Overview

What changes for a social media manager

No more switching between the Metricool planner and the analytics tab to decide when to post. You describe what you want in plain language, and Claude reads your metrics, checks your best slots and puts the post in the planner. Metricool says the connector covers your brands, your analytics, including connected ad accounts, and the Planner.

Schedule at the right moment. A launch post needs to go out on LinkedIn and Instagram: getBestTimeToPostByNetwork finds the strongest days and hours from your own history, then createScheduledPost places it across several brands and networks.

Fix a post already in the queue. The Saturday post is too long: getScheduledPosts lists what is queued, and updateScheduledPost adjusts its text, date or network.

Report without exporting. getAnalyticsAvailableMetrics shows what a network can report, and getAnalyticsDataByMetrics pulls the numbers, competitor data included.

What Claude will not do. Metricool lists what stays out: inbox messages, post comments, Smartlinks, Google Business Profile reviews, autolists, Canva or Drive files, and running ad campaigns. Nothing fires by itself either; Claude acts while you talk to it. Recurring flows are a job for automation, and a Make page for Metricool covers that use, next to the wider Integrations hub.

Vocabulary

Five words, one minute

The vocabulary you will see in Claude's settings.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can work in it while it answers you.
Tool
One named thing a connector lets Claude do on that account. Claude chooses the ones it needs; the directory sheet lists them by name.
Authorization
Metricool's own sign-in screen, where you give Claude the access it will use afterwards. Granted once per person, revocable the same way.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before it goes ahead with something that changes your account, shown in the chat when it matters.
MCP
The shared standard behind connectors: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service such as Metricool.
Connect

Connect Metricool to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Metricool

In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Metricool Social Media Management. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner enables it before members can connect their own account.

  2. 02

    Sign in to Metricool

Click Connect on its row and log in to Metricool in the window Metricool opens. If the link stops working one day, use Disconnect and connect it again.

  3. 03

    Read the authorization screen

Read the screen before confirming. It is Metricool's, not Claude's, and it defines what the access covers. You can take that access back later from your Metricool account.

Tools

The 7 tools, grouped by what they do

Metricool Social Media Management gives Claude 7 tools: 4 that read your account, 2 that change something in it, and 1 no official source describes.

Three groups: what Claude reads, what it changes, and the one tool no official source describes. Names stay in English, as Claude shows them.

What Claude reads (4)

4 tools

Four tools that look at your metrics, best times and planner without touching them.

getAnalyticsAvailableMetrics

Returns which metrics a given social network can report, so Claude knows what it can ask for before pulling any figures. It works network by network, one social network per request.

When it helps
you want to know which metrics a network reports before asking for figures.

getAnalyticsDataByMetrics

Brings back metrics from any connected network, competitor data included, so Claude can compare periods or accounts inside the conversation.

When it helps
you want to compare two periods, or your account with a competitor's, on the same metrics.
Watch out
the history you can reach depends on your Metricool subscription.

getBestTimeToPostByNetwork

Works out the best-performing days and hours for each network from your own past results. The recommendation comes from your own account data, network by network, and Metricool's FAQ adds that a new post can be scheduled straight onto that optimal time.

When it helps
you are hesitating between two posting slots on one network.

getScheduledPosts

Lists the posts sitting in your planner, already published ones included, so Claude can tell you what is coming and spot gaps in the calendar.

When it helps
you want to check that every day of the coming week has something planned.

What Claude changes (2)

2 tools

Two tools that act on your planner. No source describes a confirmation specific to them, so the general rule below applies.

createScheduledPost

Approval: see the rule

Puts a new post into your Metricool planner, across several brands and networks at once. Metricool's FAQ adds that a post can go out right away, at a set date and time, or at the best moment from your data.

What Claude asks for
no source describes a confirmation for this tool, so the general approval rule covers it.
When it helps
one announcement needs to reach TikTok, LinkedIn and Instagram tomorrow.

updateScheduledPost

Approval: see the rule

Adjusts a post already in the planner: its text, its date or the network it goes to. The post stays in the queue with the new details.

What Claude asks for
no confirmation specific to this tool is documented; the general rule of the approvals section applies.
When it helps
an event date moved and the posts announcing it must shift.

