Undetectable AI alternatives: where to go, and how to leave without another charge

Seven tools in detail, one reason to leave for each, and a six-step exit plan.

The short answer: Grammarly if you mostly want your writing to sound more natural, with no promise to beat anything; QuillBot if you rework your own drafts on a tight budget ($8.33 a month billed yearly); WriteHuman if you want to try before you pay; HIX Bypass if you rework long pieces in one go; Walter Writes if you run a lot of words every month, with pricing from a third-party snapshot you should confirm with the vendor. StealthGPT and Humbot are here for comparison: skip them if billing is what drove you away, or if you want a broad money-back guarantee. And if you're a student and your school bans undisclosed AI use, no tool is the right answer. Disclosing is. We compared these seven tools, their prices and their cancellation terms in 2026.

The real reasons

Why people leave Undetectable AI, and what it says about the market

Undetectable AI has fans: on Trustpilot, about half of all reviews give it five stars. But 40% give it one, for a 3.6 out of 5 across roughly a thousand reviews. Opinions are split down the middle, and the complaints look alike. Here are the six reasons that keep coming up.

Charges after you cancel

This is complaint number one. One reviewer signed up for the trial, canceled the same day, and was billed anyway. Another wrote on Trustpilot: "I was charged for a subscription I cancelled." A third found out they had been "charged for over a year 3 times a month." The pricing page says "Cancel Anytime" but never explains how.

Refunds are case by case

In its public replies, the company says subscriptions are non-refundable under its policy and that it reviews each case. Some users get a full refund, some a partial one, some nothing. The official guarantee is narrow: if something it produces is flagged as not human, Undetectable refunds the cost of that humanization, not your plan.

Text that still gets flagged

One user ran humanized text through several detectors and got AI scores anywhere from 9.3% to 71.1% depending on the tool. Another says the rewritten content "still failed" detection. A French test by webandseo.fr found it didn't get past any of the detectors it tried. And detectors keep updating, so a pass today means nothing next month.

A word quota that runs out fast

The entry plan gives you 10,000 words a month for $9.99 billed monthly, or $5 a month billed yearly. Every retry on the same text eats more words. The free trial stops at 250 words, about half a page, so you can't judge the tool on a real document before paying.

Output you have to fix

Reviews mention repetitive phrasing and stripped formatting: headings, lists and bold text vanish in the rewrite. On a 2,000-word piece, that means a full read-through and manual reformatting. Whatever time you saved generating, you lose editing.

A race nobody wins

Detectors aren't reliable either. OpenAI pulled its own AI classifier in 2023 "due to its low rate of accuracy": it caught only 26% of AI-written text and wrongly flagged 9% of human writing. A 2023 academic study found that detectors consistently misclassify writing by non-native English speakers as AI. Paying to win a game that's rigged on both sides is a shaky bet.

The 7 alternatives

Undetectable AI alternatives, tool by tool

For each tool: why switch to it, who it's for, its limit, how to move over, and what it costs. Prices are the ones we recorded on vendor pages in 2026, in US dollars; when a figure comes from a third-party snapshot, we say so. Grammarly and QuillBot localize their pricing by country, so your checkout may show a different amount. On languages, only Grammarly publishes the list its humanizer supports; for the other six we found no official list, so try the free tier on a text in your language before paying. One rule applies to all seven: none of them guarantees your text passes a detector, and none replaces your own edit.

01

Grammarly: the humanizer that doesn't promise a bypass

Most honest

Why switch to Grammarly. Grammarly goes against the grain. Its humanizer page states plainly that the tool "is not intended to bypass AI detectors." It's there to make writing smoother and more natural, which is what most people searching for a humanizer actually need. The Humanizer agent works in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian.

Who it's for. Writers, freelancers and non-native English speakers who want a more natural draft without putting themselves at risk.

Who it's not for. Anyone shopping for a detector bypass. Grammarly doesn't promise one, on purpose.

Its limit. The free humanizer's limit isn't published on its page, so count on it for short passages. For daily use, Grammarly Pro is $12 a month billed yearly on its plans page; the month-to-month price wasn't displayed when we looked. If you write in English as a second language, that's also where Grammarly earns its keep: tone suggestions and rewrites of your own sentences, not a disguise for someone else's.

