Overview

Your node infrastructure, one question away

Running blockchain apps on QuickNode means juggling endpoints across chains, watching logs, tuning rate limits and keeping an eye on the bill. The dashboard does all that, one screen at a time. With the connector, you ask Claude, it calls the right QuickNode tool and answers in the chat, and it asks you before any change goes through.

Diagnose a failing endpoint. Your Arbitrum app throws errors since lunch. list-endpoint-logs pulls the recent logs, get-endpoint-log-details opens the suspicious entry, and get-endpoint-metrics shows whether performance dipped at the same time.

Lock down an endpoint. Before a launch, you want JWT checks on the Ethereum mainnet endpoint. list-endpoint-security shows what is already on, then create-security-rule adds the rule once you confirm.

Keep spending in check. get-rpc-usage breaks usage down by endpoint, method or chain, and get-billing brings the invoices, so you can see which endpoint burns the most before the month closes.

Now the part the directory sheet leaves out. Every change needs the Admin role, chosen when you connect; with Viewer, Claude only reads. QuickNode's docs describe a tool for reading live blockchain data that is not among the 19 listed. And nothing runs on its own when an endpoint starts failing. For that kind of alerting, an automation tool fits, which is a different trade; the Integrations hub gathers that side.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary in one minute

Five words you'll meet while plugging QuickNode in.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can work on it while it answers you.
Tool
One named action a connector opens to Claude. Claude picks the ones it needs on its own; the directory sheet lists them by name.
Authorization
The service's own sign-in screen, where you hand Claude the access it will use. Given once per person, and you can take it back.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before it finishes something that changes your account, shown in the chat when it matters.
MCP
The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service such as QuickNode.
Connect

Plug QuickNode into Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find QuickNode in Claude

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for QuickNode in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable the connector first, then each member signs in.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on the QuickNode row, then sign in to QuickNode in the window QuickNode opens itself. If that link ever breaks later on, use Disconnect and plug it back in.

  3. 03

    Read the authorization screen

Read the authorization screen before you accept. It belongs to QuickNode, not to Claude, so QuickNode decides what the access covers. You can withdraw that access later from your QuickNode account too.

Tools

The 19 tools, sorted by what they do

QuickNode gives Claude 19 tools: 10 that read your account, 9 that change something in it.

Two groups: what Claude reads, available with both roles, and what it changes, which needs Admin and your confirmation. The names stay exactly as Claude shows them.

  • 9 write

What Claude reads (10)

10 tools

Ten tools that look into your account without changing it, available to both roles.

list-endpoints

Returns every endpoint on your QuickNode account, so Claude knows what exists before it digs further. It is often the first call behind a question.

When it helps
you inherited a project and want to know which chains and networks the team actually runs.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

get-endpoint

Opens the details of a single endpoint you name, instead of the whole list. Claude can then describe its setup in plain words.

When it helps
a developer asks which network the staging endpoint points to before deploying a contract.
Watch out
with several endpoints, mention the chain or the name so Claude picks the right one.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

list-endpoint-security

Shows the security settings and rules currently applied to an endpoint. You see what protects it before you decide on the next step.

When it helps
a security review asks for a summary of the protections on every production endpoint.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

list-endpoint-method-rate-limits

Lists the rate limits set for specific RPC methods on an endpoint. Claude tells you which calls are throttled and at what level.

When it helps
a front-end team hits limits on one method and wants to know whether a per-method cap is the cause.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

list-endpoint-logs

Fetches the recent logs of an endpoint. Claude reads through them and points out errors or patterns instead of making you scroll.

When it helps
QuickNode's own example is checking the last hour of logs on an Arbitrum endpoint after users report failures.
Watch out
this is the recent window only; for one entry in depth, Claude opens it with the log details tool.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

get-endpoint-log-details

Brings the full information of a single log entry picked out of the recent logs. That's where the specifics of one failed request live.

When it helps
one request keeps failing and the on-call engineer needs everything QuickNode recorded about it before escalating.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

get-endpoint-metrics

Retrieves the performance metrics of an endpoint, so Claude can tell you whether it slowed down and when.

