Overview

What the MyRent Zapier integration actually does

It lets what happens in your MyRent rental software start work in your other tools. Zapier runs automations called Zaps: each one waits for an event in one app, then does something in another. With MyRent the event is always on the MyRent side, because the integration offers nine triggers and nothing else.

A live sheet of bookings. New Reservation Created adds each booking to a spreadsheet once Zapier spots it, and Reservation Is Updated lets a second Zap follow the changes. Nobody exports a list by hand.

Customers that reach your CRM. New Customer Created and New Driver Created pass each new record on, so your CRM learns about each person at the next check, without a manual export.

A clean end to each agreement. RentalAgreement Is Closed starts whatever follows in your other tools: a row in a sheet, a message to the team. The three movement triggers do the same for what MyRent records as movements.

What Zapier does not do here: it cannot write anything into MyRent, since the integration has no action, and it cannot look up a reservation or a customer, since it has no search. All nine triggers are polling ones, so nothing starts the instant a booking is made. And no Zap goes back over records that existed before it was switched on.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary, in plain words

Seven words come back on this page. Here is what each one means when the Zap starts in MyRent.

Zap
The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap, such as a new reservation in MyRent. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started. With MyRent, every action comes from another app: a sheet, a CRM, an email tool.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The count on your plan is a count of those.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer: it asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only what is new. All nine here are.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a MyRent Zap costs you

The nine MyRent triggers never cost a task, however often Zapier checks them. What Zapier bills is the action that follows in the other app, once per successful run.

  • Premium appNo, MyRent works on the free plan
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
  • Trigger costNone, only successful actions count
  • MyRent triggers9, all polling

An action that fails is not counted, and in a Zap with several actions each successful one counts on its own; a few apps and actions take more than one task. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Because all nine triggers are polling ones, the interval grid below applies to them directly: it is how long a new record can wait before Zapier sees it.

Connect

Connect your MyRent account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your MyRent account linked once, then reused by every step that reads from MyRent.

  2. 02

    Pick MyRent

Type MyRent in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the MyRent sign-in screen, where the rest of the setup happens.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to MyRent in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

First Zap

Your first Zap: new reservations into a spreadsheet

GoalEach new reservation in MyRent that meets your condition becomes a row in your spreadsheet.

  1. 01

    Build the trigger

Create a Zap, choose MyRent and the New Reservation Created event, then select your MyRent connection so Zapier knows which account to read.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you map fields on a real reservation, not a placeholder.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

From the plus icon, add Filter, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so this step needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add the spreadsheet step

Pick your spreadsheet app and its create-row action, then map the reservation fields from the trigger into the columns you want filled.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Run each step once and read what came back. When the row looks right in your spreadsheet, click Publish to switch the Zap on.

Triggers

MyRent triggers in Zapier

9 events start a Zap when something happens in MyRent. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

RentalAgreement Is Closed

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when Rental agreement is closed.”

Fires once a rental agreement gets closed in MyRent, and hands that agreement to the next step of your Zap.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
the end of a rental should set off follow-up work elsewhere, a message to the team or a line in a sheet.
Watch out
only agreements closed after the Zap is published come through; earlier ones stay in MyRent.
2

New Movement Created

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new movement is created.”

Picks up every new movement recorded in MyRent and passes it along, whatever happens to it later.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
you want a running log of movements as they are opened, in a sheet the team can read without a MyRent login.
Watch out
it reacts to creation only; the closing of that movement is a different trigger.
3

New Customer Created

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new customer is created.”

Starts the Zap each time a customer record is added in MyRent, so the person can be copied wherever you keep contacts.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
new customers should land in your CRM or mailing tool without anyone typing them in twice.
Watch out
it sees new customers only; changes to an existing customer do not start it.
4

New Driver Created

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new driver is created.”

Reacts when a new driver is added in MyRent and passes the driver record on to the next step.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
drivers need to appear in a separate list or tool from customers.
Watch out
this is a separate trigger from New Customer Created; check at test what it brings back.
5

Movement Is Closed

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when an Independent movement is closed.”

Fires when what MyRent calls an independent movement is closed, and hands that movement to the next step.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
you want each closed movement logged or reported in another tool.
Watch out
RentalAgreement's Movement Is Closed is a separate trigger; check at test which movements each one brings back.
6

New RentalAgreement Created

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when new rentalagreement is created.”