How to move over. Nothing to migrate: paste your text into the humanizer page or install the browser extension. Cancel Undetectable AI before it renews, then try Grammarly on one of your real drafts.

QuillBot: rework your own writing for cheap

Most tools for the price

Why switch to QuillBot. QuillBot is a paraphraser first, with a humanizer on top. For rewording your own sentences, it's the best mix of price and tools in this guide (paraphraser, grammar checker, summarizer and translator in one plan): Premium works out to $8.33 a month billed yearly ($99.95 a year), versus $19.95 month to month. The student plan drops to $6.25 a month ($74.95 a year) with a verified student email.

Who it's for. Students and writers who polish their own drafts and also want a grammar checker, summarizer and translator in one subscription.

Who it's not for. Anyone who wants to humanize long text for free: the free humanizer caps each pass at 125 words.

Its limit. The free cap pushes you to pay quickly, and the refund policy is rigid: QuillBot says it refunds only where the law requires it, with a short 3-day window. Pick your billing cycle carefully. Our QuillBot review rates it 3.9 out of 5.

How to move over. Start with the free version on a paragraph. Only switch to yearly after a month on monthly, if it holds up on your writing.

WriteHuman: a free tier to judge before you pay

Free to try

Why switch to WriteHuman. Undetectable AI's biggest weakness is a 250-word trial, total. WriteHuman gives you three free 250-word requests every month plus ten detection checks, enough to judge it on a few real texts. Its pricing is easy to read: a number of requests per month and a maximum length per request.

Who it's for. Content writers and freelancers working on short pieces like product descriptions, posts or emails.

Who it's not for. Long documents: Basic caps each request at 600 words, Pro at 1,200.

Its limit. Basic costs $20 month to month or $12 a month billed yearly ($144 a year) for 80 requests. Pro goes to $29 or $19, Ultra to $59 or $39. Its FAQ is blunt about money: "All payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund." You can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the period you paid for, but you won't get anything back. That's the best argument for burning through all three free requests, on texts that look like your real work, before you enter a card.

How to move over. Use your three free requests on three real texts. If you like the output, go monthly for a month before committing to a year.

Walter Writes: a big word quota

High volume

Why switch to Walter Writes. If Undetectable AI's 10,000-word quota keeps blocking you, Walter Writes gives you three times as many words: 30,000 words a month from $8, per a third-party snapshot, billing cycle unconfirmed. Pro gets you 70,000 words for $13, Elite 200,000 words for $26. A Teams plan covers 10 members for $99.

Who it's for. Content teams and freelancers who rework a lot of text every month.

Who it's not for. Long documents in one go: Starter caps each pass at 750 words, Pro at 1,500, Elite at 2,000.

Its limit. The free trial is limited, and its pricing page wouldn't load during our comparison, so these figures come from a recent third-party snapshot. Confirm them with the vendor. A bigger quota doesn't make the output better: editing is still on you.

How to move over. Check your real usage over the last three months in your Undetectable AI account, then pick the tier just above it. No point paying for Elite if you use 20,000 words.

HIX Bypass: long inputs in one shot

Long texts

Why switch to HIX Bypass. HIX Bypass takes up to 3,000 words per input on Standard and Premium, and its page shows unlimited input on Unlimited, so a full article goes through in one block. Its Unlimited plan removes the monthly word counter, which solves the quota problem.

Who it's for. People reworking long articles who are tired of chopping text into pieces.

Who it's not for. Occasional use: Standard gives you only 5,000 words a month, half of Undetectable AI's entry plan.

Its limit. The pricing page has a Monthly/Yearly toggle. Monthly: Standard $14.99, Premium $29.99 for 50,000 words, Unlimited $59.99. Billed yearly, the monthly price drops to $9.99, $14.99 and $15. Standard is capped at 5,000 words a month, which makes it pricey per word: at $14.99 you'd get twice the words for less at Undetectable AI. The math only works on Premium or Unlimited billed yearly, and that's exactly the commitment you shouldn't make before a trial month. And yes, billed yearly, Unlimited ($15 a month) costs barely more than Premium ($14.99) on the pricing page: if you ever commit to a year, Unlimited is the only tier that makes sense.

