Which web host should you pick for a site aimed at Mexico in 2026?
A Mexican host doesn't always host in Mexico. And a US host rarely gives you an invoice a Mexican accountant can deduct.
You're launching a site for customers in Mexico, maybe as an expat in Mexico City, maybe as a US company opening a Spanish version. Three questions come up fast. Where should the server live so pages load quickly in Monterrey or Guadalajara? Can you pay in pesos? And if your company is registered in Mexico, will you get a CFDI invoice you can deduct? We compared six hosts using their official pricing pages: intro and renewal prices, whether tax is included, the data center they actually name, payment methods and support language, then read what Mexican customers say in public reviews.
The short answer: Neubox if you want a Mexican company billing in pesos with a free .com or .com.mx for the first year, knowing its page doesn't say where the servers are. Hostinger if you want to pay cash at OXXO or by SPEI transfer, with a US data center. HostGator Mexico if a server inside Mexico matters most. Cloudways or DigitalOcean if you're comfortable paying in dollars and want predictable pricing with no renewal jump.
One warning before you buy: none of the six says on its pricing page that it issues a CFDI. If you need one, ask in writing first. Hosting a US-focused site instead? Our general web hosting ranking is the better fit.
The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.

6 hosts for Mexico compared on what matters
Each starting price comes from the host's official pricing page, in the currency it shows to that market. Renewal prices are on each card, because that's what your budget feels from year two.
The order follows the Mexico score, not the overall score: our method explains why a lower-scored host can rank higher.

How we compared and ranked
We went through each host's official pricing page in 2026, using the Mexican storefront when one exists: plans, intro price, the commitment needed to get it, renewal price, whether IVA (Mexico's 16% sales tax) is included, the named data center, payment methods and support language. Then we read public reviews from customers in Mexico and Mexican forum threads about deducting hosting costs, to see what actually goes wrong after checkout.
Two numbers, two jobs. The 5-point score on each card is the host's score across all our pages: one host, one score site-wide, so Hostinger (3.6), Cloudways (3.7) and DigitalOcean (3.9) match our other rankings. The order follows the Mexico score instead: the weighted average of the six criteria below, weighted as follows: real 3-year cost 25%, server location 20%, paying in pesos 10%, Mexican invoice 10%, support 15%, reliability 20%. That gives Neubox 3.65, Hostinger 3.61, Akky 3.47, HostGator 3.42, Cloudways 3.32, DigitalOcean 3.26. That's why HostGator ranks above Cloudways and DigitalOcean despite a lower overall score: a server advertised in Mexico and peso billing, while the other two bill in dollars with no CFDI. If you're technical and don't need a Mexican invoice, the overall score is the better guide.
What's not ranked, and why. GoDaddy sells hosting in Mexico, but we couldn't read a price on its official Mexican page, and we don't rank a plan without one. Vultr has had a Mexico City region since 2021 and AWS opened its Mexico (Central) region in 2025, but both are raw cloud servers for technical teams; we cover them below as location options. SiteGround has no known data center in Mexico.
- Real 3-year cost in pesosIntro price, renewal, IVA included or not, commitment needed to get the advertised price.25%
- Actual server locationThe data center the host names on its page, not the company's nationality.20%
- Paying in pesosMXN pricing, cash at OXXO, SPEI transfer, no international card needed.10%

The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.
Neubox
Neubox is a Mexican company founded in 2004 with the widest lineup here: seven yearly shared plans from Start It at 390 MXN for the first year up to Max It at 2,390 MXN, plus managed WordPress billed monthly. A .com or .com.mx domain is free for the first year (plain .mx isn't on the page's list).
Watch the tax line. Neubox prices exclude IVA, so Start It is really 452.40 MXN the first year and 636.84 MXN a year after that. Over three years that's 1,726.08 MXN with tax. Renewals rise 25 to 43% depending on the plan.
The weak spot: the page promises a "world-class data center" without naming a city. If you picked Neubox to keep data in Mexico, ask sales for the city first. The footer links to an electronic invoicing page we couldn't open, so a CFDI is likely for a Mexican company but not confirmed in writing.
