What the Liv Zapier integration does for a landlord
The Liv Zapier integration links your Liv account, the platform where landlords and tenants meet around listings on liv.rent, to Zapier, a service that makes apps work together without code. It does one thing: tell Zapier each time a lead comes in on one of your listings, so another app can take over.
A lead log that fills itself. New Lead Received starts the Zap, and each lead becomes a row in your spreadsheet. You keep every enquiry in one place, listing by listing, without copying anything, and you can sort them later the way you like.
An alert that doesn't wait for you. The same trigger can feed your email tool, which sends you a message the moment the lead arrives, since the trigger is instant. You answer while the tenant is still looking.
A contact ready in your CRM. Point the Zap at your CRM instead, and every person who enquires shows up as a contact you can follow up on, next to the rest of your relationships.
What Zapier won't do here. Liv has no action and no search on Zapier. A Zap can't write anything back into Liv, can't update a listing, and can't look up an earlier lead. Liv only speaks first; what happens next lives in other apps. To see how Zapier compares, try Make vs Zapier or our Zapier review.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words from the editor, in plain English. The rest of the page uses them without a reminder.
- Zap
- Your automation on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. With Liv, that event is a new lead on one of your listings.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you. With Liv, it always runs in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully; your plan counts those and nothing else.
- Polling vs instant
- Polling: Zapier checks an app on a timer. Instant: the app tells Zapier itself, the moment it happens. Liv's trigger is instant.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when the incoming data meets the condition you set, and stops it there otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Liv account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that starts from a Liv lead.
- Multi-step Zap
- Anything beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action turns a Zap into one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What it really costs
Zapier bills tasks, and Liv itself never costs one: the trigger is free, only the actions in other apps count.
- Premium appNo, it works on the free plan
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
- Steps per Zap on Free2: the trigger, one action
- Cost of the trigger0 tasks
New Lead Received starts the Zap at no cost. Each action that succeeds afterwards counts as one task; one that fails isn't counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, and two steps per Zap: the Liv trigger plus one action. Add a filter or a second action and you need a paid plan. The interval grid below is Zapier's standard one for polling triggers; it does not apply to Liv, whose only trigger is instant on every plan.
Connect Liv to Zapier in 3 steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In Zapier, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a Liv account already, plus access to any listing you don't own but want the Zap to hear about.
- 02
Pick Liv
Type Liv in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Liv side so you can finish linking the two accounts.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Sign in to Liv in that tab and grant Zapier access to your account. The connection then appears on the Apps page, and every Zap that starts from a Liv lead reuses it.
Your first Zap: every Liv lead logged in a spreadsheet
GoalEach time a new lead comes in on one of your listings, add a row with its details to your spreadsheet, then send yourself an email.
- 01
Create the Zap and set the trigger
Start a new Zap, choose Liv as the app that starts it and New Lead Received as the event. Pick your Liv connection when Zapier asks for it.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of your account, so you map the next steps on a real enquiry instead of a blank one.
- 03
Add the spreadsheet row
Add your spreadsheet as the first action and map the lead details to its columns. Map only what you will use; the test lead shows you what Liv actually sends.
- 04
Add the email
Click the plus icon and add your email tool as a second action. Two actions make the Zap multi-step, so this one needs a paid plan; drop it to stay on Free.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test each step, check the new row and the email, then click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, each lead runs through it.
The Liv trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Liv, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Lead Received
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when there's a new Lead for a listing.”
New Lead Received starts your Zap whenever someone enquires about one of your listings, and hands the lead details to the steps that follow.
When it breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Liv, so the failures you might meet are Zapier's general ones.
Three cases matter with this trigger. None is specific to Liv, and each one can make you miss a lead or a reply. If one of them blocks you, our Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.
Older leads never arrive
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Enquiries that came in before stay in Liv; moving that history elsewhere is a separate job.A burst of leads gets held back
When a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch at once, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back instead of running them. The free plan stops at two steps
The free plan stops at two steps: the Liv trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, and it then needs a paid plan to run.