How to move over. Start monthly, look at the first invoice, and only commit to a year once the amount is confirmed.

Humbot: clear per-request limits

Published quotas

Why switch to Humbot. Humbot spells out its quotas: the first plan gives 3,000 basic and 1,000 advanced words a month, with 500 words per request; the next one 30,000 basic and 5,000 advanced words, with 1,200 words per request; the unlimited plan covers basic words plus 10,000 advanced words. You know up front how much text you can run.

Who it's for. People reworking short, regular pieces who want to know their ceiling before paying.

Who it's not for. Heavy users of advanced words, and anyone whose top priority is a broad money-back guarantee.

Its limit. Two of its own pages disagree. The pricing page mentions a 30-day money-back guarantee, but the refund policy sets 7 days, and the guarantee is void once you've used more than 1,000 basic words or 300 advanced words. Go by the stricter rule: 7 days, depending on usage. The pricing page also didn't show amounts when we looked, so check the exact price at checkout.

How to move over. If you want to keep your refund right, test it on one short text within 7 days, then decide. Past 1,000 basic words, treat the money as spent.

StealthGPT: the direct rival, with the same flaws

Look closely

Why switch to StealthGPT. It's Undetectable AI's most-cited rival, and it takes longer inputs: 1,000 words per request on Pro, 2,000 on Max. Its Trustpilot score is a bit higher: 3.9 out of 5 across about 200 reviews.

Who it's for. People who want the same kind of tool with a higher per-request cap.

Who it's not for. Anyone fleeing Undetectable AI over billing. The complaints are the same: one user writes "I didn't realize until much later that I had been charged $13/week since," another that "the cancellation process led me to believe my subscription had been successfully cancelled."

Its limit. No free plan for the humanizer, so there's no way to try before paying. According to a third-party snapshot (its pricing page wouldn't load for us), Pro costs $6.99 a week, or $1 for the first month then $29.99 a month, or $299.99 a year. Its terms of service are readable, though: section 8 says "All purchases are non-refundable," with one exception. If a recognized detector flags the text (Originality.ai excluded), you can get the current billing period back, not more, and not at all if you turned on the tool's optional scoring. The same terms set the quotas: 12,500 words a week, 50,000 a month on Pro.

How to move over. If you go, skip the weekly plan, which renews quietly. Set a reminder the day before the jump to $29.99.

The comparison

The 7 alternatives side by side

Our default pick: Grammarly to make writing more natural without chasing detectors, QuillBot to rework your drafts on a small budget, with several tools in one plan. For scale at the entry level: Undetectable AI costs $9.99 monthly ($5 billed yearly) for 10,000 words, HIX Bypass $14.99 monthly for 5,000 words, QuillBot $8.33 a month billed yearly. Leave cleanly

Leave Undetectable AI in six steps

There's nothing tricky to export: your texts are copy and paste. The real risk is the bill. Each step protects you from one charge too many.

01

Save your texts before you cancel

Day 1

Undetectable AI has no dedicated export. Copy the texts you want to keep into your own document before canceling. Nothing is locked in, but a closed account won't let you look anything up.

Time
a few minutes
Risk if rushed
lost texts
02

Note your plan and renewal date

Day 1

Check in your account which plan you're on, monthly or yearly, and when it renews. One user was charged for a yearly plan "that only included 10,000 words per month" without realizing it at first. Knowing what you pay keeps you from disputing the wrong line.

Write down
plan, cycle, date
03

Cancel in writing and keep proof

Critical

Cancel from your account, then also email contact@undetectable.ai asking for written confirmation. Screenshot the page that confirms the cancellation. Several reviews describe a cancellation followed by a charge, and without proof your request carries less weight.

Watch your statement the next month

Check your bank or card statement on the next renewal date. If a charge goes through despite the cancellation, email support with your proof. Some users got a full refund that way; as a last resort, others went through their bank.

Try the new tool on its free tier

06

Edit, then disclose your AI use

Read every rewritten text: restore headings, lists and your own vocabulary. If your school, university or client has an AI policy, read it and disclose your use. A text you reworked and own up to puts you at far less risk than a hidden one.

