What is the best AI ad generator in 2026?
A good generator doesn't hand you a pretty picture. It ships an ad in the right size, with your brand, your product and your hook, for cents or a few dollars.
Creative fatigue is the real bottleneck in paid social. You need ten variations of one concept for feed, Stories and display, then ten more next week because the first batch burned out. A designer is expensive at that volume, and resizing in Canva eats your afternoon. AI ad generators promise to do that work in minutes.
The short answer. AdCreative.ai is the most complete for static banners resized to every ad network format, with a predicted performance score on the higher plans. Creatify is the best for product video built from a single URL, and its free plan is real. Predis.ai fits the small brand that wants ads and organic posts in one place. Meta Advantage+ creative already sits inside Ads Manager at no extra cost. Pencil handles several brands on a small budget. Atria is built for media buyers who start from competitor ads.
What other roundups skip: a credit is not a creative. Every vendor counts differently (per download, per generation, per credit that expires), and a video costs roughly ten times an image at both Creatify and Predis.ai. We converted every plan into a cost per creative and flagged the trials that roll into a paid subscription.
The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.

Scores on five criteria, explained in our method. Tools without a full review on our site (Creatify, Predis.ai, Meta Advantage+, Pencil) are scored with this page's method. Prices from the vendors' official pages in 2026, excluding tax.

How we compared and scored
This page is for people who buy paid social and search and run short on creative: the DTC founder, the freelance media buyer running five accounts, the agency shipping fresh variations every week. You want ads you can launch, not images you need to fix in Photoshop for an hour.
So the first filter is blunt: does the tool build an ad itself, in ad network sizes, with your brand and copy on it? ChatGPT and Gemini make great images, but they don't place your logo, hit the right aspect ratio or add a call to action. They're covered below, outside the ranking. Two tools often listed in this category, Revealbot (now Birch) and Adwisely, generate no creative at all: one automates budgets, the other runs retargeting.
The second filter is price. A vendor with no public pricing can't be compared on cost per ad, so Arcads, popular in the US for AI-actor UGC videos, sits outside the ranking. Canva is left out for a similar reason: we couldn't read its official pricing page.
We then scored each generator on the five criteria of our reviews. When a tool already has a full review with us, the score is carried over unchanged, so the same tool keeps the same score across the site. Value for money is judged on cost per downloadable creative, not on the headline price. And we read user reviews starting with the worst ones: trials that turned into subscriptions, credits burned on broken renders, refunds denied.

