Claude Deel connectorWhat Claude can do in your Deel account.

The Claude Deel connector exposes 95 tools. 72 of them read contracts, people, pay and reference data, 13 change something in your account, and 10 are documented nowhere. Below: what Claude answers, what it can sign or file, and what depends on Deel's own permissions.

Verified Trustpilot reviews · AI, automation & growth agency

Overview

What changes for the team that runs a global workforce

Deel holds contracts, payments, time off, benefits and compliance for people in many countries. The connector lets Claude answer from that data in plain language: who is onboarding, what a hire would cost in Portugal, which invoices were paid. It can also file a leave request, amend a contract or sign one, always with a confirmation step.

Price a hire before you post it. calculate_employment_cost estimates the cost in one country, calculate_eor_versus_entity_hiring_costs compares hiring through an employer of record with using your own entity, and check_visa_requirement tells you whether a visa is needed.

Answer everyday HR questions. get_profile_entitlements shows remaining leave, create_time_off_request files a request, and get_eor_worker_payslips retrieves payslips when an employee asks for them.

Close the paperwork on a contract. list_of_contracts finds it, amend_contract records a change, and sign_contract adds your signature.

Now what the connector does not do. Deel's reference gives one short line per tool, so returned fields are rarely described, and ten tools on the directory sheet are not in that reference at all. Each tool also needs the matching Deel scope: organization-wide data requires organization-level access. Nothing runs by itself either: for a welcome email sent when a contract is signed, an automation tool does that job, and the Deel Make integration page covers it.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary in one minute

Five words you will meet while plugging Deel into Claude.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already own, so Claude can work in it while answering you.
Tool
One named action a connector opens to Claude. Claude picks the ones it needs by itself; the directory lists each by name.
Authorization
The sign-in screen of the service itself, where you hand Claude its access. Granted once per person, and you can take it back.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes through with something that changes your account, shown right in the chat.
MCP
The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant such as Claude talk to an outside service.
Connect

Plug Deel into Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Deel in Claude

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Deel in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to switch the connector on first so each member can sign in.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on its row, then sign in to Deel in the window that Deel opens itself. If the link ever breaks later on, use Disconnect and then plug it back in.

  3. 03

    Read the authorization screen

Read the authorization screen before you accept. It belongs to Deel, not to Claude, and it is what decides what the access covers. You can also withdraw that access later from your Deel account.

Tools

The 95 tools, sorted by what they do

Deel gives Claude 95 tools: 72 that read your account, 13 that change something in it, and 10 no official source describes.

Three groups: what Claude reads, what it changes, and what no official source describes. Tool names stay exactly as Claude shows them.

  • 72 read
  • 13 write
  • 10 not documented

Not documented (10)

10 tools

The directory publishes these ten names and nothing else. No official text says what they do, and this page will not guess from a name.

add_workflow_actions

The directory lists this name and nothing more. Deel's tools reference does not include it, and no Claude page mentions it, so nothing is said here about what it covers.

Watch out
whatever add_workflow_actions does, the general approvals rule applies to it, as it does to every tool on this page.

add_workflow_trigger

Only its name appears on the directory sheet. No official source describes it, and reading a role into the name would be a guess this page refuses to make.

Watch out
whatever add_workflow_trigger does, the general approvals rule applies to it, as it does to every tool on this page.

create_analytics_tile

Listed by the directory without a line of explanation. Neither Deel's reference nor Claude's help center says what it returns or when Claude would call it.

Watch out
whatever create_analytics_tile does, the general approvals rule applies to it, as it does to every tool on this page.

get_advance_eligibility_check

Deel's tables skip this name entirely, and no other source picks it up. With nothing written, this page stays silent on its effect.

Watch out
whatever get_advance_eligibility_check does, the general approvals rule applies to it, as it does to every tool on this page.

get_analytics_metadata_by_entity_name

Nothing in the sources goes beyond its listing in the directory. It sits next to documented tools, yet no sentence from Deel or Anthropic says what it does.

Watch out
whatever get_analytics_metadata_by_entity_name does, the general approvals rule applies to it, as it does to every tool on this page.

get_invoice_adjustments

The directory shows it, Deel's developer pages do not describe it, and Claude's documentation has no page for this connector. There is no text to rely on.

Watch out
whatever get_invoice_adjustments does, the general approvals rule applies to it, as it does to every tool on this page.

get_salary_histogram_for_a_role_in_multiple_countries

Deel documents a salary histogram tool under a slightly different spelling, but no source describes this exact name, so this page treats it as undocumented.

