What you can automate

What can the Clicfans Make integration do for you?

The Clicfans Make integration lets a Make scenario, meaning the automation you build in Make as a chain of bricks called modules, write into Clicfans for you. It creates or updates contacts, puts tags on them, adds them to a workflow and reads your lists, all with no code.

New leads that arrive already sorted. A form tool or a spreadsheet hands over a person, Create a Contact saves them in Clicfans, and Add a Tag to a Contact labels them by source so your segments stay clean.

Contacts that enter the right sequence. Once someone buys or books a call in another app, Add a Workflow to a Contact places them in a workflow you already set up in Clicfans, and List Workflows helps you pick the right one.

Records that stay current. When an email or a name changes elsewhere, Get a Contact reads the existing record and Update a Contact corrects it instead of creating a duplicate.

Know the limits before you start. Clicfans has no trigger in Make, so a scenario starts from another app or from the Make schedule. Make also notes that its documentation for Clicfans is limited, because little public information exists about the app. For anything the listed modules skip, Make an API Call reuses your connection. The same app often has an n8n node too; the n8n vs Make page sets the two tools side by side, and our Make review covers the editor in depth.

Connect

How do you connect Clicfans to Make?

  1. 01

    Open a Clicfans module

In your scenario, add any Clicfans module, for example Create a Contact, then click Create a connection. A connection is your Clicfans account linked to Make once and reused by every Clicfans module.

  2. 02

    Name it if you like

Make offers an optional name for the connection. A clear label, such as the account or the brand it belongs to, saves guesswork later if your team links more than one Clicfans account.

  3. 03

    Authorize and save

Either approve Make on the Clicfans page that opens, or paste the key Clicfans gives you, depending on what the window asks for. Then click Save and the module is ready to fill.

First scenario

Build your first scenario with Clicfans

GoalWhen a new lead reaches another app, Make creates the contact in Clicfans and tags it by source.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

On the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the +. The first module comes from the app that receives your leads, such as a form tool, because Clicfans has no trigger.

  2. 02

    Add Create a Contact

Click the + to the right of the first module, search for Clicfans and pick Create a Contact. Link your account with Create a connection if this is your first Clicfans module.

  3. 03

    Map the lead data

Fill the fields by dragging values from the first module. Each lead travels as a bundle, one item passed from module to module, so every new person becomes one Clicfans contact.

  4. 04

    Tag the new contact

Add Add a Tag to a Contact after it and map the contact returned by Create a Contact. Choose a tag that names the source, so you can find these leads later.

  5. 05

    Test with Run once

Click Run once to execute the scenario a single time. Open the bubble above each module to read the bundles it received and check that the contact and its tag appear in Clicfans.

  6. 06

    Schedule and switch on

Set the schedule on the first module, every 15 minutes by default, then switch the scenario on. Each module run on one bundle counts as one operation on your Make plan.

Modules

Every Clicfans module in Make, explained

Clicfans gives you 9 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Clicfans1

Add a Tag to a Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Puts a label on an existing Clicfans contact, so you can sort and segment people by where they came from or what they did.

When to use it
right after a contact is created or found, to mark the lead source or a purchase made in another tool.
Watch out
this module needs a contact that already exists, so place it after Create a Contact or Get a Contact and map that result.
Clicfans2

Add a Workflow to a Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Enrolls a contact in one of the workflows you have already prepared in Clicfans, so the follow up you designed there starts for that person.

When to use it
a customer books a demo or pays in another app and should move into a specific Clicfans sequence.
Watch out
the workflow must exist in Clicfans first; run List Workflows once if you are unsure which one to pick.
Clicfans3

Create a Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Adds a new person to your Clicfans contacts from data that arrives in the scenario, with no manual entry on your side.

When to use it
every time a form, a shop or a spreadsheet brings in someone who is not yet in Clicfans.
Watch out
as its name says, it creates a record; Make documents no duplicate check. If the same person may come back, search first with List Contacts and send known people to Update a Contact.
Clicfans4

Get a Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Reads a single Clicfans contact you can already identify and passes its details to the next modules in the scenario.