AdCreative.ai
AdCreative.ai does one job well. Upload your logo, colors and a product shot, write your message, and it returns dozens of banners in ad network sizes (square, vertical, landscape, display). Generations are unlimited: you only pay when you download. One credit equals one banner download, and a video takes several.
Starter costs $20 a month billed annually for 20 credits, so $1 per banner. Paid monthly, the same plan is $39, nearly double. The 50, 85 and 120 credit tiers (2 brands) run $45, $70 and $95 a month annually. The 50-credit tier at $45 brings a banner down to 90 cents.
The predicted score (Creative Scoring AI, which rates an ad before it runs) and video generation only unlock on Professional, $125 a month billed annually. Plenty of buyers find that out after the trial. If the score is why you're here, budget for it from day one.
Ease of use scores 4.3 out of 5 in our full AdCreative.ai review, and features 4.4. Value for money stops at 2.8: credits don't roll over, and refunds are very limited. The company started in Paris and was acquired by Appier in 2025.
Tip: the 7-day trial rolls into the plan you picked. Set a reminder the day before it ends, and only download banners you'll actually run. Generating is free, downloading isn't.
- Automatic resizing to every ad network format
- Unlimited generations, pay per download
- Predicted performance score from Professional
- ✓Widest range of static sizes in this ranking
- ✓Brand kit applied to every banner
- ✓Direct connection to Meta and Google Ads accounts
- ✗Score and video locked to $125+ plans
- ✗Credits expire at the end of each cycle
- ✗Trial auto-converts, refunds are rare
The first pick for high-volume branded static ads. Start on Starter billed annually to judge the output, and only move to Professional if you really need video and the predicted score.
Creatify
Creatify starts from a link. Paste your product page URL, it pulls the photos and description, writes a script and cuts a video ad, with an AI avatar presenting the product if you want one. You get over 300 AI actors and around 40 templates even on the free plan. It does image ads too.
The free plan is real: 10 credits renewed every month, enough for up to 2 video ads or 20 image ads, watermarked on export. So a video is 5 credits and an image half a credit. Standard at $10 a month billed annually gives 55 credits, about 11 videos: under $1 per avatar video on paper. It's also the cheapest paid plan in this ranking.
On paper, because broken renders eat credits too. User reviews keep coming back to the same issues: a face that changes between scenes, voice out of sync, a copilot that spends credits without asking. And credits expire after 2 months, so buying in bulk to stockpile makes no sense.
Billing is the other weak spot. Several customers report charges after canceling or a switch to annual, and payments are non-refundable. The simplicity and the realism of the avatars get consistent praise.
Tip: use your 2 free videos on your best-selling product before paying. If texture or fit doesn't render well (apparel, jewelry, food), no plan will fix it.
- Video ad generated from a product URL
- 300+ AI avatars on the free plan
- API from $99 for 500 credits
- ✓A real free plan to judge the output
- ✓Cheapest paid plan in the ranking
- ✓Up and running in minutes
- ✗Credits only last 2 months
- ✗Broken renders billed like good ones
- ✗Non-refundable payments, watch your cancellation
The best place to start with video ads: go free, move to Standard billed annually if your first two videos hold up, and never buy more than two months of credits.
Predis.ai
Predis.ai blends two jobs: ad generator and social publishing tool. Describe your product or paste a URL, and it produces visuals, carousels, short videos and captions. On Rise, it also auto-publishes to your accounts.
Its big strength is how clearly it prices credits. The vendor publishes the math itself: Core's 1,300 credits ($19 a month billed annually) equal about 325 images or 33 videos. That's 6 cents an image and 58 cents a video. Nobody else in this ranking tells you what you're buying this plainly.
Video costs about 40 credits each, ten times an image, yet 58 cents is still the lowest cost per video in this ranking. Creatify keeps the edge if you want avatars presenting your product. Users praise the simplicity and responsive support, and complain about limited customization and files locked once the subscription ends.
Watch the trial: 3 days only, card required, charged at the end of day three, and payments after the trial are not refunded. That's short to judge a tool like this.
Tip: prepare your product photos, brand kit and five messages before you start the trial. You'll spend the three days generating and comparing, not setting up.
- Credit equivalents published by the vendor
- Ads, carousels and posts in one place
- Auto-publishing from Rise
- ✓Lowest cost per image in the ranking
- ✓Simple, support rated responsive
- ✓Good organic companion to paid campaigns
- ✗Video costs ten times an image
- ✗3-day trial with automatic charge
- ✗Files locked after the subscription ends
The right pick if you run ads and social for a small brand on your own, especially static. Download everything as you go: the day you stop paying, file access closes.
Meta Advantage+ creative
Before paying for a subscription, check what Ads Manager already does. Meta's Advantage+ creative options generate backgrounds, expand an image to fill a vertical placement, suggest text variations and animate a photo into a short video.
The price is unbeatable: nothing beyond your media spend. If you start from a strong product shot, it's often enough for three or four variations per campaign.
Its limit fits in one word: locked in. What you make stays inside Meta, doesn't help you on Google or TikTok, and you don't get a clean file for other channels. Control is weak too: automatic enhancements can change your creative. Check which Advantage+ options are on for every campaign.
Tip: on every new campaign, open the Advantage+ creative enhancements at ad level and switch off anything you didn't choose. Keep them on one variation only, so you can compare against your original.
- Generated backgrounds, image expansion and copy variations
- Image-to-video animation
- No cost beyond media spend
- ✓Free and already installed
- ✓Facebook and Instagram placements handled
- ✓Good for multiplying variations of a strong photo
- ✗Nothing reusable outside Meta
- ✗Automatic options to check every campaign
- ✗Little control over brand guidelines
The first tool to try because it costs nothing. It's enough if you only run on Meta; once you add a second channel, you need a generator that exports files.
Pencil
Pencil is one of the early AI ad generators. It produces static and video creatives from your brand assets and handles several brands in one account, which suits freelancers managing multiple clients.
Its entry price is among the lowest here, just above Creatify Standard: $11 a month billed annually for 50 generations, 22 cents per generation. Growth at $44 annually gives 250, at the same unit cost. The Pro plan, on quote, adds ads delivered by the vendor's creative team.
Mind the word "generation": that's what Pencil counts, whether you keep the ad or not. Your real cost per kept ad depends on how much you discard: divide $11 by the ads you actually keep in a month, not by 50.
No free plan: you get six guided ads to get a feel, then you pay, with no refund once you're on a paid plan. There are too few public user reviews to draw a trend, with a few older complaints about charges after a period of no use.