Its public rating is good, yet recent one-star reviews repeat the same story: downtime, tickets unanswered for days, support that feels weekday-only. Tickets are open around the clock; chat and phone depend on the plan, and sales works Monday to Friday 9 to 6 and Saturday 9 to 2.
- Mexican company, peso pricing
- Free .com.mx the first year
- Renewals up 25 to 43%
- ✓Broad lineup from 390 MXN
- ✓Renewal price shown on the page
- ✓24/7 tickets
- ✗Prices shown before tax
- ✗No data center named on the page
- ✗Recent reviews on outages and slow tickets
The natural pick for a business billing in Mexico, as long as you add IVA to every price and get the server location and CFDI confirmed in writing.
Hostinger
Hostinger's intro prices come with a catch: you pay 48 months upfront. Premium is $2.49 a month, then renews at $10.99. On the Mexican storefront the same plan is 32.99 MXN a month (1,583.52 MXN for four years), renewing at 149.99 MXN, a 4.5x jump.
The Mexican store also takes cash at OXXO and SPEI bank transfers (Neubox does too), with up to 12 monthly installments; its MXN prices are shown before IVA. That matters if you or your client has no international card.
You won't get a server in Mexico. Hostinger lets you choose North America (US) or Brazil (São Paulo); pick the US for Mexican traffic. Support runs 24/7 by chat in several languages, Spanish included, with no phone line.
Invoices are PDFs, and you can add a tax ID to your profile, but Hostinger's billing help page says nothing about CFDI. A .mx domain costs 99.99 MXN the first year and 816.99 MXN a year after that.
- OXXO and SPEI payments
- Up to 12 installments
- US data center option
- ✓Cash at OXXO and SPEI transfers in pesos
- ✓No international card needed
- ✓24/7 Spanish chat
- ✗48 months upfront
- ✗Renewal several times the intro price
- ✗No CFDI mentioned
The easiest way to pay without a card, as long as you budget for renewal and choose the US data center at setup.
Akky
Akky (Akky Online Solutions S.A. de C.V.) is an ICANN-accredited registrar and a .mx registrar, which is where many Mexican companies bought their domain years ago. Adding hosting to the same account keeps things simple.
It has the most honest pricing here: IVA included and renewals only 7 to 14% higher. Básico is 699 MXN, then 799 MXN, so 2,297 MXN over three years with tax, against 1,726.08 MXN for Neubox Start It once you add IVA.
Plans run on cPanel with two backups a week. That's less than daily, so keep your own copy if the site changes often. The pricing page doesn't say where servers are or whether a CFDI is issued (it does list 24-hour support, chat and two Monterrey phone numbers): three questions to ask before you buy.
- Tax-inclusive prices
- Renewals up 7 to 14%
- .mx registrar
- ✓Domain and hosting together
- ✓Predictable three-year budget
- ✓Standard cPanel
- ✗Server location not stated
- ✗Two backups a week
- ✗Support details thin on the page
The most predictable budget for a small Mexican business, best paired with your own backups and a written answer on server location.
HostGator Mexico
HostGator Mexico is the only shared host in this ranking whose page says its servers are in Mexico. It doesn't name the city, but for Mexican visitors that's the shortest possible trip.
Pricing is low and locked for 36 months: Personal is 765.45 MXN for three years, Emprendedor 1,102.50 MXN, Negocios 1,633.23 MXN. A domain is included, there's a 30-day refund window, and support answers in Spanish by chat and email.
The trouble starts later. Next to each plan, the page shows a crossed-out "precio regular": 4,320 MXN for 36 months on Personal, or 120 MXN a month, 7,722 MXN on Emprendedor, 11,358 MXN on Negocios, 14,004 MXN on Turbo. Its terms say that regular price is charged at renewal, so use it as your benchmark, up to 7 times the intro price (5.6 on Personal, 7.0 on Emprendedor and Negocios), and get the exact figure in writing. Reviews keep saying the same thing: cheap to start, steep at renewal. Public reviews of the Mexican branch are few and harsh, including a domain renewed and charged after cancellation with the refund denied. No word on CFDI either.
If you go with HostGator, ask chat for your plan's exact renewal price, screenshot the answer, turn off domain auto-renewal if you plan to leave, and cancel in writing.
