Campaigner Pricing in 2026: What You'll Actually Pay
The full official price grid, tier by tier, plus the add-ons, the billing traps and the real yearly cost.
Short answer: Campaigner costs $14 to $409 a month on Essentials and $35 to $649 on Advanced, based on your list size (1,000 to 100,000 contacts). Above that, Custom is quoted by sales. There's no free plan and no annual discount on the grid, but you get a full 30-day trial. Reputation Defender adds 20% to the plan price.
The $59, $179 and “$104 with SMS” figures still showing up in search results come from an older grid. They're gone. We pulled the current official grid, tier by tier, and worked out the real cost over 12 months.

Campaigner's three plans and what they cost
Campaigner charges mostly by contacts stored (the terms also set an email allowance, billed if you go over). You pick a plan (Essentials or Advanced), then a contact tier: 15 tiers from 1,000 to 100,000. Prices climb fast on small lists, then flatten past 60,000 contacts, where each extra 10,000 contacts adds only $10 to $20 on Essentials.
The old Starter, Essential and eCommerce plans no longer exist. If a review site still lists them, it's years out of date.
US dollars, billed monthly, before tax. The grid is also published in Canadian dollars.

Campaigner's official grid in 2026. No yearly billing or annual discount is listed. 30-day trial on every feature. Paid add-ons: Reputation Defender (20% of plan price), AI Insight Builder, Capture (website visitor identification, US customers only) and transactional email via SMTP relay, the last three priced on request.
Six things that inflate your bill
The price grid itself is easy to read. The expensive part is the rules around it: tier jumps, percentage-based add-ons and, above all, the cancellation terms. These six points come up again and again in unhappy customer reviews. We priced each one against the official grid.
The 5,000 to 10,000 jump
There's no tier in between. At 5,001 contacts you go from $38 to $72 on Essentials (+89%) and from $70 to $124 on Advanced (+77%). Same story at 10,001 contacts: $109 and $192. One sloppy import is enough to push you up.
An add-on priced as a percentage
Reputation Defender costs 20% of your plan, so it grows with your list. At 1,000 contacts on Essentials it's $2.80. At 100,000 contacts on Advanced it's $129.80 a month, or $1,557.60 a year for one add-on.
30 days' notice
The terms require 30 days' notice to cancel or downgrade. A request sent the day before renewal costs you a full month. Several customers say they had to write more than once before the cancellation actually went through.
Nothing gets refunded
Subscription fees are paid in advance and described as completely non-refundable. A month you paid and didn't use is gone. Some customers report getting only the latest month back after months of charges on an inactive account.
The day-31 charge
The 30-day trial needs a credit card. If you don't cancel, the first month is charged automatically on day 31, at the tier your account is on at that point. Pick the smallest tier you can when you start.
Extras billed outside the plan
SMS, transactional email, AI Insight Builder and professional services all sit outside the plan, with no public price. One more hidden cost on Essentials: the Campaigner logo stays in every email footer, only Advanced removes it. Ask for each rate in writing before you sign, or your real budget stays a guess.
- Count your real contacts, unsubscribes included, before you pick a tier.
- Put day 30 of the trial in your calendar the day you sign up.
- Send any cancellation in writing at least 30 days before renewal.
- Add 20% to your budget if you plan to use Reputation Defender.
- Get SMS and transactional email rates in writing before you commit.
How we work out the real cost
We didn't invent a typical customer or a sending volume. Campaigner bills by contact, so everything starts with your list size. We took the official grid for each tier, added the most common add-on (Reputation Defender, 20%), then multiplied by 12 to get a yearly budget. Prices stay in US dollars before tax, as on the invoice.
What we didn't price, because there's no public rate: SMS, transactional email, AI Insight Builder and Custom. We won't give you a guess for those. Get a quote.

What you'll actually pay, by list size
Six list sizes, both plans, with and without Reputation Defender, plus the 12-month budget. Cost per 1,000 contacts shows how the grid really behaves: $14 at 1,000 contacts on Essentials, $4.09 at 100,000. Campaigner gets cheap on big lists. It stays expensive on small ones as soon as you want branching automation.

Campaigner pricing vs. the alternatives
We compared entry prices and, where the vendor publishes it, the price at 10,000 contacts. That's the only fair comparison: an entry price at 500 contacts tells you nothing about your bill a year from now. Scores come from our review pages.
The takeaway. At 10,000 contacts, Campaigner Essentials ($72) undercuts AWeber Plus ($135 monthly) and Drip ($154), and sits just above Moosend ($64). Campaigner Advanced ($124) stays below ActiveCampaign Plus ($189 billed yearly). Brevo bills mostly on email volume: 10,000 contacts mailed twice a month need its 20,000-email tier, $32 on Starter. On small lists, though, Campaigner has no free plan to put up against Brevo, Kit or Sender.