Tip: spend the six free ads on your hardest brand, not your easiest. If Pencil handles that one, it will handle the rest.
- Low entry price, multi-brand
- Several brands in one account
- Team-made ads on the Pro plan
- ✓22 cents per generation billed annually
- ✓Static and video
- ✓Handy for a multi-client freelancer
- ✗Every generation counts, even discarded ones
- ✗No free plan, no refunds
- ✗Very few public user reviews
A sensible start for a small budget and several brands. Pay monthly for the first month, then switch to annual only if 50 generations covers your volume.
Atria
Atria isn't a generator first. It's a huge library of competitor ads, where you spot the visuals and hooks that have been running for a long time, plus an AI layer that helps you produce your own versions from what you found.
For a media buyer, that logic holds up: the best source of ideas is what already works for others. Its features score 4.1 out of 5 in our full Atria review.
The rest of the score is harsh. Value for money drops to 2.2: Core costs $129 a month billed annually and $219 monthly, with no free plan described. Support scores 2 out of 5. Overall: 2.9, the lowest in this ranking.
It still makes the list because it does generate ads, and because no other tool here connects research to production so directly. For a store just starting out, it's far too expensive.
Tip: only commit to Core annually if your team opens the library every week. Monthly, the same plan costs $90 more, or $1,080 a year.
- Competitor ad library
- Generation from saved ads
- 5 seats and 5 ad accounts from Core
- ✓Connects research and production
- ✓Built for teams
- ✓Features scored 4.1
- ✗Limited free plan, then $129/mo billed annually
- ✗Support scored 2 out of 5
- ✗Too expensive for a small store
For teams buying a lot of media who live on competitive research. Everyone else gets most of the job done with a $20 generator and Meta's free tools.
What an AI ad creative really costs
Every vendor counts differently: per download, per generation, per credit. Here is the cost of one creative on each tool's entry plan, at official prices excluding tax. It's a floor: it assumes you keep everything you generate.
One static banner
Predis.ai Core: about 6 cents ($19/mo annually for 325 images). Creatify Standard: about 9 cents billed annually (55 credits, half a credit per image). Pencil Core: 22 cents per generation annually. AdCreative.ai Starter: $1 annually, $1.95 monthly. AdCreative costs more but doesn't charge for misses: you generate freely and only pay for what you keep.
One video ad
Predis.ai Core: about 58 cents (33 videos for $19), the lowest here. Creatify Standard is cheapest with an avatar: 91 cents billed annually (5 credits per video). AdCreative.ai: no video before Professional, $125 a month annually. At Creatify, leave room for broken renders: users report they're billed like the good ones.
Monthly vs annual
The gap is huge at three vendors. AdCreative.ai: $39 monthly vs $20 annually on Starter. Atria: $219 vs $129. Creatify: $15 vs $10. Pay one or two months at the monthly rate to validate the output, then commit annually only once you know what you'll produce.
- Work out cost per kept creative, not per credit bought
- Check whether credits roll over or expire (end of cycle at AdCreative.ai, 2 months at Creatify)
- Find the plan where video and predicted scoring unlock
- Read the trial length and the date of the first charge
- Check whether your files stay accessible after you cancel
What makes you pay more than planned
The same complaints come up across tools in user reviews. Here they are, with the fix for each.
The traps
The trial that becomes a subscription
BillingAdCreative.ai charges the plan you picked at the end of 7 days, Predis.ai at the end of day three, and neither Creatify nor Pencil refunds once you've paid. Unexpected charges are a recurring theme in AdCreative.ai user reviews. The fix: a virtual card with a low limit, and a reminder the day before the trial ends.
- Shortest
- 3 days at Predis.ai
The credit that isn't a creative
PriceA video is 5 credits at Creatify, about 40 at Predis.ai, several at AdCreative.ai. And broken renders cost as much as good ones. Before you buy, ask how many ads you actually keep out of ten generated, and divide the price by that.
- Calculate
- Cost per kept creative
Credits that expire
PriceAt AdCreative.ai, unused credits are lost at the end of the cycle. At Creatify, they last 2 months. Buying a big tier "to have a buffer" is the worst move: pick the tier that covers a normal month.
- Creatify
- Credits last 2 months
The key feature behind the expensive plan
PlansAdCreative.ai's predicted score and video arrive at $125 a month billed annually, six times Starter. Predis.ai's auto-publishing is on Rise. List the two or three features you truly need, then find the first plan that has all of them.
- AdCreative.ai
- Video from $125 annually
The obvious "AI look"
QualityApparel, jewelry and food render poorly: texture, fit and shine come out wrong, and shoppers want to see the real product. In those categories, keep your real product photo at the center and let AI handle the background, size and copy.
- Risky categories
- Apparel, jewelry, food
Files that stay with the vendor
DataAt Predis.ai, files are locked once the subscription ends, and AdCreative.ai invoices are only available in the app. Download every ad you run and every invoice as you go, into a folder you own.
- Habit
- Download everything monthly
Use AI to find your angles, not to make everything
Advertisers on forums tend to agree: 100% AI creatives get clicks but convert worse than a real product photo. AI shines elsewhere: trying ten messaging angles fast and cheap to find the one that hooks. Here's the playbook in five steps.
The steps
Write five angles before opening any tool
An angle is the reason to buy you lead with: price, time saved, social proof, fear of missing out, visible result. An assistant like ChatGPT is great at drafting hooks for each. You walk into the generator with a brief, not a blank page.
Generate three visuals per angle
Fifteen ads in total, same size, using your real product photo when you can. With AdCreative.ai, you generate freely and only download the fifteen you keep. With Creatify or Predis.ai, keep an eye on the credit counter.
Run them on a small, equal budget
Same audience, same budget per angle, for a few days. The goal isn't profit, it's seeing which message gets the click. Turn off Meta's automatic enhancements during this phase, or you won't know what you're comparing.
Read the click, then the sale
An angle that gets clicks but no sales often has a visual that looks too good to be true. Use click-through rate to pick the angle, then cost per purchase to pick the visual. That's usually where the real photo wins back.
Produce the final version properly
Once you have a winning angle, invest in its final version: a real photo, a shot video, or an AI creative polished by a designer. Then go back to step one with five new angles, because ads wear out fast.
Other tools worth knowing
These tools come up in searches. They're not ranked because they publish no pricing, don't build ads in ad network sizes, or don't generate anything at all. Here's when they're still useful.
Other tools
Arcads: UGC videos with AI actors
No public pricingArcads makes videos in the "customer testimonial filmed on a phone" style, with over 1,000 AI actors and translation into 30+ languages. It shows no public pricing: you only see plans after creating an account, which is why it isn't ranked. User reviews are harsh (price, credits that go fast, absent support), though a minority rate its lip-sync above competitors.

