Overview

What the Cloudmersive Zapier integration does for you

The Cloudmersive Zapier integration links your Cloudmersive account to the rest of your tools. A Zap (an automation with one starting event and the steps that follow it) hands Cloudmersive a file, a web address or an email, and gets back the converted, captured or checked result for the next step.

Three outcomes cover most uses. A Word quote or a spreadsheet report becomes a PDF with Convert to PDF, ready to file or send. A landing page becomes an image with Take Screenshot of Website, which gives you a visual record of a client site on a given day. A sign-up address gets a verdict with Validate Email Address before anything else happens to it.

What Zapier does not do here matters just as much. Cloudmersive has no trigger on Zapier, so it never starts a Zap by itself: another app has to fire first, and Cloudmersive always sits in second position. It has no search step either, so a Zap cannot look back at past conversions inside Cloudmersive. And the integration stops at those three jobs (nothing else from Cloudmersive shows up in the editor).

The same app also has a page on the Make side, the Cloudmersive Make integration. Still picking a platform? A good first read is Make vs Zapier.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Eight words come back on every line of this page. Here they are in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps that run each time that event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts a Zap. Cloudmersive has none, so the trigger always comes from another tool you use.
Action
The step that does the work once the Zap is running. All three Cloudmersive operations on Zapier are actions.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action that completed successfully. The monthly allowance of your plan is counted in tasks.
Polling vs instant trigger
Zapier checks a polling trigger on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself, the moment the event happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the incoming data meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Connection
Your Cloudmersive account, linked to Zapier once and then reused by every step that calls Cloudmersive.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter turns it into one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What Cloudmersive on Zapier really costs

Cloudmersive is not a premium app on Zapier, so it works on the free plan. You pay in tasks, and only actions that succeed are counted.

  • Premium appNo, free plan accepted
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Per successful action1 task
  • Trigger and failed actionsNot counted

Each conversion, screenshot or email check that goes through costs one task. A failed one costs nothing, and neither does the trigger of the other app. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month, but only two-step Zaps: one trigger, one Cloudmersive action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap turns multi-step, which takes a paid plan. The interval grid below applies to the polling trigger of the app that starts the Zap.

Connect

Connect Cloudmersive to Zapier in 3 steps

  1. 01

Open Apps and add a connection

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. Have your Cloudmersive login ready: Zapier links an account that already exists, it does not create one.

  2. 02

    Find Cloudmersive and confirm

Type Cloudmersive in the search box of the dialog, pick it from the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Cloudmersive side for the last move.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Cloudmersive in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is saved, and every Zap step that uses Cloudmersive picks it up without asking again.

First Zap

Your first Zap: vet sign-up emails before HubSpot

GoalWhen someone submits a Typeform form, Cloudmersive checks the email, and HubSpot gets a new contact only when the address passes.

  1. 01

    Build the Zap on Typeform

Create a new Zap and choose Typeform as the app that starts it, with the new-entry event. Connect the account and select the form that collects sign-ups.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent entries of that form, so you map the next steps on a real answer instead of an empty template.

  3. 03

    Add Validate Email Address

Add Cloudmersive with Validate Email Address and map the email answer from the form into the Email Address field, the only one this action asks for. Then test it.

  4. 04

    Filter on the verdict

Add a filter and point it at the value in the test result that tells you the address is valid. Pick a rule that matches its type: a text rule never passes on a number.

  5. 05

    Create the contact and publish

Add HubSpot with a create-contact step, map the email, test it, then click Publish. With four steps, this Zap runs on a paid plan.

Actions

Cloudmersive actions available on Zapier

Cloudmersive gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Convert to PDF

Action

In Zapier“Converts an office document into a PDF file”

Hand it an office document plus its file name, and it gives back the same content as a PDF that later steps can store or send on.

When to use it
a quote drafted in Word has to leave as a PDF attached to the client email, without anyone opening a converter by hand.
Watch out
Filename and File are both required, so the trigger app must pass an actual file, not just a title or a link.
2

Take Screenshot of Website

Action

In Zapier“Take a screenshot image of any website”

Give this one a web address and it captures that page as an image, which the following step can drop into a folder or post in a channel.