- Servers in Mexico per its page
- Price locked for 36 months
- Domain included
- ✓Server as close as it gets
- ✓Spanish chat support
- ✓30-day refund
- ✗Regular price up to 7x the intro price
- ✗Reviews about charges after cancellation
- ✗No CFDI mention
Right when server proximity comes first, as long as you get the renewal price in writing before paying.
Cloudways
Cloudways sets up and manages a server for you on the cloud provider you pick: DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS or Google Cloud. That choice matters here: Vultr has had a Mexico City region since 2021, but we couldn't confirm on cloudways.com that Cloudways offers it. Check the region list when you create your server; if it isn't there, pick a southern US region, still with no command line.
Plans start at $11 a month on DigitalOcean, billed hourly. There's no intro price and no renewal jump, and on DigitalOcean, Vultr and Linode the price is the same in every location, so the region you pick doesn't change the price.
The trade-off is billing: dollars, by card, no CFDI and no OXXO. For a Mexican business that needs to deduct the cost, that's a real drawback, and the peso cost moves with the exchange rate.
- Five cloud providers to choose from
- Managed, no command line
- Hourly billing, no lock-in
- ✓No renewal jump
- ✓Server dedicated to your site
- ✓Same price in every region
- ✗Billed in dollars
- ✗No CFDI or local payment
- ✗Pricier than shared hosting
The simplest route to a managed cloud server near Mexico without a tech team, if a foreign dollar invoice works for your books.
DigitalOcean
DigitalOcean rents virtual servers, called Droplets, from $4 a month for 512 MB of memory and 10 GB of disk. The price doesn't change after year one, the opposite of shared hosting where renewal is the real bill.
There's no Mexico region. Its North American data centers are in the US (Atlanta, Kansas City, Memphis, New York, Richmond, San Francisco) and Toronto. For Mexican visitors, pick a southern US region and put Cloudflare in front.
It's not turnkey hosting: you set up the web server, certificates, backups and updates yourself, and you pay in dollars by card with no CFDI. If that sounds like too much, Cloudways does the work on the same servers for $11 a month.
- $4/mo flat
- No renewal increase
- Full control of the server
- ✓Price known in advance, even in year three
- ✓No commitment
- ✓Easy to scale up
- ✗No Mexico region
- ✗You manage everything
- ✗Dollar billing, no CFDI
Hard to beat for a technical team, the wrong fit for a business that wants ready-made hosting and a Mexican invoice.
Six questions to ask before paying a host for Mexico
Most comparisons skip the three things that cause regret in Mexico: the invoice, the renewal price and the real server location. Here's how to check them in ten minutes.
Do you need a CFDI?
If your business is registered in Mexico and wants to deduct hosting, yes. Only a provider established in Mexico can issue a CFDI 4.0. A foreign host may charge 16% IVA and still not give you one; on Mexican forums, site owners have switched hosts for that reason alone. Send your RFC, tax regime and postal code in writing and ask whether a CFDI will be issued. No clear answer means no.
Where is the server, really?
A host's nationality says nothing about its data center. Neubox is Mexican but doesn't name a location. HostGator Mexico says Mexico. Hostinger offers the US or Brazil. Look for the data center on the pricing page, and ask chat if the city is missing.
Is the price before or after tax?
Neubox shows prices before IVA, Akky after. Add 16% before comparing: Start It goes from 390 to 452.40 MXN. Skip that step and the cheaper-looking plan may not be cheaper.
What will year two cost?
This changes the ranking. Akky goes up 7 to 14%, Neubox 25 to 43%, Hostinger Premium 4.5x on the Mexican store. HostGator shows a "precio regular" of 4,320 MXN for three years on Personal, against 765.45 MXN at signup. Always work out three years, domain included: a .mx at 99.99 MXN in year one can cost 816.99 MXN the next.
Can you pay without an international card?
Hostinger's Mexican store and Neubox take cash at OXXO and SPEI transfers. Akky and HostGator also bill in pesos. Cloudways and DigitalOcean bill in dollars by card, so the peso cost follows the exchange rate. An OXXO payment doesn't renew itself: set a reminder or save a card before the due date.
Does anyone answer in Spanish on Saturday?