When it helps
before an infrastructure review, you want to see whether an Ethereum endpoint slowed down recently, and on which days.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

get-rpc-usage

Reports your RPC usage, with an optional breakdown by endpoint, by method or by chain. Claude can then rank what consumes the most.

When it helps
a CTO wants to know which endpoint accounts for the most usage this month before the budget meeting.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

get-billing

Shows your billing invoices or your payment history on QuickNode. Claude can summarise what was charged and when.

When it helps
finance needs last quarter's QuickNode invoices for the accounts and nobody has dashboard access handy.
Watch out
Claude reads these figures but cannot change a plan or a payment method with any listed tool.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

list-chains

Lists all the chains QuickNode supports and the networks available on each. Useful to get the exact network name right before you plan anything.

When it helps
you want to know whether a testnet for a given chain is available before planning a deployment.

What Claude changes (9)

9 tools

Nine tools that modify your account. QuickNode says each one needs the Admin role and your explicit confirmation.

create-endpoint

Asks you first

Spins up a new endpoint on the chain and network you specify. Claude reports what was created once QuickNode confirms.

What Claude asks for
your explicit go-ahead before the endpoint is created, and it only works if you connected with the Admin role.
When it helps
a team starts a project on a new chain and needs its first endpoint on the right network.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

delete-endpoint

Asks you first

Removes an endpoint from your QuickNode account, once you've confirmed which one Claude picked.

What Claude asks for
a clear yes from you before the deletion runs, and an Admin connection; with Viewer the request is refused.
When it helps
cleaning up endpoints left over from a hackathon that nobody uses anymore.
Watch out
check the usage tool first, so you don't cut an endpoint that still serves traffic.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

update-endpoint-security-options

Asks you first

Turns endpoint security features on or off, such as CORS, HSTS or IP filtering. It changes how the endpoint accepts requests.

What Claude asks for
confirmation of the exact setting it is about to flip, with Admin rights behind the connection.
When it helps
you're moving an endpoint from testing to production and want IP filtering enabled.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

create-security-rule

Asks you first

Adds a security rule to an endpoint: an IP allowlist, JWT validation, a referrer restriction, a domain mask or an authentication token.

What Claude asks for
your approval of the rule and its type before it's added, from an Admin connection.
When it helps
QuickNode shows adding JWT authentication to an Ethereum mainnet endpoint before opening it to a partner.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

delete-security-rule

Asks you first

Deletes an existing security rule from an endpoint, whatever its type. The protection it provided disappears with it.

What Claude asks for
an explicit OK on which rule goes, and the Admin role on your connection.
When it helps
an office IP changed and the old allowlist entry now blocks your own team.
Watch out
list the current rules first, so the right one is removed.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

update-endpoint-rate-limits

Asks you first

Sets the overall rate limits of an endpoint, per second, per minute or per day. It caps how much traffic the endpoint accepts.

What Claude asks for
your confirmation of the new limits before they apply, which needs Admin.
When it helps
QuickNode's example sets a limit of 100 requests per second on a Polygon endpoint to protect a public app.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

create-endpoint-method-rate-limit

Asks you first

Adds a rate limit on one specific RPC method, leaving the other methods alone. Handy when a single call type gets hammered.

What Claude asks for
a go-ahead on the method and the limit before saving, from an Admin connection.
When it helps
a single feature floods the endpoint with one kind of read call, and only that method needs a cap.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

update-endpoint-method-rate-limit

Asks you first

Adjusts a method rate limit that already exists on an endpoint, up or down.

What Claude asks for
approval of the new value before the existing limit is overwritten; Viewer connections can't do it.
When it helps
a campaign doubles traffic for a week and the current cap on one method starts rejecting legitimate calls.

Sourcequicknode.com · August 24, 2026 ↗

delete-endpoint-method-rate-limit

Asks you first

Deletes a method rate limit from an endpoint, so that method falls back to the endpoint's overall limits.

What Claude asks for
your explicit confirmation of which limit to drop, with Admin behind the connection.
When it helps
a temporary cap set during an incident is no longer needed and slows down a batch job.

Approvals

What Claude asks before acting

By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before each action it carries out on an account for you. QuickNode goes further in its own docs: every write needs the Admin role and your explicit confirmation.

