Overview

What changes when Claude can query Crustdata

Building a prospect list or a hiring benchmark usually means a filter screen, an export and a spreadsheet. With the connector, you describe the list you want and Claude runs the Crustdata searches itself: companies by industry and headcount, people by title and seniority, open roles by company. The directory mentions 150+ search filters and 350+ enrichment datapoints.

Size a market in one question. Ask for AI startups within a headcount range: crustdata_company_search_db filters the company database, and crustdata_company_enrich fills in funding, headcount or revenue for the ones you keep.

Reach the right person. crustdata_people_search_db finds engineering leaders at a target account, then crustdata_people_enrich looks up a profile by its URL or by an email address.

Read hiring signals. crustdata_job_search_live fetches the roles a company has open right now, and the batch versions compare up to 10 companies at once.

Keep an eye on changes. crustdata_watcher_create sets up a watcher on Crustdata's side, sending updates to an address you choose (a webhook) when job posts, social posts or profiles change.

What it will not do: export into your CRM, send a message or email anyone. Nearly every search or enrichment spends Crustdata credits, and three tools about social posts and filter values have no matching description. Claude only calls these tools while it answers you. For a connector that writes into a sales tool, see the Claude activecampaign connector page.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary in one minute

Six words you will meet while connecting Crustdata.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already own, so Claude can work in it while it answers you.
Tool
One named thing a connector lets Claude do. Claude picks the ones it needs on its own; the directory sheet lists them by name.
Authorization
Crustdata's own sign-in page, where you hand Claude the access it will use. Given once per person, and you can take it back.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes ahead with something that changes your account, shown in the chat when it matters.
Directory
The official catalogue where every connector has a sheet listing its publisher, its purpose and the tools it exposes.
MCP
The shared standard connectors are built on, which is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service such as Crustdata.
Connect

Connect Crustdata to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

Find Crustdata in the connector list

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Crustdata. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector first; each member then connects individually.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on its row. Crustdata then opens a login page of its own: there you either enter the API key from your Crustdata account or log in with your usual Crustdata credentials.

  3. 03

    Confirm the access

Read the screen before you confirm. It belongs to Crustdata, not to Claude, and it decides what the access covers. If authentication fails later, Disconnect and connect again with a valid key.

Tools

The 23 tools, sorted by what they do

Crustdata gives Claude 23 tools: 18 that read your account, 2 that change something in it, and 3 no official source describes.

Three groups: what Claude looks up, what it changes, and the three tools that no official text describes. Names stay exactly as Claude shows them. Credit costs come from Crustdata's documentation.

What Claude looks up (18)

18 tools

Eighteen tools that search, enrich or check data without changing your account. Most of them spend credits.

crustdata_company_identify

Matches a company from its name, its domain or its profile URL, so the next searches start from the right record. Crustdata lists it as free.

When it helps
you type "Acme" and want to be sure Claude picked the software firm, not the hardware one.
Watch out
it only confirms who the company is; details come from enrichment.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_company_enrich

Returns a full company profile with headcount, funding, revenue and more, at 1 to 4 credits per call according to Crustdata.

When it helps
before a first call, you want the funding history and team size of a prospect in one answer.
Watch out
the cost ranges from 1 to 4 credits per call, so enrich only the companies you keep.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_company_search_db

Filters Crustdata's company database by industry, headcount, location or funding, for 1 credit per search.

When it helps
you are building a target list of fintechs in Europe with a given team size.
Watch out
a very broad query can time out; Crustdata advises narrowing the filters.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_job_search_live

Fetches the job listings a single company has online right now, at 1 credit per job.

When it helps
you ask what Stripe is hiring for today, not what the database held last week.
Watch out
it covers one company per call; for several, the batch version is the fit.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_batch_job_search_live

Does the same across up to 10 companies but against their live listings, again at 1 credit per job.

When it helps
a weekly check on what a shortlist of rivals has just opened.
Watch out
ten large employers can return a lot of jobs, and therefore a lot of credits.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_people_enrich

Looks up a person's profile from a profile URL, a business email or a personal email, for 2 to 5 credits.

When it helps
you have an email from a webinar sign-up and want the person's role and company.
Watch out
if the profile is not in the database, Crustdata answers "not found" and there is nothing more to return.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_people_search_db

Filters Crustdata's people database by title, company, seniority or skills, for 3 credits per 100 results.

When it helps
you want every VP of Engineering at SaaS firms in a region.
Watch out
billing is per 100 results, so a very wide query adds up before you notice.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_credits_check

Shows your current credit balance and account tier. The check itself is free.

When it helps
before a big enrichment run, you want to know if the balance will hold.
Watch out
when credits run out, searches fail with an "insufficient credits" error until you top up.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_autocomplete_company

Suggests the valid values for company filters, such as the exact industry labels Crustdata accepts. It costs no credits, per the publisher.

When it helps
your search for "fintech" returns nothing because the label is spelled differently.
Watch out
it returns labels, not companies; the search itself comes after.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_autocomplete_person

Returns the values Crustdata recognizes for people fields like title or seniority. No credits here either.

When it helps
you want to know whether "Head of" and "Director" map to the same seniority bucket.
Watch out
it gives accepted values, not people; the people search comes after.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_watcher_simulate

Tries out a watcher configuration without saving anything, so you see what it would catch. The test run is free, per Crustdata.

When it helps
before monitoring a competitor's job posts, you want to check the filter is not too noisy.
Watch out
nothing is kept afterwards; a real watcher takes crustdata_watcher_create.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_watcher_list

Lists all the watchers active on your Crustdata account, at no credit cost.

