Addressfinder Zapier integrationAutomate Addressfinder with Zapier.

The Addressfinder Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers, 4 actions and 0 searches. Everything it does is a check: an address in Australia or New Zealand, an email, a phone number. Another app has to start the Zap, then Addressfinder cleans what it sent.

Overview

What Addressfinder does inside a Zap

Connecting Addressfinder to Zapier means one thing: contact data gets checked on its way through, without anyone copying it into a validation tool by hand. Zapier is the service that links apps together, and Addressfinder sits in the middle of the chain as a checkpoint. It never starts anything on its own, because it has no trigger in Zapier.

Three results show up again and again once it is wired in.

A cleaner mailing list. A webinar sign-up lands in your form tool, Verify Email Address checks it, and only then does the contact move on to your newsletter app. A typo gets caught at the door, before the first newsletter goes out to an address that does not work.

Delivery addresses you can trust. An online shop shipping in New Zealand passes each new order through Verify Address NZ. For Australian customers, Verify Address AU does the same job against the GNAF database (physical addresses), the PAF database (postal addresses), or both.

Phone numbers your sales team can actually dial. A recruiting agency that takes candidate numbers from a careers page runs them through Verify Phone Number, with a default country for numbers typed without their calling code, and can insist on mobiles only.

What Zapier does not do here: it cannot watch Addressfinder for anything, so there is no way to start a Zap from it. It does not search Addressfinder either, and it covers address checks for Australia and New Zealand only. Anything outside those four actions is out of reach from the editor.

If you are still weighing tools, read n8n vs Zapier before you build the check.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words cover everything on this page. Each one is used as defined here.

Zap
The automation you build: one starting event, then one or more steps that run every time that event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Addressfinder has none, so another app always plays this part.
Action
The work the Zap does once it has started. All four Addressfinder operations are actions that check a piece of data.
Task
What Zapier bills you for: one action that completes successfully. Your plan is a monthly count of those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked on a timer by Zapier. An instant one is reported by the app the moment the event happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Connection
Your Addressfinder account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that calls Addressfinder.
Cost

What a verification really costs

Addressfinder is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month
  • Free plan Zap size2 steps
  • Premium appNo

Each check that succeeds is one task. The trigger in front of it costs nothing, and neither does Zapier looking for new data. A check that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps only: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action after the check and you are building a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. A few apps and actions take more than one task, so read your task history after the first runs.

Connect

Connect Addressfinder to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open your connections

Go to the Apps page of your Zapier account. You need an Addressfinder account before you start, plus access rights on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Add Addressfinder

Click + Add connection, type Addressfinder in the dialog and pick it from the list. Then click Add connection to open the sign-in tab for the app in a new window.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to Addressfinder in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection then appears on the Apps page and every Zap can reuse it.

First Zap

Your first Zap: clean emails before they reach your list

GoalEvery new form entry gets its email checked, and only the ones that pass your condition are added to your mailing list.

  1. 01

    Pick the starting app

Create a Zap and choose your form tool and its new-entry event as the trigger. Addressfinder cannot start a Zap, so something upstream always has to.

  2. 02

Test the trigger on a real entry

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent entries of the connected account, so you map fields on real data, not on a guess.

  3. 03

    Add the email check

Add an action, pick Addressfinder and Verify Email Address, then map the email answer from the form into the Email field, the only one it requires.

  4. 04

Gate the rest with a filter

Add a Filter from the plus icon and set the field to look at, the rule and the value. Pick a text rule for text. This step makes the Zap multi-step.

  5. 05

    Send it on, test, publish

Add your mailing-list app as the last action, test each step once and read what came back. Then Publish to switch the Zap on.

Actions

The 4 Addressfinder actions

Addressfinder gives you 4 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Verify Address AU

Action

In Zapier“Validates an address and returns a fully verified address”

Hands an Australian address to Addressfinder and gets back a checked, complete version of it, ready for the next step to store or use.

When to use it
a shop or a field-service team that ships or travels across Australia and wants each new address confirmed before it hits the order sheet.
Watch out
you must tick GNAF for physical addresses, PAF for postal ones, or both. Leave both off and the step will not run.
2

Verify Address NZ

Action

In Zapier“Validates an address and returns a fully verified address”

The New Zealand counterpart: send one address in, get a verified one out. It asks for nothing more than the Address field.

