Overview

What the allmysms Zapier integration actually does

The allmysms Zapier integration lets another app tell allmysms to send a text or a voicemail, so nobody copies phone numbers by hand anymore. allmysms has no trigger of its own on Zapier. It always sits second in the Zap: something happens elsewhere, and allmysms delivers the message.

Three outcomes it produces. An appointment reminder: a booking lands in your scheduling tool, and Send SMS texts the client with the date. A sales alert: a lead fills a form, and the same action pings the rep's phone, or the whole team's, with several numbers separated by semicolons. A spoken message for customers who never read texts: Send Voicemail leaves a voicemail on French mobiles.

What Zapier does not do here. Nothing that happens inside allmysms can start a Zap, because the app exposes no trigger at all. Voicemails stop at the French border. And Zapier will not trim your message for you: past 160 characters, allmysms bills a long text as several SMS.

So plan the template length and the recipient country before building, not after the first invoice. Those two fields cause most surprises.

Weighing your options? The allmysms Make integration covers the same app on Make, and n8n vs Zapier weighs the two platforms against each other.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words, and the rest of the page reads without a dictionary.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap. allmysms has none, so the trigger always comes from a different tool, like a form or a CRM.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started. With allmysms, the two possible actions send a text or leave a voicemail.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action completed successfully. Your plan's monthly allowance is a count of those.
Polling or instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself, the moment the event happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Connection
Your allmysms account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that sends a message through allmysms.
Cost

What an allmysms Zap costs you in tasks

The trigger never costs a task, and neither do Zapier's checks for new data, however often it looks. Only an action that goes through is billed. A failed one is not counted.

  • Trigger0 tasks
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps
  • Premium appNo

allmysms is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan: 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, two steps per Zap. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which requires a paid plan. How fast the other app's polling trigger reacts depends on your plan (grid below). Separately, allmysms bills the texts on its side, so a Zap that runs free on Zapier still spends SMS credit with every send.

Connect

Connect allmysms to Zapier in 3 steps

  1. 01

Open Apps and add a connection

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. A dialog opens: type allmysms in the search box and pick it from the list of results.

  2. 02

    Confirm and sign in

Click Add connection. A new tab opens on allmysms: sign in with the account the Zap will send from. If the Zap texts lists you do not manage yourself, that account needs access to them.

  3. 03

    Grant access

Give Zapier access to the account. The connection now shows in your Apps list, and every step that uses allmysms reuses it, so the sign-in happens once per account, not once per Zap.

First Zap

Your first Zap: a text for every new contact row

GoalText each new contact added to a sheet, but only when the phone column is filled in.

  1. 01

    Build: pick the starting app

Create a Zap and choose Google Sheets with New Spreadsheet Row as the trigger. Point it at the sheet where new contacts land, one row per person.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent rows of the connected sheet, so you map fields on real data instead of guessing column names.

  3. 03

    Add a filter

Click the plus icon, add Filter, then set the field (the phone column), the rule and the value. Rows without a number stop here. This step makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add Send SMS

Pick allmysms, then Send SMS. Map the phone column into the number field and write the message, with the first name pulled from the sheet. Under 160 characters, it leaves as a single SMS.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test the action on your own phone first, since the text really goes out. Once it arrives looking right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.

Actions

The 2 allmysms actions

allmysms gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Send SMS

Action

In Zapier“Sends a new SMS message.”

Pushes a text from your allmysms account to one mobile or to a whole list at once, with wording built from whatever the trigger brought in.

When to use it
a booking confirmation, a delivery notice or an internal alert that has to reach a phone rather than an inbox.
Watch out
numbers go in international format, split by semicolons, and past 160 characters the message is billed as several SMS, in groups of 153 characters.
2

Send Voicemail

Action

In Zapier“Sends a new voicemail (for French mobile phones only).”

Leaves a voicemail on French mobile phones instead of a text, for customers who listen to their messages but skim past their SMS.

When to use it
a payment reminder or a call-back request for a customer base located in France.
Watch out
the service covers France only, and the From field must hold a French number, landline or mobile. Contacts abroad fall outside it.
When it breaks

When an allmysms Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to allmysms. Most failures come from Zapier's general rules, or from the two actions' own required fields.

Four cases to rule out before blaming allmysms. If the problem sits deeper in the Zap, Zapier troubleshooting walks through the editor side.

  • Older contacts never get the text

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Rows or leads that already existed are not picked up, and sending to that backlog is a separate job.
  • A bulk import gets held back

Import a big contact list at once and the trigger returns a huge batch. Zapier's flood protection can hold it back rather than fire a wave of SMS.
  • One message, several SMS billed

Past 160 characters, allmysms bills the text as several SMS, in groups of 153 characters. A long merged field, like a full address, pushes a short template over the line.
  • Voicemail to a number abroad

Send Voicemail covers French mobiles only and requires a French From number. A Belgian or Spanish contact in the same list falls outside the service.

FAQ

allmysms and Zapier: frequent questions

01Is the allmysms Zapier integration free?
Yes on the Zapier side, within limits. allmysms is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan, which gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The catch is the shape of the Zap: the free plan builds two steps only, one trigger and one action. A filter, a second action or a search turns it into a multi-step Zap, and that needs a paid plan. The texts themselves are billed by allmysms, and past 160 characters a single message counts as several SMS.
02How many Zapier tasks does an allmysms text use?
One successful Send SMS or Send Voicemail step counts as one task. The trigger from the other app costs nothing, and neither do Zapier's checks for new data. An action that fails is not counted against the plan. In a Zap with two allmysms actions, say a text followed by a voicemail, each one that succeeds is billed on its own, so every run eats two tasks. On the free plan, that halves the number of contacts the 100 monthly tasks can reach.
03Does allmysms send texts in real time?
It depends on the app that starts the Zap, because allmysms has no trigger of its own. If that app uses an instant trigger, it calls Zapier the moment the event happens and the text leaves right after, whatever the plan. If it uses a polling trigger, Zapier checks on a timer: every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 minutes on Professional, every minute on Team and Enterprise. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt.
04What does it take to connect allmysms to Zapier?
An allmysms account and a Zapier account. From the Apps page in Zapier, click + Add connection, search for allmysms, click Add connection, sign in on the tab that opens and grant access. The connection is then reused by every step that sends through allmysms. Before the first test, get the numbers ready in international format, separated by semicolons. For voicemail, also have a French sender number at hand, landline or mobile, because the From field is mandatory.
05Can allmysms send voicemails outside France?
No. Send Voicemail works for French mobile phones only, and its From field must hold a French number, landline or mobile. For contacts abroad, Send SMS is the action to pick, with numbers in international format. A practical setup is a filter on the country prefix right before the voicemail step, so only French numbers ever reach it. Keep in mind that the filter makes the Zap multi-step, which moves it onto a paid plan.
06What if allmysms lacks the action a workflow requires?
On Zapier, allmysms offers two actions and nothing else: Send SMS and Send Voicemail. There is no trigger and no search, so nothing inside allmysms can start a Zap or look up an existing contact. When a step is missing, the usual route is to handle that part in another app of the same Zap, or to check how Make or n8n expose allmysms. A typical case: the contact list lives in a sheet or a CRM, which the Zap reads before handing the numbers to Send SMS.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for allmysms?
There is no single winner, only criteria. Start with coverage: on Zapier, allmysms brings two actions and no trigger, so check what each platform offers for the same app before choosing. Then look at billing: Zapier counts one task per successful action, and the free plan stops at two-step Zaps. Finally, think about upkeep, meaning who will maintain the flow once it runs and how comfortable that person is with each editor. Those three answers usually settle the choice faster than any feature list.
