and Extract fits pages where the data appears only after clicking or scrolling, guided by a prompt. Page to Markdown returns readable text for an AI step to process. Parse HTML works on content another step already fetched. Run Configured Scraper replays an extractor you tuned on parsera.org, for recurring pages where the columns must stay identical.
06What if the Parsera operation is missing on Zapier?
Then Zapier's catalogue for Parsera doesn't include it. There are five actions and nothing else: no trigger that watches a page for changes, no search, no step to manage extractors. Two ways around it. Use a trigger from another app, such as a schedule or a new row, to start the extraction yourself. Or keep the steps around Parsera in other apps: a schedule or a form decides when, a sheet stores what comes back.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for AI Scraper by Parsera?
Judge by three criteria rather than by a ranking. Cost first: a scraping Zap that writes its result back is already multi-step on Zapier, so a paid plan, and every successful Parsera action is one task. Volume next: multiply the pages you expect by the actions per run, then compare that with how each platform bills a run. Upkeep last: who on your team will maintain the automation. On Zapier, the facts are on this page; put the same questions to the other two before choosing.