When to use it
you hold a contact reference from an earlier step and need its current data before deciding what to do next.
Watch out
it returns one specific contact. To look for people when you do not know the exact record, List Contacts is the better fit.
Clicfans5

List Contacts

SearchIn the docs only

Returns your Clicfans contacts as separate bundles, which lets you check, export or process them one by one in the modules that follow.

When to use it
before creating a contact, to see whether that person is already there, or to copy your audience into another tool.
Watch out
a search can return zero, one or many bundles, and every later module runs once per bundle, which adds operations.
Clicfans6

List Tags

SearchIn the docs only

Pulls the tags that exist in your Clicfans account, so the scenario can work with real tag values instead of names typed from memory.

When to use it
while building, to confirm the exact tag before you set up Add a Tag to a Contact.
Watch out
each tag comes out as its own bundle, so add a filter if only one of them should continue.
Clicfans7

List Workflows

SearchIn the docs only

Shows the workflows available in Clicfans as bundles, which makes it easy to see what you can enroll a contact into.

When to use it
when you set up Add a Workflow to a Contact and want to check which workflows exist before choosing.
Watch out
like every search, it may return several bundles, and the modules placed after it will run for each one of them.
Clicfans8

Make an API Call

ActionIn the docs only

Calls any endpoint of the Clicfans API from your scenario with the connection you already set up, which covers what the eight other modules leave out.

When to use it
you need a Clicfans action that has no ready module in Make.
Watch out
you have to know the endpoint yourself, and Make warns that public information about Clicfans is scarce, so test with Run once.
Clicfans9

Update a Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Changes the details of a contact that already exists in Clicfans, so the record matches what your other tools know about that person.

When to use it
someone edits their email in your shop or CRM and Clicfans should follow without a manual fix.
Watch out
the module needs to know which contact to change, so find it first with Get a Contact or List Contacts.

FAQ

Clicfans and Make: common questions

01Is the Clicfans Make integration free?
Yes, Clicfans is a standard app in Make, so you can use it on the Free plan. That plan allows 2 active scenarios, a minimum of 15 minutes between two scheduled runs, runs of 5 minutes at most, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) lower the interval to 1 minute, remove the cap on active scenarios and allow 40 minutes of execution. Usage is counted in operations, one for each module run on one bundle. Any cost on the Clicfans side is separate and not covered here.
02What do you need to connect Clicfans to Make?
You need a Clicfans account and a Make account. Make does not list any other prerequisite for this app. Add a Clicfans module, click Create a connection, give the connection a name if you want, then either authorize Make on the Clicfans page or paste the key that Clicfans provides, and click Save. Make also points out that its Clicfans documentation is limited, so follow what the connection window asks for, approval or key, since no other step is documented.
03Does Clicfans trigger a Make scenario in real time?
No, Clicfans has no trigger module in Make, so it cannot start a scenario by itself. You start the scenario another way: with a trigger from a different app, such as a form tool or a shop, or with the Make schedule on the first module, which runs every 15 minutes by default. On the Free plan the shortest interval is 15 minutes; paid plans go down to 1 minute. The Clicfans modules then do their work in the steps that follow.
04What if a Clicfans module is missing in Make?
Use Make an API Call. It reaches any endpoint of the Clicfans API from the scenario with the same connection, so you are not limited to the 9 listed modules. You will need to know which endpoint to call, and Make states that little public information about Clicfans exists, which is why its own documentation for the app stays short. Test every call with Run once before switching the scenario on. If the API does not offer what you need, another app may be a better fit for that step.
05Should you use Make or n8n for Clicfans?
It depends on the tool your team already runs. In Make, Clicfans comes with 9 modules for contacts, tags and workflows, plus Make an API Call for the rest, and it works on the Free plan. The same app often has an n8n node as well, so check whether Clicfans is available there before you decide. Pick the platform where your other scenarios already live, so your connections and your habits stay in one place, and compare the modules each side offers for the exact steps you plan.