Real hours beat the 24/7 badge. Neubox sales closes at 2 pm on Saturday, and some customers describe weekday-only support. Hostinger answers by chat around the clock, with no phone. Send support a question before you buy and time the reply.
Six settings for a fast site and a clean invoice
These come from the problems Mexican customers describe in reviews and forums: slow pages in Monterrey, a domain that triples at renewal, an invoice the accountant won't accept.
The settings
Pick the server closest to your audience
SpeedThe farther the server, the longer every file takes: a server in Mexico beats one in the US, which beats one in Europe. On Hostinger, choose North America at setup; moving later is a hassle. On Cloudways, pick Vultr's Mexico City region if it's listed.
- Rule of thumb
- Mexico < Texas < Europe
Put free Cloudflare in front of your site
SpeedCloudflare caches your images and pages and serves Mexican traffic from nearby points such as McAllen, Texas. With a US server that's enough for a brochure site. It won't fix invoicing: Cloudflare doesn't issue CFDIs either.
- Cost
- Free plan
Buy the .mx where renewal is low
BudgetNIC México runs .mx, sold through registrars such as Akky. Hostinger charges 99.99 MXN the first year, then 816.99 MXN a year. Neubox doesn't give away the .mx: its hosting includes a free .com or .com.mx for the first year. Compare the year-two price and turn on auto-renew so you never lose the name.
- Trap
- 816.99 MXN renewal at Hostinger
Ask for the CFDI in writing before you pay
InvoiceEmail sales with your RFC, tax regime and postal code and ask whether you'll receive a CFDI 4.0 in your company's name. Keep the reply. If they can't, buy from a Mexican provider or a reseller established in Mexico.
- Have ready
- RFC, tax regime, postal code
Recalculate every plan with tax
BudgetCompare like for like: tax included, three years, domain included. Neubox Start It comes to 1,726.08 MXN over three years with IVA, Akky Básico to 2,297 MXN.
- Rate
- 16% IVA
Plan your exit on day one
InvoiceThe most common dispute in reviews is a renewal charged after cancellation. Turn off auto-renew on anything you don't want to keep, cancel in writing before the due date, and download a full backup of site and email before you leave.
- Habit
- Cancel in writing, keep proof

Web hosting for Mexico · FAQ
Do I need a server in Mexico for a Mexican audience?
Not for most sites. A US server stays close to Mexican visitors, and Cloudflare narrows the gap further. An in-country server pays off for a busy store or an app that must keep data in Mexico: AWS has run its Mexico (Central) region since 2025, and Vultr a Mexico City region since 2021.Can a US host give me a CFDI invoice?
Usually not. A CFDI is issued by a provider established in Mexico and registered with the SAT. A foreign host can charge 16% IVA without issuing one, which makes the expense hard to deduct. If deduction matters, buy from a Mexican company or a reseller based in Mexico and get the CFDI confirmed in writing first. How do I pay for hosting in Mexico without a credit card?
Hostinger's Mexican store and Neubox take cash at OXXO convenience stores and SPEI bank transfers. Hostinger's 12 installments don't apply to cash: at OXXO you pay the whole term at once. OXXO payments don't auto-renew, so note the due date or save a card before renewal to avoid a suspended site. How much does a .mx domain cost?
At Hostinger, 99.99 MXN the first year and 816.99 MXN a year after. Neubox doesn't give it away (its free domain is a .com or .com.mx for the first year), and Akky, the long-standing .mx registrar, sells it alongside its hosting. Always check the year-two price. Is Neubox hosted in Mexico?
Neubox is a Mexican company, but its pricing page doesn't name a data center. If you need an in-country server for contractual reasons, ask for the exact location in writing. Will a European host make my site slow in Mexico?
Yes, noticeably. Europe is much farther from Mexico than the US, and pages that load dozens of files feel the extra distance. Put Cloudflare in front at minimum, or host the Mexican version in North America.Which host suits a WooCommerce store selling in Mexico?
Cloudways is the simplest fast option, from $11 a month, on a southern US server or in Mexico City if the Vultr region is offered to you, if a dollar invoice is fine. If you need to invoice and deduct in Mexico, Neubox's managed WordPress (69.90 to 89.90 MXN a month before tax) is the alternative, after you confirm where the server is.
