Overview

What changes when Claude can call Courtroom5

Someone served with a lawsuit usually starts with a search engine and a pile of contradictory forum posts. With this connector, they describe what happened to Claude in their own words, name their state, and Claude calls a Courtroom5 tool that answers from rules specific to that jurisdiction instead of general knowledge.

Know whether there is a case at all. A tenant whose deposit was kept tells the story, and case_intake_assessment returns how viable the claim looks, which claims may apply, which court handles it and the first concrete moves.

Stop guessing the clock. After being served, deadline_calculator gives the dates that apply and what happens if one is missed. Courtroom5 says it reads a precomputed table of court rules, not a model's guess.

Get unstuck mid-case. A defendant who already filed an answer asks what comes next, and next_step_guidance returns the two or three actions that matter most at that stage.

What it will not do: criminal matters, immigration, bankruptcy and anything outside the United States are out of scope, and every answer carries a notice that it is legal information, not legal advice. Nothing runs on its own either: Claude calls these tools only while it answers you, so no deadline reminder fires by itself. Scheduled reminders are the job of an automation tool, a different trade covered from the Integrations hub.

Vocabulary

Five words to know first

The Claude vocabulary used on this page, in one minute.

Connector
A link you set up once between Claude and an outside service, so Claude can use that service while it answers you.
Tool
One named thing a connector lets Claude do. Claude picks the right one by itself, and the directory sheet lists each name.
Authorization
The sign-in screen of the service, where you grant the access Claude will use. Given once per person, and it can be withdrawn.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before doing something that changes an account, shown in the conversation when it matters.
MCP
The common standard connectors are built on, which is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service.
Connect

Add Courtroom5 to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the connector list

In Claude's settings, go to Customize, then Connectors, and look for Courtroom5. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner must enable it before members can each use it.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on the Courtroom5 row. Any sign-in window that follows belongs to the service, not to Claude. If the link breaks later, Disconnect and connect again.

  3. 03

    Check what you accept

Read any authorization screen before you confirm it, because that screen belongs to the service and decides what the access covers. Courtroom5 says its connector needs no account. No sign-up either.

Tools

The 3 tools, all on the reading side

Courtroom5 gives Claude 3 tools: 3 that read your account, 0 that change something in it.

Every tool here returns guidance and changes nothing. Names stay exactly as Claude shows them.

3 tools

case_intake_assessment

From the person's own account of the problem, Claude gets back an estimate of whether a civil case is viable, the likely claims, the right court and the first steps to take.

When it helps
a landlord kept the whole security deposit and the tenant wants to know if suing is worth it.
Watch out
civil matters only; criminal cases, immigration and bankruptcy are out of its scope.

deadline_calculator

Given an event that already happened, such as being served or a motion being filed, this returns the procedural due dates and the consequence of missing each one, read from a lookup table of verified court rules.

When it helps
a debt collection summons arrived on a known date and the answer is due soon.
Watch out
state data covers 15 states for now, and the reply flags thin coverage.

next_step_guidance

For someone already inside a civil lawsuit, Claude receives the two or three most pressing actions for their stage, role and state, each naming a module of Courtroom5's LAW Accelerator.

When it helps
the answer is filed, discovery just opened and the defendant has no idea what to prepare.
Watch out
it assumes a case is under way; a brand new problem goes through intake.

Approvals

What Claude asks before acting

By default, Claude stops and asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account for someone.

All three Courtroom5 tools only return information, and no source describes a specific confirmation for any of them, so the default rule is what applies. On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners decide whether members can let some actions run without a prompt every time, and they can restrict what a connector may do for the whole organization. Claude never reaches further than the person who connected it.

Plans

Which Claude plans can use it

No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector. That is a real hole in the catalog, not a gap in our research.

The published rule is general: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, and on Team and Enterprise an Owner or Primary Owner opens a connector for the organization first. For the live state of this one, check its sheet in the official directory, the only page that shows it, and do it from your own account.

Limits

Where the connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while answering, so nothing fires when a court date approaches.

This connector is documented only by its publisher: no Claude help page covers it. By default its sheet exposes reading only, which is an observed floor rather than a promise, since an administrator can open actions no public sheet shows. The directory badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic states on every sheet that it neither picks a publisher's tools nor guarantees how they behave. Connect it only if you trust the publisher. For a connector that does change things in an account, see the Claude adobe-workfront connector page.

FAQ

Questions about the Claude Courtroom5 connector

01What can Claude do with the Courtroom5 connector?
Claude can call three Courtroom5 tools built for people handling a civil case without a lawyer in the United States. One assesses whether a situation looks like a viable case, which claims may apply and which court handles it. One returns procedural deadlines after an event such as being served. The last suggests the two or three most important next actions for someone already in litigation. You describe the situation in plain words and name your state, and Claude picks the tool.
02Can Claude file anything or change a case through Courtroom5?
No tool in the published list writes anything: all three return guidance and leave everything as it was. Courtroom5's own server marks each of them as read-only. That is what the public sheet shows today, not a permanent promise, since an administrator can open actions that appear on no public page. Filing documents with a court is not something any of these tools describes. The person still has to act on the guidance themselves, at the courthouse or through its filing system.
03Does Claude ask before it uses these tools?
By default, Claude asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account for someone. No source describes a specific confirmation for any of the three Courtroom5 tools, so that general rule is what applies. On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners can let members skip the prompt for certain actions, or restrict what the connector may do for the whole organization. Since every tool here only returns information, nothing in your accounts changes either way.
04Which Claude plans is the Courtroom5 connector available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets shows it. The general rule is that remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner or Primary Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise workspaces. The connector's sheet in the official directory is the one place that shows its current state for your account, so check it there.
05Does Courtroom5 see my conversations or keep my data?
Courtroom5 says its connector collects no name, email or account details, needs no account at all, and does not store conversations once the response is generated. It also says the data is not used to train any model. Claude sends the tool the narrative and details needed to answer, such as your state and what happened. Inside a workspace, Claude only ever works with the rights of the person who connected it, nothing more.
06What if my state is not covered by the deadline calculator?
The deadline data currently covers the 15 most active US states for civil litigation, and Courtroom5 says the remaining states are rolling out. When your state is outside that list, the response flags limited coverage instead of inventing dates. In that case, confirm every deadline against the summons you received and your court's local rules. The tool description also tells Claude to ask for the exact date of the triggering event when you do not give it.
07Claude or an automation tool for Courtroom5?
They do different jobs, so the choice depends on the use. Claude with this connector answers questions in a conversation: you describe your case and get an assessment, deadlines or next steps right away. An automation tool runs on its own, for example to send a reminder when a date approaches, and nothing in this connector does that. If you need scheduled nudges, that belongs to automation; if you need to understand where you stand, Claude is the fit.
