Mensagia Zapier integrationAutomate Mensagia with Zapier.
The Mensagia Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers and 6 actions to send SMS, voice campaigns and emails from what happens in your other apps. Mensagia is not premium, so it runs on the free plan. Here is what each action needs before it sends.

What the Mensagia Zapier integration actually does
Mensagia sends business SMS, voice messages and emails. On Zapier it works in one direction only: a Zap (the automation you build on Zapier) starts from an event in another app, then Mensagia does the sending. Nothing that happens inside Mensagia can start a Zap, because the app has no trigger on Zapier.
A text that goes out when someone fills in a form. Your form tool records a new entry and Send SMS texts the number it carries, from a sender name already registered in Mensagia, in 160 characters at most.
A campaign sent to whole groups. Send SMS Campaign pushes one message to one or more groups saved in your Mensagia account, and names the campaign so you find it on the platform afterwards.
A templated email with a verified sender. Send Transactional Email uses your custom Mensagia templates and sends to up to 5 addresses per run.
What Zapier does not do here. There is no trigger, so a reply, a delivery or a new contact in Mensagia never starts anything. There is no search either, so a Zap cannot look up an existing Mensagia contact before writing. And there is no update or delete action: what the Zap creates, you edit in Mensagia. If you are weighing tools for this, see our Make vs Zapier comparison.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words come back throughout this page. Here they are once, in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Mensagia has none on Zapier, so the trigger always comes from another app.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that sends or writes something for you, like an SMS through Mensagia.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan is a count of those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer; an instant one is reported by its app the moment it happens. It depends on the other app here.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it there otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Mensagia Zap really costs
Mensagia is not a premium app, so it works on Zapier's free plan. You pay in tasks, and only actions that succeed are counted.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, two steps each
- Mensagia triggersNone, the Zap starts in another app
- Failed actionNot counted
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
The trigger in the other app costs nothing, however often Zapier checks it. Each Mensagia action that goes through counts one task; one that fails is not billed. A Zap that creates a contact and then sends an SMS uses two tasks per run. That same Zap has two actions, so it is multi-step and the free plan does not run it. The interval grid below applies only if the other app's trigger is a polling one.
Connect Mensagia to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In your Zapier account, go to the Apps page and click + Add connection. You need a Mensagia account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
- 02
Pick Mensagia
Type Mensagia in the search box of the dialog, select it from the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Mensagia side for the sign-in.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Log in to Mensagia in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is saved once and reused by every Zap step that sends through Mensagia.
Your first Zap: text people who fill in your form
GoalWhen your form tool records a new entry that meets your condition, send an SMS to the number given in the form through Mensagia.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap in the editor and give it a name. With its filter it has three steps, so it is a multi-step Zap and needs a paid plan or the free trial.
- 02
Set the trigger
Pick your form tool and its new-entry event, then test it. Zapier brings back the three most recent entries of the account, so you map the rest on a real one.
- 03
Set the filter
Add a Filter from the plus icon and fill its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule and the value. Use a rule of the right type, text or number, or it never passes.
- 04
Add Send SMS
Pick Mensagia and
Send SMS. Fill Sender with a registered name, write the Message under 160 characters, and map the phone number into Number with its country prefix. - 05
Test, then publish
Run the action test and read what comes back to check that Sender, Message and Number were filled as expected. When it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
The 6 Mensagia actions
Mensagia gives you 6 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

When a Mensagia Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Mensagia and no Mensagia-specific limit is documented. What goes wrong is what goes wrong on any Zap.
Here are the general limits to know. If you are stuck on one, our Zapier troubleshooting guide is the next stop.
Past entries get no message
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. People who filled in your form before that receive nothing; reaching them is a separate job.A Zap that restarts itself
A Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again. With SMS actions, that burns tasks and sends repeats.A big batch held back
When the trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import for example, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back instead of sending to everyone. No double send from polling
On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so the same form entry does not start the Zap twice and text the same person again.
