Overview

What the Claude Infobip Message connector changes for notifications

Rather than opening the Infobip console for a one-off message, you ask Claude to let a customer know. It drafts the text with you, sends it over SMS, RCS, MMS or Viber in a single tool call, then can check how the message is doing. The publisher aims it at simple notifications, not campaigns.

Confirm an order or a delivery. A customer is waiting on a package: send delivers text, an image or a link to a file over the channel you pick, without you handling each channel's rules.

Remind someone of an appointment. A dental practice wants to ping a patient the day before: you give the number and the time, Claude writes it and sends it.

Find out whether it landed. The sheet promises delivery reports so Claude knows whether a message got through, and lists check_status next to send; no source names the tool that returns them. Infobip's repository marks that feature as planned: the limits section sets the two versions side by side.

What Claude does not do with this connector: no scheduling, no message logs, no bulk sends, no templates, no WhatsApp or email; Infobip keeps those on other servers. And nothing goes out on its own: Claude sends only during a conversation, when you ask. For a reminder triggered by an event, you need an automation tool, a different job; the Integrations hub covers that side.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary in one minute

Five words you will meet while connecting Infobip Message.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and a service, so Claude can work with it while it answers you.
Tool
One named capability the connector opens to Claude. Claude picks the ones it needs, and the directory sheet lists them all.
Authorization
The service's own sign-in screen, where you hand Claude the access it will use from then on. Granted once, and taken back the same way.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before it completes an action that changes your account, shown right in the conversation.
MCP
The shared standard behind connectors: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service.
Connect

Connect Infobip Message to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

Find Infobip Message in your settings

Open Claude's settings, go to Customize then Connectors, and locate Infobip Message in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable it before you can sign in.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Hit Connect on its row, then sign in through the window that the service opens on its own side. If the link ever breaks, use Disconnect and connect it again.

  3. 03

    Review the authorization screen

Read the authorization screen before you accept: it belongs to the service, and it sets what the access covers. You can also revoke that access later from your Infobip Message account.

Tools

The 2 tools in the Infobip Message connector

Infobip Message gives Claude 2 tools: 1 that read your account, 1 that change something in it.

One tool reads a message's status, the other sends. Names stay exactly as Claude shows them.

  • 1 read
  • 1 write

What Claude reads (1)

1 tool

One tool that looks up a send without changing anything.

check_status

The second tool on the sheet. That sheet promises delivery reports that tell Claude whether a message landed; this page ties that promise to check_status, a link no source makes by name, and Infobip's repository marks delivery reports as planned.

When it helps
a customer swears the confirmation never arrived and you want to know before you fire off a second one.

What Claude changes (1)

1 tool

One tool that pushes a message out to a real recipient. No source describes its confirmation, so the general rule applies.

send

Approval: see the rule

Pushes out a text, an image or a link to a file over SMS, RCS, MMS or Viber in one call. This is the tool that reaches a real phone: the message lands with the person.

no source describes a confirmation specific to this tool; the general approvals rule is what applies.

Approvals

What Claude asks before it acts

By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before each action it takes on an account for you. With a tool that sends real messages, that safeguard is the one that matters.

On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without confirmation. They can also cap what a connector may do across the organization, keeping status checks and shutting sends for instance, and nobody bypasses that from a personal account. Claude works with your Infobip access and nothing beyond it. For its part, Infobip stresses fine-grained access controls for high-impact operations such as sending.

Plans

Which plans it is available on

None of the 819 sheets in the directory shows availability by plan. Connector by connector, that information is not published anywhere: a genuine gap in the catalogue.

The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner turns the connector on for the organization before members can connect. For the current state, check the Infobip Message sheet in the official directory.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you: no message goes out when an order is placed or an appointment draws near.

The tool list is an observed floor, not a promise: an admin can open actions that appear on no public sheet. The partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says so on every sheet: it does not choose the publisher's tools and does not vouch for their behavior. This connector is documented by its sheet and Infobip's repository alone, which flags it as early access. To compare with another connector's page, see the Claude activecampaign connector.

Two official sources disagree

Does the connector return delivery reports?

What this page followsThe sheet read on October 1, 2026 does list check_status, which reflects what Claude exposes today, while the undated repository table marks delivery reports as planned. Neither side is declared stale: test check_status on a real send and check the directory sheet on your own account before relying on it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Claude Infobip Message connector

01What can Claude do with the Infobip Message connector?
Claude can send a message over SMS, RCS, MMS or Viber and check how it is doing. The first tool pushes out text, an image or a link to a file in a single call, without you handling each channel's logic; the second reports delivery state. Infobip pitches it for simple notices: order confirmations, delivery updates, appointment reminders or one-off customer messages that you draft with Claude in the conversation.
02Can Claude send messages on my behalf?
Yes, that is exactly what the send tool does: it delivers a real message to a real recipient over one of the four covered channels. It does not schedule anything, handle bulk sends or go through WhatsApp or email, which Infobip keeps on other servers. No tool on the sheet deletes anything at all. The sheet pitches it for one-off notices such as order confirmations, delivery updates or appointment reminders, not for campaigns.
03Does Claude ask before sending a message?
By default, Claude asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account for you, and sending is one of them. No source describes a confirmation specific to the send tool, so this general rule is what covers it. On Team and Enterprise, owners decide whether members may let certain actions through without a prompt, and they can shut sending for the whole organization while keeping status checks open.
04Which plans is it available on?
No official source publishes plan availability for this connector, or for any other. The general rule is that remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise. You also need an Infobip account on your side. The Infobip Message sheet in the directory remains the only up-to-date reference for the Claude side, so check it from your account.
05Does Claude see my whole Infobip account?
Claude works with your access and nothing more: what your Infobip account does not allow, it cannot reach. The two listed tools are limited to sending a message and tracking its status; the sheet lists nothing else. Infobip itself asks for granular permission controls on message sending. A Team or Enterprise owner can also restrict what the connector may do for the whole organization, and individual members cannot lift that restriction.
06Do delivery reports actually work?
The sources disagree. The directory sheet, read on October 1, 2026, says delivery reports can be fetched and lists the check_status tool. The comparison table in Infobip's official repository, which carries no date, marks that feature as planned for the Message server. The sheet reflects what Claude exposes today, but nothing proves the report is complete: test check_status on a real send before you build any customer follow-up on it.
07Claude or an automation tool for Infobip Message?
They do different jobs. Claude sends a message when you ask, inside a conversation, and helps you word it. An automation tool is meant to fire off an SMS by itself, on every new order or the day before every appointment for instance, while you are elsewhere. The connector never starts anything on its own: no message leaves without a conversation in progress and an explicit request coming from you.
