Overview

What it brings to a UI5 project

Published by the UI5 team, this server gives Claude access to UI5 material while it answers you: the API reference, development best practices, version information about the framework, and checks on your project. Two of its tools scaffold something new, a UI5 application from templates or a UI Integration Card.

Work from the framework's own references. get_guidelines gives access to UI5 development best practices, and the UI5 team recommends it to retrieve the latest coding standards; get_api_reference fetches and formats the API documentation.

Check a project. run_ui5_linter relies on @ui5/linter to analyze the code and report issues, and run_manifest_validation checks the manifest against the UI5 Manifest schema.

Start something new. create_ui5_app scaffolds an application from a set of templates and create_integration_card a UI Integration Card; get_integration_cards_guidelines covers the best practices for cards.

What it does not do: nothing runs without your request, since Claude calls these tools while it answers you, and no source describes a deployment or automatic fixes after linting. For chained tasks with nobody at the keyboard, the Integrations hub gathers those other ways of working.

Vocabulary

Page lexicon

Five markers before getting into the details.

Connector
The lasting hook-up between Claude and software you use every day, which Claude then draws on while it answers you.
Tool
A capability labelled by name, which Claude calls on its own initiative when your question warrants it.
Local execution
This server runs on your machine, launched by Claude Desktop: it reads and produces files at your place, not in a cloud.
Approval
The sign-off Claude asks you for during the exchange before it completes an action that changes your project.
MCP
The shared standard that lets Claude talk to external programs, and that every connector is built on.
Connect

Connecting SAPUI5 to Claude

  1. 01

    Find SAPUI5

In Claude Desktop, open settings, then Customize and Connectors. The directory offers SAPUI5 for the desktop app only, since the server runs on your own computer.

  2. 02

    Start the setup

Click Connect next to its name. For a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to approve the connector for the organization before anyone can add it.

  3. 03

    Read before accepting

If an authorization screen comes up, take the time to read it: it sets how far the access reaches. To fix a broken link, use Disconnect and then reconnect.

Tools

The 10 tools in the Claude SAPUI5 connector

SAPUI5 MCP Server gives Claude 10 tools: 8 that read your account, 2 that change something in it.

Two groups: what consults or analyzes, and what creates files. Names are shown exactly as Claude lists them.

What Claude consults or analyzes (8)

8 tools

Docs, project information and checks, producing nothing.

get_guidelines

Gives access to UI5 development best practices. The UI5 team points to this tool as the way to retrieve the latest coding standards for UI5 development.

When it helps
you want UI5 code discussed against the framework's current recommendations rather than against general habits.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

run_ui5_linter

Puts your code through @ui5/linter, which it integrates, and reports the issues it finds.

When it helps
you want a list of the problems the UI5 linter detects in a project before deciding what to do about them.
Watch out
no source says the tool fixes what it finds; it hands back a report.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_api_reference

Fetches UI5 API documentation and formats it, so the answer rests on the official reference rather than on recollection.

When it helps
you need the documented properties, methods or events of a UI5 control or class, as the official API reference states them.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_project_info

Extracts metadata and configuration from a UI5 project, giving Claude a description of the project it is asked about.

When it helps
you want a summary of how an existing UI5 project is configured before asking Claude questions about its set-up.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

get_version_info

Retrieves version information for the UI5 framework, the framework itself rather than any one project, as the UI5 team describes it.

When it helps
you need to know which UI5 versions exist before choosing or checking the one a given project relies on.

get_integration_cards_guidelines

Card-specific advice: opens the best practices for developing UI Integration Cards, kept apart from the general UI5 guidelines.

When it helps
you are about to build or review a UI Integration Card and want the recommendations that apply to cards.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

run_manifest_validation

Validates your app's manifest against the UI5 Manifest schema and reports what does not match.

When it helps
you want to know whether a manifest conforms to the schema before relying on it, and which of its entries the validation flags.

get_typescript_conversion_guidelines

Hands over the UI5 team's guidance for the conversion of UI5 applications, and of controls too, from JavaScript to TypeScript.

When it helps
a JavaScript UI5 codebase is being considered for TypeScript and you want the conversion approach the UI5 team documents for applications and for controls.

What Claude creates (2)

2 tools

Two scaffolding tools that lay down new files. No dedicated confirmation is documented.

create_ui5_app

Approval: see the rule

Creates the starting structure of a UI5 application, picked from a set of templates provided by the UI5 team.

