Overview

What changes for learning in the flow of work

Instead of opening Udemy Business and filtering the catalog by hand, you describe to Claude what you want to learn. It searches your organization's catalog and answers with matching content, down to a course's full outline when you want to check it before enrolling.

Find the course that fits. search_courses works through Udemy's catalog of online courses. Udemy frames it as the way in for professional development and personal growth alike.

Jump to the right lecture. search_lectures searches by meaning inside courses, so you land on the segment that covers one concept rather than a whole course.

Size up a course first. get_course_curriculum returns a course's full, ordered outline, sections and items included. Claude has to fetch the course ID through search beforehand.

Two more tools cover hands-on labs and guided learning paths. What Claude does not do with the public sheet: enroll anyone, build a path or track progress. Udemy describes write tools, but they are not on the directory sheet. Nothing runs on its own either, so no alert when a new course lands. That kind of watching is a job for an automation tool, a different trade; Integrations gathers that side.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary in one minute

Five words you will meet while connecting Udemy Business.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so it can work there while it answers you.
Tool
A named action the connector opens to Claude. Claude picks the ones it needs by itself, and the directory sheet lists them.
Authorization
Udemy Business's own sign-in screen, where you give Claude your consent. Granted once, and you can take it back later.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before an action that changes an account, shown in the chat when it matters.
MCP
The shared standard behind connectors: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service.
Connect

Connect the Claude Udemy Business connector

  1. 01

    Find Udemy Business

In Claude's settings, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for Udemy Business. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable it for the organization first.

  2. 02

    Sign in to Udemy

Click Connect on its row. Udemy opens its own window: depending on your organization, you sign in with SSO or with email and password. If something breaks, Disconnect and connect again.

  3. 03

    Accept the consent screen

If an authorization screen appears, read it before you accept: the service, not Claude, decides what the access covers, and you can withdraw that access later on.

search_courses

Searches Udemy's catalog of online courses, for career development as much as for personal growth.

When it helps
spotting the catalog courses that cover a given skill.
Watch out
it is also the required first step before Claude can open a course's detailed outline.

Sourcebusiness-support.udemy.com · September 12, 2026 ↗

search_learning_paths

Looks through the learning paths Udemy curates, which string several pieces of content together in a progressive order to master a skill or topic.

When it helps
when you want an ordered progression through a topic rather than courses picked one by one.
Watch out
Udemy keeps it for one specific tier of its offer; elsewhere it will not answer.

search_lectures

Runs a meaning-based search across lectures, so you can isolate one topic, concept or piece of material inside a course instead of the whole thing.

When it helps
finding the lecture that covers one precise concept rather than a whole course.

Sourcebusiness-support.udemy.com · September 12, 2026 ↗

search_labs

Browses Udemy's catalog of labs, the practical, interactive exercises where you work hands-on instead of watching.

When it helps
finding a hands-on exercise on a given topic.
Watch out
as with learning paths, Udemy limits labs to one specific tier of its offer.

get_course_curriculum

Returns a course's complete outline in order: its sections and the items inside each one. Enough to judge what a course covers before committing to it.

When it helps
checking what a course found through search covers, section by section.
Watch out
Claude needs the course ID, which it gets first from the course search.

Approvals

What Claude asks before it acts

By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before every action it takes on an account for you. The request appears in the chat at the moment it applies.

By default, the Udemy Business sheet exposes lookups only: none of the five tools touches your account. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without being asked again, and they can cap what the connector does for the whole organization. Nobody overrides that from their own account, and Claude only sees what your Udemy permissions already show you.

Plans

Which plans it is available on

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows its plan availability. That answer, connector by connector, is not published anywhere.

The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, and desktop extensions install on Claude Desktop. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner switches the connector on for the organization before members connect. Udemy adds conditions of its own, covered below. The current state is on the connector's sheet in the directory.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation: Claude calls these tools while it answers you, and nothing fires on its own. Only Udemy documents this connector, in its help article.

The tool list is an observed floor: an admin can open actions missing from every public sheet, and Udemy itself announces tools the sheet does not show yet. The directory badge is not a security audit, and Anthropic says so on every sheet: it does not choose a publisher's tools and does not vouch for how they behave. Connect what comes from a publisher you know. For follow-ups that run without you, the automation tools are gathered under Integrations.

Two official sources disagree

Which Claude plans can use this connector?

What this page followsThe two texts are not about the same thing: Udemy gives an example, Anthropic a rule for every connector. Neither settles it for your account: check the directory sheet on your account.

FAQ

Claude Udemy Business connector: common questions

01What can Claude do with the Claude Udemy Business connector?
Claude can search your organization's Udemy Business catalog from the chat. Its five tools look for courses, lectures inside courses, hands-on labs and guided learning paths, and return a course's detailed outline. Everything the sheet publishes is lookup work, and no tool changes your account. Labs and learning paths depend on a particular Udemy tier, which your admin can confirm, and the add-on described below is required in every case.
02Can Claude enroll someone or build a learning path?
Not with the tools on the directory sheet, which only look things up. Udemy does describe two write tools, one that creates a learning path and one that creates a role-play scenario, but neither is on the sheet as of October 1, 2026. No source describes enrollment. And a sheet that only shows reading remains a floor: an admin can open more than it lists, so treat the sheet as a minimum.
03Does Claude ask before it acts?
By default, yes: Claude asks for confirmation before every action it takes on an account for you. The five published tools only read, so the question rarely comes up here. No source describes a confirmation specific to this connector, so the general rule applies. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether members can let some actions through without a prompt, and they can shut writing off entirely for everyone.
04Which plans is it available on?
No official source publishes plan availability connector by connector, and no directory sheet displays it. The general rule opens remote connectors to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise. Udemy's article names a Claude offer among its examples, which the limits section sets against that rule. For the current state, check the directory sheet for your account, which is updated as things change.
05Does Claude see my organization's whole catalog?
It sees what your Udemy Business account shows you and nothing beyond: Claude works with the connected person's permissions. Labs and learning paths, however, only answer when your organization holds the Udemy tier that includes them, which your admin can confirm. And without the AI Connectors add-on, no tool works at all, whatever your role in the company happens to be. On Claude's side, an Owner first adds the connector to the organization, then each member connects from their own settings.
06Why doesn't the connector work for our team?
The most direct cause, according to Udemy, is a missing AI Connectors add-on: every tool depends on it, on top of the tier your organization bought from Udemy. Udemy also requires a specific Udemy Business tier on top of the add-on. On Claude's side, an Owner must also have added the connector to the organization. And a recently added tool only appears after a refresh or reconnection. Signing in then goes through your Udemy Business account, by SSO or by email and password depending on your organization.
07Claude or an automation tool for Udemy Business?
They do different jobs, so it depends on the use. The connector suits a question asked in a chat: which course to take, which lecture explains a concept, what an outline contains. It starts nothing on its own and does not watch for new content. An automation tool runs steps without you, starting from an event. The two complement each other more than they replace one another, and nothing stops a team from using both.
