Overview

Why plug Brisk into Claude

Prepping a lesson often means juggling a planning doc, a quiz builder and a standards list in three tabs. With the connector, you describe what your class needs in one sentence, and Claude builds it inside your Brisk account, then hands back the links. The material lands where you already work, ready to edit before any student sees it.

A lesson plan or quiz in your Drive. Ask for a fractions lesson for fifth grade, or a ten-question photosynthesis quiz: create_teaching_resource writes it as a Google Doc or a Google Form and returns the link.

A student activity that waits for you. create_boost_activity sets up an interactive activity, such as a tutor, a debate or an exit ticket, as a draft. Only when you are happy does finalize_boost_activity mark it ready to share.

Materials matched to the right framework. list_standards browses Brisk's standards database by framework, state and grade, so a worksheet can cite real standard codes.

What it won't do: grade student work inside Claude. For batch feedback, Claude only creates the assignment shell; you add submissions and run the feedback in the Brisk web app. It doesn't publish anything to students on its own, and nothing runs on a schedule. Recurring classroom chores belong to an automation tool, a different trade; the Integrations hub gathers that side.

Connect

Connect Brisk Teaching to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Brisk in Claude

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Brisk Teaching. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to switch the connector on before each teacher can link it.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on its row, then sign in to Brisk in the window Brisk opens itself, with the same account you use on the Brisk web app. If the link breaks, Disconnect and connect again.

  3. 03

    Read the authorization screen

Read Brisk's screen before you allow access. It belongs to Brisk, not Claude, and it sets what the access covers. Access granted here can also be withdrawn later from your Brisk account.

What Claude reads (5)

5 tools

Five tools that look up ideas, standards, your classes or a material's progress without changing anything.

generate_next_ideas

When it helps
fifteen minutes are left in a lesson and you need a quick review activity on decimals.

list_standards

Browses Brisk's database of academic standards, filtered by framework, state and grade, so a material can reference official codes rather than vague goals.

When it helps
you teach in Texas and want a lesson tied to the right state standards.
Watch out
Brisk says matching standards are confirmed with you before they are applied.

get_boost_activity

Checks on a Boost activity Claude just started, so it can play back what was built while generation is still running.

get_teacher_context

nothing tool-specific is documented; see the general rule below.

Approvals

What Claude asks before it acts

By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before any action it takes on an account on your behalf. No source says whether the four Brisk tools that create material have a confirmation of their own.

Brisk builds in its own brakes. Activities start as drafts and are never published to students by creation alone, and the standards Claude finds are checked with you before they are applied. When a grade level is missing, Brisk says Claude will ask rather than guess. On Team and Enterprise, owners decide whether members can let some actions through without being asked, and they can limit what a connector may do for the whole organization. Claude works with your rights and nothing more.

Plans

Which plans it's available on

Not one of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows plan availability. Connector by connector, that answer simply isn't published anywhere.

The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner switches the connector on for the organization before members can link it. Brisk's own credits are a separate matter, covered in the limits below. For the current state of this connector, check its sheet in the official directory: it is the only page kept up to date, and the one to trust over any blog post.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you, and nothing starts when a new term begins or a student submits work.

Everything specific here comes from Brisk: no Claude help article covers this connector. The directory badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says on every sheet that it doesn't control which tools a publisher exposes or guarantee how they behave. By default, Brisk's tools create drafts and look things up; publishing to students stays a manual step on your side. The same questions are answered, tool by tool, on the Claude agility-cms connector page, for a very different job.

FAQ

Claude Brisk Teaching connector: frequently asked questions

01What can Claude do with the Brisk Teaching connector?
Claude can create teaching material inside your Brisk account and look up what it needs to tailor it. It writes lesson plans, quizzes, rubrics, worksheets and sub plans as Google Docs or Forms, builds interactive Boost activities as drafts, and sets up batch feedback assignments. It can also suggest activity ideas, browse Brisk's standards database by state and grade, and read your class names, grades and subjects. You don't need to name a tool: describe the need and Claude chooses.
02Can Claude create or publish things in my Brisk account?
It can create, but publishing stays with you. Four tools change your account: one produces a teaching resource, one builds a Boost activity, one creates a batch feedback assignment and one marks an activity ready to share. Brisk is clear that a new Boost activity starts as a draft and never reaches students by itself: you decide when to send the student link. For batch feedback, Claude creates only the shell; student work and the feedback run happen in the Brisk web app.
03Does Claude ask before creating anything in Brisk?
By default, Claude asks for confirmation before any action it carries out on an account on your behalf. No source documents a confirmation specific to one Brisk tool, so that default covers the four creation tools. Brisk adds its own checks: standards are confirmed with you before they are applied, and Claude asks for a grade level when your request lacks one. On Team and Enterprise, owners decide whether members may let some actions through without a prompt.
04Which plans is it available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and no directory sheet displays it. The general rule says remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner must switch the connector on for the organization before teachers can link it. Separately, Brisk meters some features with its own credits. The connector's sheet in the official directory is the only place showing its current state for your account.
05Does Claude see my students' data in Brisk?
No. The tool that reads your context returns class names, grades and subjects, and Brisk states it never reads student data. Beyond that, the connector works with your own Brisk account, signed in with the same login you use on the web app, so Claude reaches what you can reach and nothing more. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an owner can also restrict what any connector may do for everyone, and a member can't override that from their own settings.
06Why does Brisk fail to create my quiz from Claude?
The most common reason is a missing Google connection. Brisk delivers lesson plans, worksheets and quizzes as Google Docs or Google Forms, and its help article says those tools need a Google account connected in Brisk first. Another cause can be your Brisk credits: some features, quizzes and batch feedback among them, draw on limits tied to your Brisk account. Fix the Google link in Brisk, check your credits, then ask Claude again in a new message.
07Claude or an automation tool for Brisk Teaching?
They solve different problems, so the task decides. Claude works inside a conversation: you describe a lesson or activity, it builds it in Brisk and hands back the links, then waits for your next request. It doesn't react on its own to a new term, a timetable or a student submission. For work that must run in the background on an event or a schedule, an automation tool is the right trade. For on-demand lesson prep, the connector fits.
