Claude Autodesk Product Help connectorWhat Claude can do in your Autodesk Product Help account.
The Claude Autodesk Product Help connector exposes 2 tools, both for reading. 0 change anything and 0 are undocumented. It points Claude at Autodesk's public help library rather than at your files: what it finds, how to scope it by product and version, and its limits.

What changes when Claude answers from Autodesk's own help
Without it, Claude answers Autodesk questions only from what it already knows. With it, Claude looks the answer up in Autodesk's live help content, for the exact product, version and language you name, and builds its reply on that text instead of on a guess.
Lock the product and release first. Before searching, get_available_products tells Claude which products and releases the help library covers and the exact values to use, so a Revit question does not land in AutoCAD pages.
Turn an error code into fix steps. Paste the error text and search_help_content pulls the matching help pages for that product and version, then Claude walks you through the causes and the checks.
Prepare an install or an upgrade. The same search covers installation, licensing and sign-in issues, feature how-tos and system requirements, which gives you a short checklist backed by Autodesk's own wording.
What it does not do matters just as much. The connector reads public documentation, not your Autodesk account: no models, no drawings, no licences, no support cases. Nothing runs on its own either, since no tool reacts when a new release ships. Scheduled or event-driven work belongs to automation platforms, a different job you can explore from the Integrations hub.
Five terms in one minute
The words Claude uses around this connector.
- Connector
- A link you set up once between Claude and an outside service, so Claude can draw on it while it answers you in a conversation.
- Tool
- One named action the connector gives Claude. Claude chooses on its own which tools to call, and the directory lists them by name.
- Authorization
- The sign-in screen a service shows when it needs one, where you grant the access Claude will use. Given per person, revocable later.
- Approval
- The confirmation Claude waits for before an action that changes an account, displayed in the conversation at the moment it counts.
- MCP
- The shared standard behind connectors: it is what lets an assistant such as Claude query an outside service like Autodesk's help library.
Connect Autodesk Product Help in three steps
- 01
Find it in the connector list
Open Claude's settings, go to Customize, then Connectors, and look up Autodesk Product Help. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner enables it before members can use it.
- 02
Start the connection
Click Connect on its row. Autodesk lists the endpoint behind this connector as public, with no authentication required, so a sign-in window may not appear. If the link ever breaks, Disconnect and connect again.
- 03
Check any screen before you accept
If a service shows an authorization screen, read it before accepting: it belongs to the service, not to Claude, and it sets what the access covers. Access granted there can be withdrawn later from the service itself.
The 2 tools, both reading Autodesk's help
Autodesk Product Help gives Claude 2 tools: 2 that read your account, 0 that change something in it.
One tool to find the right product, one to search its documentation. Names stay as Claude shows them.

What Claude reads (2)
2 toolsTwo tools that query public help content and change nothing.
get_available_products
Returns the products and supported releases the help library covers, along with the exact values to reuse in a search. Claude uses it to scope a question before looking anything up.
search_help_content
Searches Autodesk Help and Support pages by keywords, narrowed to a product, a version and a locale such as de_DE. Claude gets the matching help text and summarizes the steps for you.
What Claude checks with you first
By default, Claude stops and asks before each action it carries out on an account for someone, inside the conversation.
On Team and Enterprise, workspace owners decide whether members may let some actions through without a prompt every time. They can also limit what a connector may do for the whole organization, for instance keeping reading open and writing closed, and nobody overrides that from a personal account. Claude works with the rights of the person connected and nothing more. Here, both tools read public pages, so the question of what Claude can touch in your account barely arises.
Which plans include it
None of the 819 sheets in the official directory states plan availability. That answer is published nowhere, connector by connector.
The general rule is public: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner turns a connector on for the organization before members can use it. For the current state of this one, open the Autodesk Product Help sheet in the official directory.
Where this connector stops
A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you, so nothing fires when Autodesk publishes a new release or updates a page.
By default the sheet exposes only reading; that is an observed floor, not a guarantee, since an administrator can open actions no public sheet shows. The partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says on every sheet that it neither picks a publisher's tools nor guarantees their behavior. Only Autodesk documents this connector; no Claude help page covers it. Other publishers follow the same rules, for example on the Claude adobe-workfront connector page.