The pitfalls

What makes a humanizer switch go wrong

The same mistakes show up in reviews from one tool to the next. None of them is technical: they're oversights, or false promises people believe.

Believing a tool guarantees a pass

None can. Detectors change, contradict each other (9.3% to 71.1% AI on the same text) and sometimes flag human writing. A money-back guarantee protects your money, not your grade or your contract.

Paying yearly before trying

Yearly billing halves Undetectable AI's price, but locks you in for twelve months. Always do one month on monthly first. Check the tier's quota too: a yearly plan can still mean only 10,000 words a month.

Forgetting a weekly plan

At StealthGPT, the weekly Pro plan costs $6.99 a week, per a third-party snapshot. That small amount slips by on a statement, then adds up. Prefer monthly, and set a reminder before each renewal.

Canceling without proof

A cancellation with no screenshot and no confirmation email is hard to defend. Keep both, with the date. That's often the difference between a refund and a no.

Ignoring your school's or client's policy

A school can treat bypassing a detector as academic misconduct, and a client can reject undisclosed AI text. Detectors also make mistakes: if you're wrongly accused, your drafts and your document's version history are your best defense.

Skipping the edit

Humanizers often strip formatting and repeat the same phrasing. Read everything. For a wider ranking, read our guide to the best AI humanizers or browse every guide on Hack'celeration Labs. To compare rewriting tools, see our QuillBot alternatives and our QuillBot pricing breakdown.

FAQ · 11 questions

Undetectable AI alternative: common questions

  • Is Undetectable AI free?

No. There's no lasting free plan, only a trial limited to 250 words. The first plan costs $9.99 a month, or $5 a month billed yearly ($60 a year), for 10,000 words.

  • Can Undetectable AI bypass Turnitin?

No reliable source shows that it does. Users still see humanized text flagged, and one detector company says it catches Undetectable's paraphrasing. More importantly, bypassing Turnitin on an assignment can count as academic misconduct. The only safe route is to disclose your AI use.

  • What's the best free alternative to Undetectable AI?

Grammarly's free humanizer, if your goal is more natural writing. WriteHuman gives you three free 250-word requests a month, and QuillBot a free 125-word rewrite per pass. No free tier works for long documents.

  • Does Undetectable AI give refunds?

On paper, no: the company says subscriptions are non-refundable, and its guarantee only covers the cost of humanizing a text flagged as not human. In practice, support sometimes grants refunds case by case. Write in with your proof of cancellation.

  • Is it safe to use a humanizer for client work?

Yes, to smooth out text you wrote or stand behind, as long as you edit it. If your contract or client bans AI or asks you to disclose it, follow that: undisclosed AI text can get rejected. Keep your drafts as proof of your work.

  • Undetectable AI or StealthGPT: which is better?

No solid independent evidence settles it on detection. StealthGPT takes longer inputs (1,000 words per request on Pro) but has no free tier, and its weekly plan catches people out. If billing drove you away, neither one fixes that.

  • Can a non-native speaker be falsely flagged as AI?

Yes. A 2023 academic study found that detectors consistently misclassify writing by non-native English speakers as AI-generated. If it happens to you, show your document's version history and your drafts. A humanizer isn't the fix: proof of your work is.

  • Can I get my money back from an Undetectable AI alternative?

Rarely in full. WriteHuman says all payments are non-refundable except where the law requires it. StealthGPT only refunds the current billing period if a recognized detector flags the text. Humbot's refund policy allows 7 days, voided after 1,000 basic or 300 advanced words. Use free tiers first and pay monthly.

  • Does Grammarly's humanizer work in other languages?

Yes. Grammarly's Humanizer agent works in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian. It's built to make writing sound more natural, not to bypass detectors.

  • How do I cancel Undetectable AI?

Cancel from your account, then email contact@undetectable.ai asking for written confirmation. Keep a screenshot of the cancellation page and check your statement on the next renewal date. The full walkthrough is in our six steps above.

  • Can I use a humanizer for a school assignment?

Read your school's policy first: many allow AI as long as you disclose it, others ban it. If AI is allowed, say how you used it. If it isn't, a humanizer doesn't fix that and can be treated as misconduct. Either way, keep your drafts and your document's version history.