Is Campaigner worth the price?
Our honest take: Campaigner is expensive for a small list that wants automation, and good value for a big list that mostly sends campaigns. Its 3.0 out of 5 in our review comes mainly from support (2.5) and integrations (2.9), not from the price grid. Here's who the price works for, who it doesn't, and how to bring it down.
The price makes sense if…
Your list is past 50,000 contacts and you mostly send newsletters and promotions. At 100,000 contacts, Essentials works out to $4.09 per 1,000 contacts, with multivariate tests, conditional content and abandoned cart already included. Few tools in our comparison beat that at this volume without going to a custom quote.
The price doesn't make sense if…
You have under 5,000 contacts and want branching automation. Advanced costs $35 at 1,000 contacts, more than double ActiveCampaign Starter ($15 billed yearly). And with no free plan, Campaigner loses to Brevo, Kit or Sender while your list is small. Add the strict cancellation terms, and the risk sits with you.
Our verdict
Go with Essentials, not Advanced, until a multi-path journey is actually missing. Use the 30-day trial to measure your real contact count, then choose your tier. And plan your exit before you start: 30 days' notice, no refunds. If any of that bothers you, see our Campaigner alternatives.
- Clean your list before each threshold: staying at 10,000 contacts instead of 10,001 saves $37 a month on Essentials, $68 on Advanced.
- Stay on Essentials: you save $21 to $240 a month if you don't use multi-path workflows.
- Only buy Reputation Defender for an old or imported list. On a double opt-in list, keep that 20%.
- Stay on the smallest tier during the trial: the day-31 charge uses whatever tier your account is on then.
- Cancel by email to support@campaigner.com and by chat, at least 30 days before renewal, and keep both records.
- Above 100,000 contacts, negotiate the Custom setup fee before the monthly price.
- Compare at the same tier with our Brevo vs Campaigner and ActiveCampaign vs Campaigner breakdowns.
Campaigner pricing FAQ
How much does Campaigner cost per month?
Between $14 and $409 a month on Essentials and between $35 and $649 on Advanced, depending on how many contacts you store (1,000 to 100,000). Above 100,000 contacts you move to Custom, which is quoted. Campaigner bills by contacts, not by emails sent, so sending more campaigns doesn't change the bill. A 10,000-contact list costs $72 on Essentials and $124 on Advanced, or $86.40 and $148.80 with Reputation Defender. If you see $59, $179 or $104 a month somewhere, that's the old grid.Does Campaigner have a free plan?
No. There's no free-forever plan, only a 30-day trial with access to every feature. The trial asks for a credit card up front, and the first charge lands on day 31 at the tier you picked when you signed up. If you need a free plan to start, Brevo stores 100,000 contacts at 300 emails a day, Kit is free up to 10,000 subscribers without automation, and Sender is free up to 2,500 subscribers with automation included. How much is Reputation Defender?
It costs 20% of your plan price, every month. On Advanced at 10,000 contacts that's an extra $24.80. On Advanced at 100,000 contacts it's an extra $129.80, or $1,557.60 a year for one add-on. It filters invalid addresses before you send, which protects your sender reputation. Our take: worth it on an old, purchased or multi-source list. On a clean double opt-in list (where every subscriber confirmed by clicking a link), you're mostly paying for insurance you won't use.Is there an annual discount on Campaigner?
Not on the public grid. Campaigner's pricing page shows monthly prices only, with no yearly billing option and no annual discount. Pages that quote an 18% yearly saving are copying the old pricing. The only place where price really moves is the Custom plan above 100,000 contacts, where you negotiate with sales. Some SaaS deal platforms occasionally list a first-year discount for their paying members: check what the membership costs before you count on it.Does Campaigner charge setup fees?
Not on Essentials or Advanced: the official pricing FAQ says there are no setup fees on those plans. Custom plans are the exception, where setup fees may apply. If you go Custom, get the setup fee in writing in the quote and push back on it first. It's a one-time line, so sales has more room on it than on the monthly price. Professional services (content creation, workflow builds, deliverability consulting) are also quoted separately. How do I cancel Campaigner without paying an extra month?
Send your cancellation at least 30 days before your renewal date. The terms require 30 days' notice to cancel or downgrade, and they describe subscription fees as completely non-refundable. Email support@campaigner.com, open a chat too, and keep proof of both. Plenty of customers describe email cancellations that never went through and charges that kept coming for months. Before you send the request, export your contacts, your unsubscribe list and your HTML templates. How much do SMS cost on Campaigner?
SMS isn't part of the email plans. SMS and MMS are a separate offer with their own pricing tab, billed on usage, and the official page doesn't show a readable rate. Ask sales for the exact per-message price during your trial and get it in writing. The offer runs on US and Canadian numbers (10DLC and toll-free), so it's built for North American audiences. If you text customers outside North America, check coverage before you commit.Which plan includes automation, Essentials or Advanced?
Both include some automation, and Essentials covers more than people expect. It already has autoresponders, recurring campaigns, A/B and multivariate tests, conditional content, abandoned cart emails and API access. Advanced adds simple and multi-path workflows (journeys that branch based on what each contact does), advanced segmentation and purchase-behavior tracking. The gap is $21 a month at 1,000 contacts and $240 at 100,000. Start your trial on Essentials and upgrade only when a specific journey needs branching. What happens if I go over my contact tier?
Overages are billed automatically, without asking you first: the terms cover both contacts and emails, and unused allowance doesn't roll over. In practice, you move up to the next tier. The worst jump sits between 5,000 and 10,000 contacts, since there's no tier in between: Essentials goes from $38 to $72, that's 89% more for one extra contact. Run a list cleanup before every threshold. Deleting inactive addresses is cheaper than moving up a tier, and you'd pay for them at your next tool too.