What Claude asks for
no source documents a dedicated confirmation; the general rule for approvals applies.
When it helps
a new UI5 application has to be started and you prefer a template to an empty folder.

Sourcegithub.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

create_integration_card

Approval: see the rule

Lays down a new UI Integration Card, the card format UI5 documents separately from full applications.

What Claude asks for
the UI5 team describes no confirmation, so the general rule below applies.
When it helps
a project needs a new UI Integration Card and you want its starting structure generated rather than typed by hand.

Approvals

The go-ahead Claude needs before creating

Starting rule: before an action it takes for you, Claude pauses and waits for your sign-off in the conversation.

No source specifies a confirmation for SAPUI5's two creation tools, so that starting rule is what governs them. Owners of a Team or Enterprise workspace decide whether a member may let some actions through without a new prompt, and they can restrict the connector for everyone, for example keeping the checks and cutting creation. Claude never holds more rights than you do over your machine and your projects.

Plans

Plans and availability

The official directory lists 819 sheets and none publishes plan availability. For SAPUI5, that information therefore exists nowhere.

The general rule is documented, though. A desktop extension like this one is installed on Claude Desktop; remote connectors, for their part, reach every user on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector before members can. SAPUI5's current status is shown on its directory sheet.

Limits

Where SAPUI5 stops

No automation: these tools only run while Claude answers something you asked it to do.

The 10 tools on the sheet are what you can see, not a guaranteed boundary; an administrator can open others. The partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says so on every sheet: it does not choose a publisher's tools and does not guarantee their behaviour. The only documentation comes from the UI5 team, in the server repository; neither Claude's help center nor Anthropic's docs cover it. Other ways to link your tools are on Integrations.

FAQ

Claude SAPUI5 connector FAQ

01What can Claude do with the Claude SAPUI5 connector?
Claude can lean on UI5's official rules and documentation while it helps you build. It reads general best practices, integration card guidance and TypeScript conversion guidance, consults the API reference and framework versions, and extracts your project's configuration. It runs your code through the UI5 linter, validates your manifest, and can scaffold a new app or an integration card from templates, so you are not starting from an empty folder.
02Does SAPUI5 let Claude create files in my project?
Yes for creation: two tools lay down new files, one scaffolding a UI5 application from templates, the other a UI Integration Card. The other eight consult or analyze. The linter and manifest validation return a report, and no source describes automatic fixes to your code. That is a floor, not a guarantee: a public tool list is what can be observed, and an administrator can open capabilities that appear on no public sheet.
03Does Claude ask before scaffolding a SAPUI5 app?
No source describes a confirmation specific to SAPUI5's creation tools, so Claude's default rule applies. That rule has Claude stop and wait for your go-ahead before every action it takes for you. In a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without a new prompt, and they can cut creation for the whole organization while keeping the checks running for everyone in the workspace.
04Which plans is SAPUI5 available on?
No official source publishes the plans for a given connector, and no directory sheet shows them. The published general rule says desktop extensions install on Claude Desktop, while remote connectors are open to all users of Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable it before anyone else. For the current status, check the SAPUI5 sheet in the directory from your own account.
05Does Claude see all my projects through SAPUI5?
No, Claude works with your rights and within the listed tools. It reads information about the project you point it to, lints that project's code and validates its manifest; no source describes broader access to your disk. Everything else it consults is UI5's public documentation and guidelines. At the organization level, a Team or Enterprise owner can also restrict the connector for every member of the workspace, and nobody lifts that alone.
06Does the SAPUI5 linter fix my code on its own?
Not according to the available sources. The UI5 team describes the tool as an integration with @ui5/linter that analyzes the code and reports issues, with no mention of fixing anything. The same goes for manifest validation, which checks your file against the UI5 Manifest schema. Whatever is changed afterwards in the code goes through a separate request on your side, not through these two tools, which the sources only describe as checks.
07Claude or an automation tool for SAPUI5?
They do not serve the same purpose, so let the use case decide. With this connector, Claude assists you while you develop: you ask a question or request a check, it calls the right tool and answers in the conversation. An automation tool runs steps with nobody involved, off a trigger. No SAPUI5 tool fires on its own, so a lint run or a new scaffold always starts from a request of yours.