When it helps
a colleague left and you want to see which monitors are still running.
Watch out
it only lists them; pausing one is a job for crustdata_watcher_update.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_web_fetch

Retrieves a web page and extracts its content, at 1 credit per page.

When it helps
you want the text of a company's careers or pricing page summarized in the chat.
Watch out
one credit per page adds up if Claude reads many pages in a row.

What Claude changes (2)

2 tools

Two tools that create or edit watchers in your Crustdata account. No source gives them a confirmation of their own; the general rule below applies.

crustdata_watcher_create

Approval: see the rule

Creates a watcher on Crustdata that monitors job posts, social posts or profile changes and pushes updates to the address you give it, for 1 credit.

What Claude asks for
no source describes a confirmation for this tool, so the general approval rule below covers it.
When it helps
you want to be alerted when a target account opens sales roles.
Watch out
the monitoring runs on Crustdata's side, not in Claude.

Sourcedocs.crustdata.com · September 30, 2026 ↗

crustdata_watcher_update

Approval: see the rule

Changes an existing watcher: pause it, resume it or point it at another destination. Crustdata bills nothing for the change.

What Claude asks for
no confirmation specific to this tool is documented; the default approval rule applies.
When it helps
a campaign is over and the alerts on that account should stop for now.

Undocumented (3)

3 tools

The directory publishes these names. Crustdata describes tools under different names, and nothing official links the two, so we do not guess.

crustdata_company_linkedin_posts

No official source describes this tool under this name. Crustdata documents social-post tools under other names, and nothing official links them to this one.

Watch out
if Claude calls it, the general approval rule applies, and this page makes no claim about its cost.

crustdata_linkedin_posts

Listed on the directory sheet, missing from Crustdata's own tool table under this exact name. Its behavior is undocumented.

Watch out
treat it like any undescribed tool: the default approval rule covers it, and credits may or may not apply.

crustdata_autocomplete_linkedin_filter

The name appears on the sheet; the publisher's documentation uses a different name for its filter tools and does not connect the two, so this page says nothing about its result.

Watch out
the general approval rule is the only thing that applies to it with certainty.
Approvals

What Claude asks before it acts

By default, Claude stops and asks before any action it takes on your behalf. The request shows up in the chat, at the moment it matters.

On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether members can let some actions through without being asked each time. They can also limit what a connector may do for the whole organization, for instance keeping searches open and closing the watcher tools; that setting applies to everyone. Claude works with your Crustdata access and nothing more: your key's limits and credit balance are its limits too.

Plans

Which plans include it

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows availability by plan. That answer, connector by connector, is not published anywhere; it is a real gap in the catalogue.

The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables a connector for the organization before members connect. For the current status, the Crustdata sheet in the official directory is the reference. Credits are a separate matter, billed by Crustdata.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you. Watchers do monitor on their own, but on Crustdata's side, sending updates elsewhere, not into your chat.

The tool list is an observed floor, not a promise: an administrator can open actions no public sheet shows. The partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says on every sheet that it does not pick a publisher's tools or guarantee how they behave. Everything specific here comes from Crustdata's own documentation; Anthropic has no page on this connector. Other connector pages are in the Integrations hub.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Claude Crustdata connector

01What can Claude do with the Crustdata connector?
Claude can search and enrich B2B data from the chat. Its documented tools find and enrich companies, search and enrich people, look up stored and live job listings for one or up to 10 companies, check your credits, search and fetch web pages, and create, update, test or list watchers. Three more tools, about social posts and filter values, are on the sheet with no matching description. You describe the list you need; Claude chains the searches.
02Can Claude change anything in my Crustdata account?
Yes, but only watchers. Two tools create a watcher or update one, for example to pause it or change where its alerts go. Everything else searches or enriches without changing your account, though most calls spend credits. By default the sheet exposes nothing that deletes data or writes to another system, and an administrator on a workspace can restrict even the watcher tools. In short, the only thing it changes is how Crustdata watches for you.
03Does Claude ask before creating a watcher or spending credits?
By default, Claude asks for confirmation before any action it takes on your behalf. No source describes a confirmation specific to the watcher tools, so that default rule is what applies. Searches do not change your data, yet most of them cost credits; Crustdata publishes the cost of each tool, which this page repeats. On Team or Enterprise, owners decide whether members may skip some prompts. Checking the balance first, with the credits tool, is a good habit before a big run.
04Which Claude plans include the Crustdata connector?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets shows it. The published rule says remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables a connector first. The Crustdata sheet in the official directory shows the current status. Crustdata credits are billed separately by the publisher. The sheet can change between two updates of the catalogue.
05Does Claude see everything in our Crustdata account?
Claude works with the access tied to the key or account you connected, nothing more. It can search the data that access allows, check the credit balance and see the watchers on that account. If your key has a lower tier, its limits apply to Claude too. The credits check shows that tier alongside the balance, so you can see which limits apply. A colleague with another key may therefore see different limits.
06What happens when my Crustdata credits run out?
Searches and enrichments stop working. Crustdata documents an insufficient-credits error when the balance is empty and sends you to its app to top up. A few tools cost nothing, such as identifying a company, checking credits, suggesting filter values and managing watcher settings, but the rest draw on the balance. Asking Claude to check credits before a large run avoids surprises. Credits and account tier are shown by the same check.
07Should I use Claude or an automation tool with Crustdata?
They do different jobs, so it depends on the use. Claude with this connector suits exploratory work: build a list, look up a person, compare hiring across rivals, all in conversation. An automation tool runs a fixed pipeline on its own, such as enriching every new lead in your CRM. Crustdata's watchers already monitor on their side; Claude itself never starts anything unprompted. The two approaches can work side by side.
