Claude Seismic connectorWhat Claude can do in your Seismic account.

The Claude Seismic connector exposes 3 tools. 2 search your Seismic content, 1 generates a LiveSend sharing link. You will see what Claude can find, what it can share, what a Seismic administrator has to enable, and what the published connector leaves out.

Overview

What changes for a sales team

Seismic describes its connector as secure authentication and scoped access to Seismic, so that Claude can give accurate, context-aware responses grounded in approved content and tools. The published version exposes a curated subset of tools: generative search across your Seismic content, and the generation of LiveSend links.

Find content. generative_search_for_retrieving_contents returns the content most relevant to a query, ranked by relevance score, without generating an answer. A setting restricts results to externally shareable content.

Get a sourced answer. generative_search_for_answer_or_summary generates a natural-language answer to your question and returns the supporting Seismic sources it used.

Share and keep track. generate_livesend_link generates a LiveSend link from the content provided, with configurable settings, for controlled sharing and engagement tracking.

Two pieces on Seismic's side. The connector in Claude is not enough: Seismic also asks for its matching app from Seismic Exchange, enabled in your tenant.

What it does not do: Seismic says the published connector is limited to this curated subset, fixed at publish time. Nothing goes out on its own either, and no link is created unless you ask for one. For sends chained with no conversation, that is a separate trade, covered on the Integrations hub.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary in one minute

Five terms to know before connecting Seismic.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and your Seismic account, so it can work there while answering you.
Tool
A named action the connector opens to Claude. It picks the ones it needs; the directory sheet lists them by name.
Authorization
Seismic's sign-in screen, where you hand Claude the access it will use. Granted once per person, revocable later.
LiveSend
Seismic's sharing link: it opens selected content and lets you track the engagement of whoever opens it.
MCP
The shared standard behind connectors; it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service.
Connect

Connect Seismic to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Seismic in Claude

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Seismic. In a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable the connector before each member can sign in.

  2. 02

    Start the connection

Click Connect on its row, then sign in with your Seismic account in the window Seismic opens itself. If the link ever breaks, Disconnect and connect again.

  3. 03

    Read the authorization screen

Read the authorization screen before accepting: it belongs to Seismic, not Claude, and it sets what the access covers. You can also withdraw access later on Seismic's side.

Tools

The 3 tools in the Claude Seismic connector

Seismic gives Claude 3 tools: 2 that read your account, 1 that change something in it.

Two groups: what Claude reads and what it generates. Names stay exactly as Claude displays them.

  • 2 read
  • 1 write

What Claude reads (2)

2 tools

Two searches across the Seismic content you can access.

generative_search_for_retrieving_contents

Searches Seismic for the content most relevant to your query and returns it ranked by relevance score, without generating an answer. A setting restricts the results to externally shareable content only.

When it helps
you need to locate existing Seismic content on a topic, possibly limited to what can be shared outside.

generative_search_for_answer_or_summary

Produces a natural-language answer to your question and returns the Seismic sources it relied on, so each answer can be checked against the content behind it.

When it helps
you need an answer drawn from your organization's Seismic content, with the sources that support it.

What Claude generates (1)

1 tool

One tool that produces a tracked sharing link. No source describes its confirmation.

Approvals

What Claude asks before it acts

By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before each action it takes on an account for you, at the moment it matters.

No source describes a confirmation specific to generating a LiveSend link, so that default rule covers it. In a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without a repeat prompt, and they can cap the connector for the whole organization, for example search open and link generation closed. On Seismic's side, a tenant administrator enables tool access for the app. Claude never has more rights than you in Seismic.

Plans

Which plans include it

Of the 819 sheets in the official directory, none shows plan availability. For Seismic, that answer is published nowhere.

The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector before each member can connect. On Seismic's side, the tenant needs MCP enabled. For the current status on Claude's side, check Seismic's sheet in the official directory.

Limits

Where Seismic stops

A connector is not an automation: Claude calls these tools while answering you, and no link goes out by itself.

The tool list is an observed floor, not a promise: Seismic calls the published tools a curated subset, fixed at publish time. The partner badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says so on every sheet: it does not pick a publisher's tools and does not guarantee their behaviour. Only Seismic documents this connector; Claude's help center does not cover it. Other ways to link your tools are on Integrations.

FAQ

Claude Seismic connector FAQ

01What can Claude do with the Claude Seismic connector?
Claude can search the Seismic content you have access to and generate a sharing link. One tool returns the content most relevant to a query, ranked by relevance score; another generates a natural-language answer to your question and returns the Seismic sources behind it. The third creates a LiveSend link from the content provided, with configurable settings and engagement tracking, each call starting from a request you make in the conversation.
02Can Claude send Seismic content on my behalf?
It can generate a LiveSend link, yes: that is the only tool in the published connector that produces something. The link bundles the content you specify, with sharing settings and engagement tracking. No source describes Claude sending an email; the link is meant for controlled sharing, and passing it on is up to you. The other two tools only search and answer from your content. Each link starts from a request you make.
03Does Claude ask before generating a LiveSend link?
By default, yes: Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before every action it takes on an account for you. No source describes a confirmation specific to generating a LiveSend link, so that default rule covers it. In a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without a repeat prompt, and they can close that action for the whole organization. No source changes that for this connector.
04Which plans is the Seismic connector available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and no directory sheet shows it. The general rule is that remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise. On Seismic's side, the tenant needs MCP enabled, and Seismic points to your customer success manager if it is not. The directory sheet remains the only place showing the current status for your account.
05Does Claude see all the content in our Seismic tenant?
No, Claude works with your rights and nothing more. Seismic describes scoped access and answers grounded in approved content and tools. A Seismic tenant administrator separately enables tool access for the app, and the published connector only carries generative search and LiveSend link generation. On Claude's side, a Team or Enterprise owner can also restrict the connector for everyone in the workspace, and nobody lifts that setting from their own account.
06Why does Claude say it is connected to Seismic but find no tools?
Seismic names a missing step on its side as the usual cause. According to its documentation, the published connector needs two pieces: the connector installed in Claude, and the matching app installed from Seismic Exchange and then enabled in your tenant's system settings. Seismic says that this enablement is usually the missing step when the connector reports being connected but exposes no tools. MCP also has to be enabled for your tenant.
07Claude or an automation tool for Seismic?
They do different jobs, so the use case decides. Claude with this connector works in the conversation: it searches your Seismic content, answers with sources and generates a LiveSend link when you ask. An automation tool chains steps with nobody involved, off a trigger. Nothing in this connector goes out on its own, and no link is created without a request, so any sequence meant to run unattended belongs to that other family of tools.
