What is the best digital business card in 2026?
Free or paid, with or without an NFC chip: the one that fits how you meet people, at its real yearly cost.
You come back from a conference with thirty paper cards, and half of them never make it into your contacts. A digital business card fixes that both ways: the other person saves your details with one tap, and you capture theirs. The hard part is picking the tool. Nearly every "best digital business card" list on Google is written by a vendor that ranks itself first.
We compared six options on what those lists leave out: the yearly cost for one person and for a team of ten, what the free plan really covers, per-lead and per-credit fees, NFC compatibility with the phones you'll meet, and where your contacts' data ends up.
The short answer: HiHello on your own, free then $72 a year. Blinq for a sales team. Wave Connect for a $23 NFC card. Unitag if you need EU data hosting. Mobilo for the cheapest team plan, V1CE for a metal card you pay for once.
Our ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.

How we compared and scored
A digital business card serves two people. You, who want to be saved in one tap and see who reached out. And the person across from you, who won't install anything and needs to find your details in their contacts tomorrow. A tool that forgets either side gets dropped after three events.
We read each vendor's official pricing page and terms (user minimums, per-lead or per-credit billing, renewals), Apple's documentation on NFC tag reading, and hundreds of user reviews, with extra attention to the bad ones. None of these six tools has a full review on our site yet: the scores come from this ranking and will seed future reviews. The rank follows the most common reader, a solo professional or a small business, not just the score.
What's missing, and why. Popl, a big name, no longer publishes any price: everything goes through a sales call. Cardlyy shows a garbled price on its pricing page. Cartly doesn't say whether its price includes tax. We don't rank a tool whose bill we can't work out. Paper card printers (Vistaprint, Moo) are a different purchase and aren't in this list.

HiHello
For one person, HiHello gives you the most for free. The Personal plan includes two cards (say, one for work and one for side projects), sharing by QR code, link, text or WhatsApp, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes, and an email signature. The person you meet installs nothing: your card opens in their browser and saves to their contacts.
The plan worth paying for is Professional: $72 a year, or $8 month to month. You get eight cards, your own colors, fonts and a video, a branded QR code, and analytics on who opened your card. It also lets you program an NFC card you bought elsewhere so it opens your HiHello profile.
One thing reviews mention and listicles skip: when someone receives a Professional card, the contact exchange includes a HiHello-branded step you can't remove. Some paying users feel their contacts are being marketed to. The free plan also caps paper card and badge scans at 5 a month.
Tip: add your card to your phone wallet before your first event. Your QR code then shows from the lock screen in two seconds, with no signal and no app to dig for.
- Two free cards with no time limit
- Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes
- Virtual backgrounds for Zoom, Teams and Meet
- ✓Most complete free plan for one person
- ✓Nothing to install on the other side
- ✓Signatures pushed to Gmail and Outlook on Business
- ✗HiHello-branded step in the contact exchange
- ✗5 paper card scans a month on Free
- ✗Business needs 5 users minimum
The best place to start on your own: free at first, $72 a year once you want your branding and your stats.
Blinq
Blinq is the card app its users rate highest: more than a thousand reviews averaging close to 4.8 out of 5. Open the app and you see why. Building a card takes a few minutes, and sharing works by QR code, widget, email or text, with a wallet pass on top.
For one person, Premium runs $7.33 a month billed yearly ($88 a year): five cards, a branded QR code, a paper card scanner and contact export. That's more than HiHello for similar use. Blinq earns its spot on Business at $4.99 per user per month billed yearly. An admin builds every rep's card from a template, locks the logo and colors, rolls out email signatures and connects the native CRM integrations.
Read this before you sign: lead capture with enrichment (pulling the job title, company and email of a scanned contact) costs $9.99 per lead unless you negotiate an unlimited plan. A team that scans 200 badges at a trade show can spend more on leads than on seats. The FAQ also says Business is billed per card, with a 5-card minimum.
Complaints in reviews center on error loops when saving a contact and a few billing hiccups. Nothing structural, but keep a backup QR code handy.
- Admin-locked templates
- Email signatures managed for the whole team
- Native CRM integrations on Business
- ✓Highest-rated app among its users
- ✓Business at $4.99 per user billed yearly
- ✓Automatic card provisioning for new hires
- ✗Lead enrichment at $9.99 a lead
- ✗Premium costs more than HiHello for one person
- ✗5-card minimum on Business
The pick for a sales team that wants matching cards and contacts in the CRM. Price out the leads before your first trade show.
Wave Connect
Wave Connect publishes most of the "best digital business card" articles you'll find on Google, and it always ranks itself first. So we judged it on its official pricing page alone. It holds up: the free plan gives you a card, analytics, a lead capture form and a wallet pass, with unlimited sharing.
The edge shows when you buy a physical card. The white NFC card costs $23 and works with the free account. If you want to tap a phone without paying a subscription, no tool in this list gets you there for less. Pro, at $7 a month billed yearly ($84), removes Wave branding, adds your colors and an offline mode.
The catch is the credit system. Scanning an event badge costs 4 credits, a paper card 1 credit, and credits are $2.50 each. You get 10 free, then you buy packs. Customer reviews, still few, also mention slow replies on orders and customs fees charged on delivery.