When to use it
each competitor URL your team adds to a tracking sheet gets a picture of how the page looked that day.
Watch out
Website Address is the only required input, so the image depends entirely on the address the earlier step passes in.
3

Validate Email Address

Action

In Zapier“Check if an email address is real or fake”

Send it a single address and it tells the Zap whether that address looks genuine or fake, so the steps after it can react to the answer.

When to use it
a lead form feeds your CRM and only verified addresses should ever become contacts.
Watch out
acting on the verdict takes a filter after this step, and that filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
When it breaks

When a Cloudmersive Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Cloudmersive, so the failures worth knowing are the ones every Zap can hit.

Because Cloudmersive always runs second, most of these start at the trigger app, not at Cloudmersive. If a run goes wrong, open Zapier troubleshooting before rebuilding anything.

  • Old files never get processed

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Documents already sitting in the folder before publishing are not converted: moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • The Zap that feeds itself

Save the PDF back into the very folder your trigger watches and the new file starts the Zap again, over and over, eating through your task count fast.
  • A bulk import gets held back

Drop a huge batch into the trigger app at once, after a migration for instance, and Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back instead of running them all.
  • No double runs on a polling trigger

When the trigger app is polled, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so the same file or entry does not start the Zap twice and cost a second task.

FAQ

Cloudmersive and Zapier: frequent questions

01Is the Cloudmersive Zapier integration free?
Yes, on the Zapier side. Cloudmersive is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan, which includes 100 tasks a month. The catch is the step limit: a free Zap holds one trigger and one action, nothing more. That is enough to convert an attachment or check an address. A filter after Validate Email Address, or a second action that stores the PDF somewhere, makes the Zap multi-step and moves it to a paid plan. Your Cloudmersive account is a separate subscription that this page does not cover.
02How many Zapier tasks does each Cloudmersive action use?
One per action that completes. A successful conversion counts one task, so does a screenshot, so does an email check. If the action fails, nothing is charged. The trigger that starts the Zap is free, and so are the checks Zapier runs on a polling trigger, however frequent. A Zap that validates an address and then creates a contact uses two tasks per run, because each successful action is counted on its own. A few apps take more than one task per action, so glance at the task history after the first runs.
03Does Cloudmersive run in real time on Zapier?
It depends on the app that starts the Zap, since Cloudmersive has no trigger of its own. Its actions run as soon as that trigger fires. If the trigger is instant, the other app reports the event straight away, whatever your plan. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks on a timer: every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 on Professional, every minute on Team and Enterprise. When speed matters, pick a trigger app with an instant event. The editor marks those Zaps with a lightning bolt.
04What does it take to connect Cloudmersive to Zapier?
A Cloudmersive account, plus access to any files or data the Zap will touch when they belong to someone else. The connection itself takes three moves: open Apps in Zapier, add a connection for Cloudmersive, then sign in and grant access in the tab that opens. After that, every step that uses Cloudmersive reuses the same connection. Each action still needs its required input from an earlier step: a file and its name for conversion, a web address for screenshots, an email for validation.
05Why can't a Zap start from Cloudmersive?
Because the integration ships no trigger, only three actions. Cloudmersive never tells Zapier that something happened, so it cannot be the first card of a Zap. The workaround is to start from the app where the input shows up: a storage tool where documents land, a form that collects emails, a sheet where URLs get added. Cloudmersive then sits second and processes whatever that trigger hands over. On the free plan, that trigger plus one Cloudmersive action already uses both allowed steps.
06What if the Cloudmersive action you're after is missing?
Then Zapier does not offer it today. The editor lists exactly three Cloudmersive actions: Convert to PDF, Take Screenshot of Website and Validate Email Address. Anything else Cloudmersive does outside those three cannot be reached from a regular Zap step. Check the action list in the editor before designing the workflow, since a new version of the integration can change it, and build around the three that exist rather than one you expect to find.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Cloudmersive?
It comes down to criteria, not a ranking. On Zapier, Cloudmersive brings three actions, no trigger and no search, and it works on the free plan as long as the Zap stays at two steps. If those three jobs cover the need and your other apps already run on Zapier, that is the short path. If the need falls outside that list, or calls for a filter on a free plan, compare each platform's own Cloudmersive catalogue before committing, rather than assuming they match.