Not documented (1)

1 tool

The directory publishes this name and nothing else. No official text says what it does, and this page will not guess from the name.

getBrandSettings

This name appears in the directory's tool list, and that is all the public record holds. Metricool's help article does not describe it under any matching label, and no Claude page does either.

Watch out
whatever it does, the general approval rule applies to it.
Approvals

What Claude asks before acting

By default, Claude stops and asks before every action it takes on an account for you. The request appears in the conversation, at the moment it matters.

On Team and Enterprise, workspace owners decide whether members may let some actions through without being asked each time. They can also limit what a connector may do for the whole organization, keeping reads and closing writes for example, and nobody overrides that from a personal account. Claude works with your rights and nothing more: a brand your Metricool login cannot see stays out of its reach. The official per-tool label exists only in a connected account's settings.

Plans

Which plans include it

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows plan availability. Connector by connector, that information is not published anywhere.

The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, and on Team and Enterprise an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector before members can connect. Metricool's own subscription is another matter, covered in the limits below. For the current state on your Claude account, check the connector's sheet in the official directory.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you; nothing starts when a post goes live or a metric drops.

Only Metricool documents this connector: Claude's help center has no page for it, so the limits below are the publisher's. The tool list is an observed floor, not a promise. The directory's verification badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says on every sheet that it does not choose the tools a publisher exposes. One more trap: Metricool's marketing page lists tools under other names; Metricool adds that its list is updated alongside the server, with the latest version in its public GitHub repository.

FAQ

Questions about the Claude Metricool Social Media Management connector

01What can the Claude Metricool Social Media Management connector do?
Claude can plan and measure your social media through Metricool while you chat. The tools on the directory sheet schedule posts across brands and networks, edit a scheduled post's text, date or network, list queued posts, find the best time to post per network from your own data, list the metrics a network offers, and pull analytics including competitor data. One more tool, getBrandSettings, is listed without any public description.
02Can Claude publish or change posts in Metricool?
Yes, two documented tools act on your planner. One schedules a new post across several brands and networks, and Metricool says it can also go out right away. The other updates the text, date or network of a post already scheduled. No tool on the sheet deletes posts, and Metricool lists comments, inbox messages and ad campaign management as unavailable through the connector, so Claude does not touch those. Both work inside the Metricool planner.
03Does Claude ask before scheduling a post?
By default, Claude asks for confirmation before any action it carries out on an account for you. No source describes a confirmation specific to createScheduledPost or updateScheduledPost, so that default rule is what covers them. On Team and Enterprise, workspace owners decide whether members may let some actions pass without being asked each time, and they can close scheduling entirely for the organization while leaving analytics open. The confirmation, when it comes, appears in the chat.
04Which Claude plans is the Metricool connector available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets displays it. The general rule says remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner or Primary Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise. Metricool's own subscription limits still apply on its side. The connector's sheet in the directory shows the current state for your account.
05Does Claude see every brand in our Metricool account?
Claude works with your rights and nothing more, so it only reaches the brands and networks your Metricool login can manage. Metricool says the connector covers your brands, your analytics, including connected ad accounts, and the Planner. On Team and Enterprise, an owner can also narrow what the connector may do for everyone, and a member cannot lift that restriction from a personal account. Metricool adds that your Metricool plan limits still apply once you connect.
06Can Claude answer comments or messages through Metricool?
No. Metricool states that inbox messages and post comments are not available through the connector at the moment, along with Smartlinks, Google Business Profile reviews, autolists, Canva or Drive files and the Ads tab. Claude can read analytics, check best times, and schedule or edit posts, but community replies stay in the Metricool app. Metricool adds that its tool list is updated alongside the server, with the latest version kept in its public GitHub repository.
07Claude or an automation tool for Metricool?
They do different jobs, so choose by use. Claude with this connector helps in the moment: plan this week's posts, rewrite the Saturday one, compare last month's reach. An automation tool runs on its own, for example to push a new blog article into the planner every time it is published, which this connector never does by itself. For conversational planning and reporting, Claude fits; for recurring triggers, automation. This connector only acts while you talk to Claude.