When to use it
a subscription box or a courier business whose customers are in New Zealand and type their own address at checkout.
Watch out
it only covers New Zealand. An address from anywhere else needs a different route, since the app has no action for other countries.
3

Verify Email Address

Action

In Zapier“Validates an email address and returns a fully verified email address data”

Checks one email address and returns what Addressfinder knows about it, so the Zap can decide what happens next.

When to use it
right after a sign-up form, before the contact lands in your newsletter tool or your CRM, so bad addresses never get in.
Watch out
acting on the result means a filter or another action after it, which turns the Zap multi-step and puts it on a paid plan.
4

Verify Phone Number

Action

In Zapier“Validates a phone number and returns a fully verified phone number data”

Takes a phone number and gives back verified data on it. It needs three answers: the number, a Country Code and whether you accept mobiles only.

When to use it
a lead form collects numbers that a sales team will call, and you want the unreachable ones flagged first.
Watch out
the Country Code is a two-letter ISO code, used whenever someone types a number without its international calling prefix.
When it breaks

When an Addressfinder Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to Addressfinder, so the traps below are the general ones that hit a verification Zap.

Most of them come from the app in front of Addressfinder, not from the check itself. When a run fails, start with the Zapier troubleshooting page.

  • Old contacts are never checked

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. The contacts already sitting in your form tool or sheet stay unchecked, and cleaning them is a separate job.
  • The Zap feeds itself

If the checked result is written back into the very place the trigger watches, the Zap fires again on its own output and burns through your task count fast.
  • A bulk import gets held back

Import a large file into the trigger app and the sudden batch can be paused by Zapier's flood protection instead of running every check at once.
  • The same contact is not checked twice

On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so the same entry never starts the Zap twice and never costs a second check.

FAQ

Addressfinder Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the Addressfinder Zapier integration free?
Yes, on the Zapier side. Addressfinder is not a premium app, so the free plan can use it. That plan gives you 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps: one trigger from another app, followed by one Addressfinder check. The moment you add a filter or a second action, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. Your Addressfinder account itself is a separate matter, handled on the Addressfinder side.
02How many tasks does one verification use?
One per successful check. The trigger that starts the Zap is free, and Zapier looking for new entries is free too, however often it checks. If Verify Phone Number fails, that run is not counted against your plan. A Zap that checks an email and then adds the contact to a list uses two tasks per entry, because each successful action is billed on its own. Some apps and actions take more than one task, so the history is worth a look after the first runs.
03Does Addressfinder run in real time in Zapier?
It runs as soon as the Zap reaches it, but the timing depends on the trigger in front of it. Addressfinder has no trigger of its own. If the starting app reports events instantly, the check happens straight away whatever the plan. If that trigger is polling, Zapier checks on a timer: every 15 minutes on the free plan, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. On the paid plans you can also change how often a polling trigger checks, or run a check by hand from the editor.
04What does it take to connect Addressfinder?
An Addressfinder account, and access to anything you do not own yourself that the Zap should touch. The connection starts from the Apps page of Zapier with + Add connection. Pick Addressfinder, sign in to it in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. You only do this once, not once per Zap. The connection is then reused by every Zap that calls an Addressfinder action. Once linked, the account appears on the Apps page.
05Why does Verify Address AU refuse to save?
Because it needs at least one address source ticked. GNAF returns physical addresses, PAF returns postal addresses, and you can select both. With neither ticked, the step is incomplete. The Address field is also required, so map it from the trigger app before testing. Verify Address NZ has no such choice and only asks for the address. Verify Phone Number has a similar rule: it will not run without a Country Code and an answer on Mobile Only.
06What if the Addressfinder action you want does not exist?
Then Zapier cannot do it with this app today. The editor offers four actions only: two address checks, for Australia and New Zealand, one email check and one phone check. There is no trigger and no search. A need outside that list calls for another tool or a custom build, and it is worth comparing platforms before committing to one. The comparison pages on this site list what each platform covers, which helps before you settle on one.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Addressfinder?
It depends on your criteria rather than on a winner. Zapier gives you four ready-made checks and a free plan that covers a simple two-step Zap. If you need conditions after the check, count the cost of a paid plan. If you want to host the workflow yourself or call parts of the app Zapier does not expose, look at the other platforms and compare them on those points. Either way, test the check on real entries before you rely on it.