The Brief (formerly Creatopy): ad design for teams
DesignThe Brief, formerly Creatopy, focuses on ad design and production for teams, with a Create plan at $29 a month, Amplify at $79 and a 7-day trial without a card. It's closer to a design workspace than a one-click generator, so it sits outside this ranking.
- Entry price
- $29/mo
Canva: manual resizing with AI help
All-purposeCanva isn't an ad generator, but plenty of advertisers use it like one: ad templates, AI tools (Magic Studio) to edit and adapt. No predicted score and no ad account connection. We couldn't read its official pricing page, so it isn't ranked. If you want out, see our Canva replacements.

Google Ads: generation inside Performance Max and Demand Gen

ChatGPT and Gemini: the idea box

Revealbot and Adwisely: they don't generate anything
AutomationThey often show up in "AI ad creative tools" lists. Revealbot (now Birch) automates budget and bidding rules on your campaigns; Adwisely runs retargeting campaigns for online stores. Neither makes a visual. Useful after the creative, not for making it.

Your questions about AI ad generators
Is there a free AI ad generator?
Yes, two with no time limit. Creatify gives 10 credits a month, which is 2 video ads or 20 image ads with a watermark. Meta's Advantage+ creative and Google Ads' built-in generation cost nothing beyond your media spend. Atria also has a free plan with no card, mostly useful for digging through its ad library before paying for Core. The others only offer trials: 7 days at AdCreative.ai, 3 days at Predis.ai, six guided ads at Pencil.
Do AI-generated ads perform better?
They often win the click and lose the sale when the product doesn't look real. Advertisers on forums report that fully AI visuals work for finding a strong angle, less for a long-running campaign. The best compromise: your real product photo, with AI for background, sizing and copy.
Can ChatGPT make ad creatives?
It can make an image and write hooks, not a ready-to-run ad. It doesn't place your logo reliably, doesn't resize to ad network formats and doesn't connect to your ad accounts. Use it for briefs and scripts, then move to a dedicated generator for the creative.
Arcads or Creatify for UGC video ads?
Creatify if you want to see pricing and start free; Arcads if UGC is your core format and you're fine signing up to see plans. Both use AI avatars that present your product. Check faces and voice on two or three videos before paying: that's the most common complaint for both.
Do I have to label AI ads on Facebook and Instagram?
Rules change, so read Meta's advertising policies before launching a campaign with AI visuals. In practice, check which Advantage+ options are on for each ad and switch off enhancements you didn't approve. And don't present a generated person as if they were a real customer.
Can I use AI-generated images commercially?
Usually yes, under the generator's terms: read those first, plan by plan. The real risk is looking too close to an existing work, character or trademark. Avoid naming brands or artists in your prompts, and keep your own product photos at the center of the creative.
Will these tools replace a designer or an agency?
They replace variation production, not creative direction. To ship 50 banners a month in the right sizes, AdCreative.ai's $45 annual tier does the job. To find the concept, shoot real video or build a brand identity, you still need a person. Many agencies use these tools to deliver faster, not to drop their designers.
Is AdCreative.ai legit?
The product is real, the billing needs watching. It delivers what it promises and its interface is rated intuitive. But many negative reviews describe trials converted into subscriptions and hard-to-get refunds. Cancel before day 7 if you're not convinced, and keep a screenshot of the confirmation.