On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether a member can let some actions through without being asked every time. They can also restrict what a connector may do for the whole organization, for example keep reading open and close every write, and nobody overrides that from their account. Claude works with the QuickNode access you granted, nothing more: a teammate who connected as Viewer gets answers from the same account, never changes.

Plans

Which plans include it

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows availability by plan. The connector-by-connector answer is published nowhere: it is a real gap in the catalogue, not a miss in our research.

The general rule is public: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector for the organization before each member can sign in. For the current state of this one, check the QuickNode sheet in the official directory.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you: nothing starts when an endpoint errors out, a limit is hit or an invoice arrives.

Only QuickNode documents this connector; no Claude help page covers it. The directory badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says so on every sheet: it does not choose the tools a publisher exposes and does not guarantee they behave as announced. QuickNode's page and the directory sheet don't even list the same tools, as shown below. For comparison with another connector, see the Claude airtable connector.

Two official sources disagree

Can Claude read live blockchain data through the QuickNode connector?

  • Claude directory sheet ↗September 2026Nineteen account tools covering endpoints, security, limits, logs, usage, billing and chains; no tool for reading the chain itself.
  • QuickNode MCP documentation ↗August 2026Once connected, you can read live blockchain data, through a dedicated read-only tool.

What this page followsThe directory sheet, read in September 2026, is newer than QuickNode's page from August 2026, yet it doesn't list that tool. For Claude, the sheet's list is what counts: don't count on live chain reads until the tool shows up under your connector settings.

FAQ

Claude QuickNode connector: frequently asked questions

01What can Claude do with the QuickNode connector?
Claude can inspect and manage your QuickNode account from a conversation. Ten tools read: endpoints and their details, security settings, method rate limits, recent logs and single log entries, performance metrics, RPC usage, billing and supported chains. Nine tools change things: creating and deleting endpoints, switching security options, adding or removing security rules, and setting endpoint or method rate limits. Changes need the Admin role and your explicit confirmation, according to QuickNode.
02Can Claude create or delete endpoints in QuickNode?
Yes, if you connected with the Admin role. Nine of the nineteen tools modify your account: they create and delete endpoints, change security options, add and remove security rules, and set or remove rate limits. With the Viewer role, Claude only performs read operations, whatever you ask. QuickNode also documents tools for reading live chain data that are not on the directory sheet, so don't expect those in a conversation until they show up in your connector settings.
03Does Claude ask before it changes my QuickNode setup?
Yes. QuickNode's documentation says write operations, such as creating endpoints, modifying security settings or deleting resources, require the Admin role and your explicit confirmation before the assistant executes them. That matches Claude's default rule of asking before each action on an account. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners also decide whether members can let some actions through without being asked, and can close writing for everyone. That organization setting applies whatever role each person picked when signing in.
04Which Claude plans is the QuickNode connector available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets shows it. The general rule says remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector for the organization first, then each member signs in. The QuickNode sheet in the official directory is the only place that shows the current state for your account.
05Does Claude see every endpoint in our QuickNode account?
Claude works inside the QuickNode access you granted when you signed in, and nothing more. The role you pick at that step, Admin or Viewer, decides whether Claude can only read or can also change things. You can withdraw that access later from the QuickNode side as well. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an owner can further restrict what the connector may do for everyone, and a member cannot lift that restriction from their own account.
06Why does Claude refuse to change a rate limit on QuickNode?
Most likely because you connected with the Viewer role. QuickNode says a Viewer connection only allows read operations, while every tool that changes something, rate limits included, requires Admin. Disconnect, reconnect, and pick Admin on the QuickNode sign-in screen. If your organization uses Claude on a Team or Enterprise workspace, also check that an owner hasn't closed writing for this connector across the organization, because that setting wins over any role.
07Claude or an automation tool for QuickNode?
They don't do the same job, so it depends on the task. Claude works inside a conversation: you ask about logs or usage, or request a change, it confirms with you and acts, and nothing else happens once you stop typing. It never reacts on its own to an error spike or a limit being hit. For monitoring that runs in the background on an event, an automation tool is the fit. For investigation and one-off changes, the connector is the right choice.