Watch out
whatever get_salary_histogram_for_a_role_in_multiple_countries does, the general approvals rule applies to it, as it does to every tool on this page.

list_of_immigration_cases

A listed name that no documentation covers. Deel's reference groups dozens of tools by domain, but not this one, and nothing on Claude's side fills the gap.

Watch out
whatever list_of_immigration_cases does, the general approvals rule applies to it, as it does to every tool on this page.

query_analytics_data

Published by the directory as a bare name. No official page describes this tool, so its role remains unknown here and in every source we read.

Watch out
whatever query_analytics_data does, the general approvals rule applies to it, as it does to every tool on this page.

withdrawal_tracking_info

This name appears in the tool list with no accompanying text from any official source. We read Deel's introduction, reference and best practices without finding it.

Watch out
whatever withdrawal_tracking_info does, the general approvals rule applies to it, as it does to every tool on this page.
Approvals

What Claude asks before it acts

By default, Claude stops and asks you before any action it takes on an account on your behalf. The request shows up in the conversation, at the moment it matters.

On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without being asked every time. They can also limit what a connector may do for the whole organization, for instance keeping reading open and closing writing. That setting applies to everyone and nobody gets around it from their own account. Finally, Claude works with your rights and nothing beyond: a record your Deel role cannot open stays closed to it too.

Plans

Which plans include it

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows plan availability. The answer per connector is published nowhere, and that is a real hole in the catalog rather than a gap in our reading.

The general rule is public: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner opens a connector for the organization before members can each sign in. For the live state of this one, go to Deel's sheet in the official directory, the only place that shows it.

Limits

Where the Claude Deel connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you: nothing starts when a contract is signed or a payment clears.

This connector is documented only by its publisher: neither Claude's help center nor Anthropic's developer docs cover it, so the facts here come from the directory sheet and Deel's developer pages for its server. Those pages describe each tool in one short line. The partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic states on every sheet that it does not control which tools a publisher exposes. The Integrations hub gathers the automation families.

FAQ

Claude Deel connector: frequent questions

01What can Claude do with the Deel connector?
Claude can answer from your Deel data and act on part of it. Seventy-two described tools read contracts, people and HR records, payslips, invoices and payments, time off, benefits, compliance and immigration documents, IT equipment and reference data, and run hiring cost calculations. Thirteen tools create or amend contracts, sign them, file or adjust time off, add payments, adjust invoices and update personal data. Ten more are listed with no description.
02Can Claude sign contracts or change pay in Deel?
Yes, several of the thirteen write tools go that far. One signs a contract, which commits your side of the agreement. Others add an off-cycle payment to a contract, create or update invoice adjustments, amend a contract or create a new one, and update personal information. Time-off requests can be filed, adjusted or cancelled. Each of these deserves a careful read of the confirmation before you accept it, since some cannot simply be taken back.
03Does Claude ask before it acts in Deel?
By default, yes: Claude asks for a confirmation before any action it takes on an account on your behalf. No source describes a confirmation specific to a Deel tool, so that default rule covers all thirteen tools that change something. Deel adds its own layer: a token without the right scope is refused. On Team and Enterprise, owners decide what passes without a prompt and can close writing entirely for the organization.
04Which plans is it available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and no directory sheet shows it. The general rule says remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner or Primary Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise. Deel names no Claude plan for this connector, only a Deel account with API access enabled. The directory sheet shows the current state for your account.
05Does Claude see everyone's data in Deel?
No, Claude works with the rights of the person who connected and nothing more. Deel adds its own scopes on top: organization-wide tools need organization-level scopes, worker tools need worker-level authentication, and only public reference data needs no user permission. If a record is out of your reach in Deel, it stays out of Claude's reach too. The authorization screen belongs to Deel, and it decides what the access covers, not Claude.
06Why does Claude call several Deel tools for one question?
Because Deel exposes a large number of tools and many questions touch more than one domain. Deel itself warns that broad prompts may make an assistant invoke several tools in a row, and recommends specific prompts, such as asking for EOR contracts rather than everything. Deel also applies the same rate limits as its REST API, so very wide requests across many people or countries can slow down or hit those limits.
07Should I use Claude or an automation tool with Deel?
They do different jobs, so pick by use. Claude works inside a conversation: you ask, it looks up, calculates, files or signs, and nothing happens once you stop. It does not react on its own when a contract is signed or a new hire starts. When you need a process to fire on those events, an automation tool fits. When you want answers and one-off HR actions on demand, the connector does.