Tip: order the card on the free plan, check that it opens on both an iPhone and an Android phone, and only move to Pro once the Wave branding actually bothers you.
- $23 NFC card, no subscription required
- Lead capture form on the free plan
- Offline mode on Pro
- ✓Generous free plan
- ✓Teams at $5 per user
- ✓Nothing to install for the recipient
- ✗Badge scans cost 4 credits, or $10
- ✗Order support described as slow
- ✗Credits to rebuy for event scanning
The cheapest way to carry a real NFC card. Watch your credits if you scan a lot at events.
Unitag vCard Pro
Unitag is a French QR code company based in Toulouse, around since 2011. Its vCard Pro product does one job and does it cleanly: one digital card per employee, managed from a central dashboard where the admin locks fields like the logo, address and legal lines.
Pricing is flat: €2.80 per card per month, no minimum, no per-scan fee. It drops with volume: at 25 cards it's €2.09 each, or €52.25 a month for the whole team. Every card gets its QR code, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes, an email signature and analytics. The trial runs 14 days with no card required.
Why it's in a US-facing list: data hosted in Europe. If you sell into the EU or have a European office, your privacy or procurement team gets a short answer to "where does the contact data live?".
The limit: this is not a prospecting tool. No free plan, no NFC card sold with it, no lead enrichment and no native CRM integration like Blinq or HiHello Business. Billing is in euros too. If your reps scan badges all day, look elsewhere.
- EU data hosting
- Admin-locked fields
- No per-scan fee, no minimum
- ✓Simple per-card price
- ✓Volume discount from 25 cards
- ✓Nothing to install for the recipient
- ✗No free plan
- ✗No lead capture or enrichment
- ✗Billed in euros, no NFC card included
The pick when the question is data residency, not lead volume: a clean card for every employee for about €25 a year each.
Mobilo
Mobilo sells both the card (standard, wood, metal) and the software. On paper it's the cheapest team plan in this list: Teams at $4 per member per month, billed yearly, with central management and one invoice. Pro, for one person, is $3 a month. Both include lead capture and enrichment, a paper card scanner, offline sharing and 6,000+ integrations through Zapier.
Every physical card comes with 90 days of Pro. That's where reviews turn sour: the most common complaint is an annual renewal charged when the customer didn't expect it, then refused for a refund. One customer reports $180 taken two years after signing up. Others describe a cancellation flow spread over several screens with retention offers. The public rating sits at 3.3 out of 5, with 15% one-star reviews.
Physical card prices keep moving, and the pricing page shows several promos at once. Go by the list prices ($39 for a custom card, $139 in metal) and check the cart.
Tip: the day you activate your card, set a calendar reminder 80 days out and decide then whether Pro is worth keeping.
- Teams at $4 per member per month
- Paper card scanner and enrichment included
- 6,000+ integrations through Zapier
- ✓Cheapest team subscription in this list
- ✓Custom wood and metal cards
- ✓Many customers praise support
- ✗Disputed renewals in reviews
- ✗Physical card pricing hard to read
- ✗Multi-step cancellation
Good value for kitting out a team, as long as you write down the renewal date on day one.
V1CE
V1CE sells an object first. Metal, bamboo, plastic or 24K gold, the card is designed by their team from your logo, then shipped. You pay once, from $82, and the base software stays free: a profile page, two-way contact capture, a light CRM and booking.
It's the only tool here with no required monthly fee. If you hand out your card twenty times a month and want people to remember it, the object does the job. Reviews mostly praise the design service and the team's responsiveness.
The limits are clear. The paid add-on, Client Capture OS, costs $64.98 a month, ten times a HiHello subscription, for prospecting features. Integrations are thin next to Blinq or Mobilo. And some customers report an NFC chip that won't respond on certain phones, or a finish that didn't match the approved proof.
Tip: have a QR code engraved on the back as well as the NFC chip. When the other phone doesn't react, flip the card and the exchange still happens.
- One-time payment, no required subscription
- Card design done by their team
- Metal, bamboo and 24K gold finishes
- ✓Premium object people remember
- ✓Free base software
- ✓Up to 30% off for teams
- ✗$82 minimum to start
- ✗Paid add-on at $64.98 a month
- ✗NFC chip unreliable on some phones, per reviews
Buy it for the impression. The best object in this list, not the best contact tracker.
Three questions the vendor lists skip
Vendor-written rankings talk about design and features. These three points decide whether your card gets used, and what it really costs you.
NFC or QR code: what actually works across the table
A QR code works on almost every phone: the camera is enough. An NFC chip needs a phone that can read it. iPhones read NFC tags in the background, no app, since the XS and XR (2018), with the screen on, but not during an Apple Pay payment, in airplane mode or with the camera open. On Android, NFC is sometimes switched off in settings. Forum users describe spending a minute hunting for the right spot when a QR code would have taken two seconds. Get an NFC card with a QR code printed on the back, every time.