Kicks off when Zapier finds a new rental agreement in MyRent on its next check, at the start of the rental rather than at its end.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
opening an agreement should set up work elsewhere, a task or a row in a shared sheet.
Watch out
it reacts to new agreements only; closing one calls for RentalAgreement Is Closed.
7

RentalAgreement's Movement Is Closed

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a movement closed for the rentalagreement.”

Fires when a movement closed for a rental agreement shows up in MyRent, and passes it to the next step.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
each closed movement inside a rental should be recorded or shared, apart from the closing of the agreement itself.
Watch out
run the test once such a movement exists, so Zapier can bring back a real one to map.
8

New Reservation Created

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when new reservation is created.”

Takes each new reservation recorded in MyRent and hands it to the Zap, which makes it a natural start for a booking log.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
every booking should reach a shared sheet, a calendar or a team channel without a manual export.
Watch out
later edits to the same reservation are handled by Reservation Is Updated, not by this trigger.
9

Reservation Is Updated

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a reservation is updated.”

Reacts to a change on an existing reservation and passes the updated version to the next step.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
a shared sheet or calendar has to follow the changes made after the booking was first created.
Watch out
creating a new row on each update can leave several rows for one booking; check at test what an update sends.
When it breaks

When a MyRent Zap breaks

Zapier lists no help article for MyRent, so the cases below come from how Zapier treats every app. None of the MyRent triggers has a mandatory field to get wrong.

Read these four cases before you publish. If a Zap still misbehaves, our Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.

  • Older records are never picked up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Reservations or agreements created earlier stay out; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • Records arrive later than expected

All nine triggers are polling ones. On the free plan Zapier checks every 15 minutes, on Professional every 2, on Team and Enterprise every minute.
  • The same item does not fire twice

Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so the same item does not start the Zap twice.
  • A big import is held back

When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration into MyRent, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.

FAQ

MyRent Zapier integration: questions people ask

01Is the MyRent Zapier integration free?
Yes, for two-step Zaps. MyRent is not a premium app, so its nine triggers work on the free plan, which gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to one trigger and one action. A new reservation copied into a spreadsheet row fits that exactly. Add a filter to keep only some reservations, or a second action such as a team message, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a MyRent Zap use?
One per successful action, per run, and none for the trigger. Zapier can check MyRent for new reservations as often as your plan allows without costing a task; only the action in the other app is billed. A Zap that writes one spreadsheet row per reservation costs one task per reservation. An action that fails is not counted. A few apps and actions take more than one task, so check the count after your first runs.
03Do MyRent triggers fire in real time?
No. All nine are polling triggers: Zapier goes to MyRent at a fixed interval and picks up what is new. On the free plan that is every 15 minutes, on Professional every 2 minutes, and every minute on Team and Enterprise. On paid plans you can also change how often a polling trigger checks, or run a check by hand from the editor. The type is set by the app itself and cannot be switched to instant from Zapier.
04What does it take to connect MyRent to Zapier?
A MyRent account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. You add the connection from the Apps page of Zapier with + Add connection, sign in to MyRent in the tab that opens and grant access. The connection is made once and reused by every MyRent trigger in every Zap you build. No MyRent trigger asks for an extra mandatory field after that.
05New Reservation Created or Reservation Is Updated: which one to use?
New Reservation Created for bookings as they come in, Reservation Is Updated for changes afterwards. The first starts the Zap once per new reservation. The second reacts each time an existing reservation changes, which suits a sheet or calendar that has to stay in step. If your Zap creates a row on every update, one booking can end up on several rows; check at test what an update sends before you publish.
06What if the MyRent operation you need is not there?
Then Zapier cannot do that step with MyRent today. The MyRent page on Zapier shows the current list of operations, and that is the reference: right now it holds nine triggers and no action or search. So anything that should create or change data inside MyRent is out of reach of this integration. The other side of the Zap stays open, because every action comes from another app. If the step must happen in MyRent, compare other automation tools first.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for MyRent?
It depends on your criteria, not on a winner. Start with your real need: on Zapier, MyRent offers nine polling triggers and nothing that writes back, so check what each tool exposes for MyRent before anything else. Then compare how often each one checks for new records on the plan you would pay for, how each one bills a run, and who on your side will maintain the automation once it is live.
