7Targets Zapier integrationAutomate 7Targets with Zapier.
The 7Targets Zapier integration does one job: it puts a lead in front of your AI sales assistant. Zapier lists 0 triggers, 1 action and 0 searches for it, so the lead always comes from another app and 7Targets takes over the follow-up.

What the 7Targets Zapier integration actually does
Put simply, it lets Zapier add a person to 7Targets and give that person to one of your AI sales assistants, the virtual rep that writes to leads and nudges them toward a meeting. Zapier is the go-between: something happens in another app, and the lead shows up in 7Targets without anyone typing it in.
Three outcomes cover most uses. A webinar list that follows itself up: each new registrant goes through Assign Lead to Assistant, and the assistant opens the conversation by first name. Trade-show badges that stop rotting in a spreadsheet: a row added after the event becomes a lead handled by the assistant you dedicate to events. Inbound demo requests split by product line: two Zaps, each pointing at a different assistant email, so each assistant keeps its own tone.
Now the limits. Zapier can only push leads in. It cannot tell you when 7Targets books a meeting, when a lead replies or when an assistant stops writing, because the app exposes no trigger. It cannot look up an existing lead either, since there is no search. If your plan relies on reacting to what the assistant does, this connector will not carry it.
If you are weighing other platforms, the Make vs Zapier and n8n vs Zapier comparisons set the criteria side by side.
Zapier words, in plain English
Seven terms come back on this page. Here they are once, so the rest reads easily.
- Zap
- An automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. 7Targets has none, so another app plays that role.
- Action
- The step that does the work once the Zap has started: it writes, sends or moves something. Here, it hands a lead to an assistant.
- Task
- What Zapier bills you for: one action that completes successfully. The number on your plan counts those, nothing else.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer for new items. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived matches a condition you set, and stops it there otherwise.
- Connection
- Your 7Targets account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that talks to 7Targets.
What a 7Targets Zap really costs
7Targets is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. The bill comes from tasks, and the trigger never costs one.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
- Free plan shapeTwo steps only: one trigger, one action
- Premium appNo, 7Targets runs on the free plan
- BilledEach successful action, never the trigger
Each lead that Assign Lead to Assistant adds successfully counts as one task. A failed attempt is not counted. Checking the trigger app for new items is free too, however often Zapier looks. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but only two steps per Zap: one trigger, one action. Add a filter (say, to skip leads without a company email) and the Zap becomes multi-step, which means a paid plan.
Connect 7Targets to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box where every supported app can be found by name.
- 02
Pick 7Targets
Type 7Targets in that box, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the 7Targets side, where you sign in with the account that owns your assistants.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to use the account. The connection is then saved once and reused by every Zap that touches 7Targets. If a colleague owns the assistants, you need write access to them first.
Your first Zap: webinar sign-ups to an AI assistant
GoalEvery new webinar registrant with a work address is assigned to the 7Targets assistant in charge of event follow-up.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap and pick your webinar tool as the app that starts it, with its new-registrant event. 7Targets cannot start a Zap, so the trigger always lives elsewhere.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent registrants of the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real person rather than an empty form.
- 03
Add the filter
Add a filter step that keeps only work addresses. This makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan. On the free plan, drop the filter and keep two steps.
- 04
Add the 7Targets action
Choose
Assign Lead to Assistant, map the registrant first name and email, then paste the address of the assistant that handles events. - 05
Test, then publish
Test the action once and check that the lead now appears with the right assistant in 7Targets. Then click Publish to switch the Zap on.
The 7Targets action
7Targets gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

When a 7Targets Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to 7Targets, so the failures below are the general ones, and they bite here like anywhere else.
Most broken Zaps come from four situations. None of them is specific to 7Targets, but each one can flood an assistant or leave leads behind. When a run looks wrong, the Zapier troubleshooting guide walks through the checks in order.
Old leads are never sent
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Leads collected the week before stay where they are, and moving that backlog is a separate job.The Zap feeds itself
If the Zap writes into the very place its own trigger watches, it fires again and again, assigns duplicates to the assistant and burns your tasks fast.A bulk import gets held back
When the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can pause it before any lead reaches 7Targets.The same lead twice? Not from polling
On a polling trigger Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so one item does not start the Zap twice. Duplicates usually come from the source itself.