What you really pay in a year
Solo, on the entry paid plan billed yearly: Mobilo Pro $36, Unitag €33.60, HiHello Professional $72, V1CE $82 once, Wave Pro $84, Blinq Premium $88. For ten people: Mobilo Teams $480, Blinq Business $598.80, HiHello Business $600, Wave Teams $600, Unitag €336 at most. The real gap comes from variable fees: $9.99 per enriched lead at Blinq, 4 credits at $2.50 per badge scan at Wave.
Who is responsible for the contacts you collect
In the US, the CAN-SPAM Act lets you email a contact you met, as long as every message has a working opt-out and a physical address. Europe is stricter: under the GDPR, a swapped card doesn't count as consent to your newsletter. If you meet European prospects, add a consent checkbox to your card's lead form and ask the vendor where it stores data. Unitag hosts in the EU; the US vendors point to their data processing agreement.
- Make sure the other person has nothing to install.
- Get an NFC card with a QR code printed on the back.
- Ask for the per-lead or per-credit cost, not just the monthly price.
- Put the renewal date in your calendar the day you buy.
- Check that CRM export is included in your plan.
- Add a consent checkbox if you'll email European contacts.
Six setups that get your card actually saved
A digital card that stays on your phone does nothing. These setups come from the mistakes users mention most in reviews and forums.
The tips
Add your card to your phone wallet before your first event
PriorityApple Wallet and Google Wallet show your QR code from the lock screen, with no signal. In a convention hall where cell service chokes, that's often the only method that works on the first try.
HiHello, Blinq, Wave and Unitag all offer it on their entry plan.
- Setup time
- One minute
Print the QR code on the back of your NFC card
HardwareAn NFC chip won't respond on every phone: setting turned off, antenna in an odd spot, thick case. A QR code on the back settles it.
At V1CE and Mobilo, ask for it when you approve the design, before printing.
- Cost
- Nothing, if you ask up front
Keep five fields, not fifteen
ContentName, title, company, phone, email. Then one link: your site, your booking page or your LinkedIn profile. A profile with twelve buttons reads badly on a phone screen, and nobody saves it.
- Format
- Five fields and one link
Use a real photo of your face
ContentYour card lands in the contacts of someone who met fifty people that day. A clear headshot, not your logo, is what helps them place you tomorrow.
No decent photo on hand? Our ranking of AI headshot generators can help.
- Avoid
- A logo instead of a face
Connect contacts to your CRM from day one
Follow-upA contact that sits inside the card app gets lost just like a paper card. Blinq and HiHello Business have native integrations, Mobilo goes through Zapier, the others export to CSV or VCF.

Follow up within 48 hours, with a note
Follow-upMost tools let you add a note or a voice memo to a captured contact. Write one line on the spot about what you discussed. Your follow-up the next day can mention that conversation instead of a generic "great to meet you".
To keep that follow-up going on LinkedIn, see our guide to automating LinkedIn prospecting.

Your questions about digital business cards
Is there a digital business card that's actually free?
Yes, with no time limit. HiHello and Blinq each give you two free cards, Wave Connect one card with a lead capture form, Mobilo a basic digital card. Free covers sharing and wallet passes; you pay for branding (logo, colors, custom QR code), analytics and team management.
Does the other person need an app to receive my card?
No, with all six tools here. Your card opens in their browser after a QR scan or an NFC tap, and they save it to their contacts in one tap. Only you install an app to build and manage your card, and Unitag doesn't even need that, since it runs from a web dashboard.
Do NFC business cards work with every iPhone?
With every iPhone since the XS and XR, released in 2018, no app needed. The screen has to be on, and the phone must have been unlocked once since it last restarted. Reading pauses during an Apple Pay payment, in airplane mode and when the camera is open, which explains most "it doesn't work" moments at events.
How much does an NFC business card cost?
From $23 to well over $100 depending on the material. Wave Connect's white NFC card costs $23 and works with the free account. V1CE starts at $82, paid once. Mobilo's list prices run from $39 for a custom card to $139 in metal, with near-constant promos. A metal card doesn't read any better than a plastic one: you're paying for the object.
Will a digital card replace my paper cards?
Not entirely. Some people want to walk away with something in hand, and a dead phone shares nothing. The most practical setup is a physical card with an NFC chip and a printed QR code: it works as a paper card for people who keep it, and as a digital card for people who scan it.
Can I make a digital business card in Canva?
You can design one, not run one. Canva gives you an image or PDF with a QR code, but it won't update your profile when you change jobs, won't capture contacts and shows no analytics. For a one-off it's fine; for regular networking, a free dedicated tool like HiHello does more for the same price.
How do I share my digital card on Zoom or Teams calls?
Use a virtual background with your QR code on it. HiHello generates these backgrounds for Zoom, Teams and Google Meet on its free plan. Place the code in the top corner, not the center, so your head doesn't cover it, and make it large enough for a phone camera to read it from a shared screen.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
It depends on the vendor, so check before buying a physical card. At V1CE and Wave Connect, the card keeps pointing to a free profile. Elsewhere you drop to the free plan and lose your branding and analytics. Export your contacts to CSV before canceling, and at Mobilo, cancel before the yearly renewal date, which is charged automatically.
