CrowdPower Zapier integrationAutomate CrowdPower with Zapier.
The CrowdPower Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger, 4 actions and 0 searches. Enough to push customers, charges, events and tags into CrowdPower from your other apps, or to let a CrowdPower automation hand work off to the rest of your tools.

What the CrowdPower Zapier integration actually does
It links CrowdPower, a tool that fires actions based on how people behave on your website, to the other apps you already run. Data moves both ways: other apps can create customers, charges, events and tags in CrowdPower, and a CrowdPower automation can start work somewhere else. Each of those bridges is a Zap.
A customer list that stays current. With Upsert a Customer, a signup in another app creates the CrowdPower customer, or updates the record when that email is already known. Your forms, checkout and CRM all feed the same record.
Revenue on the customer profile. Create a Customer Charge logs each payment against the right person, so spending sits right next to behavior.
Automations that reach outside CrowdPower. Drop a Zapier action into a CrowdPower automation, and the Automation Action trigger lets a Zap pick it up and carry on in Slack, a spreadsheet or your CRM.
What it does not do: there is no search, so no Zap can read an existing customer back out of CrowdPower. Nothing deletes a customer or removes a tag either. And the only trigger checks on a timer, never instantly. Plan around that if speed matters: on the free plan, a run can wait up to 15 minutes before Zapier sees it. Weighing Make instead? Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words you will see all over the editor, in plain English.
- Zap
- One automation on Zapier: a single starting event, then the steps that follow each time. Here, CrowdPower can be the start, the destination, or both.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap; once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. For CrowdPower, it is a Zapier action reached inside an automation.
- Action
- The step that does the work once the Zap has started: here, writing a customer, a charge, an event or a tag into CrowdPower.
- Task
- What Zapier bills. One task is one action that completes successfully, and the number on your plan counts nothing else.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer. It asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only what it has not seen yet.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself, calling Zapier the moment the event happens. CrowdPower offers none of these on Zapier.
- Filter
- A checkpoint between the trigger and the next step: the run goes on only when a value you choose matches, such as one field of the automation run.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter is enough to make one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What it really costs to run
CrowdPower is not a premium app (the kind Zapier keeps for paid plans), so it works on the free plan. What you spend is tasks.
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
- TriggerCosts zero tasks
- Failed actionNot counted
The Automation Action trigger never costs a task, however often Zapier checks it. Each CrowdPower action that goes through costs one; an action that fails costs nothing. A Zap that upserts a customer and then tags them burns two tasks per run. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but only two-step ones: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action and you are on a paid plan.
Connect your CrowdPower account in three steps
- 01
Open your apps page
Sign in to Zapier and open the Apps page of your account. You need a CrowdPower account first, plus read or write access to anything you do not own but want the Zap to touch.
- 02
Find CrowdPower and add it
Click + Add connection, type CrowdPower in the search box of the dialog, pick it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the CrowdPower side.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to CrowdPower in that tab and allow Zapier to reach the account. That connection (your account, linked once) is then reused by every Zap step that talks to CrowdPower.
Your first Zap: ping the sales channel when an automation reaches Zapier
GoalA SaaS team wants a Slack message each time a CrowdPower automation reaches its Zapier step, but only for the runs that matter to sales.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Start a new Zap, choose CrowdPower as the app and Automation Action as the event, then select the connection you just added.
- 02
Choose the campaign and test
In the Campaign field, pick the campaign that holds the Zapier action. Test the trigger: Zapier brings back the three most recent runs, so you map real data.
- 03
Add the filter
Click the plus icon, add a Filter step and fill its three boxes: a value you saw in the test sample, the rule, and what to compare it with. Text rules only work on text.
- 04
Add the Slack action
Add Slack with Send Channel Message, choose the channel, and drop values from the CrowdPower step into the message so the team knows who it is about.
- 05
Test and publish
Run each step once and read what came back. When the message looks right, click Publish. Because of the filter, this Zap is multi-step and needs a paid plan.
CrowdPower trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in CrowdPower. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
Automation Action
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a Zapier action in a CrowdPower automation is executed.”
This one turns a CrowdPower automation into a starting point for Zapier. Add a Zapier action inside an automation, and every time someone's behavior carries them to that step, the Zap receives the run and can act in any other app you use.
CrowdPower actions
CrowdPower gives you 4 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Upsert a Customer
ActionIn Zapier“Creates or updates a customer.”
Creates the customer in CrowdPower, or updates the existing one when the email already matches. One step covers brand-new contacts and returning ones alike.
Create a Customer Charge
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a customer charge.”
Records a payment on a customer's profile, matched by email, so the money sits next to that person's activity in CrowdPower.
Create a Customer Event
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a customer event.”
Adds an event to a customer's timeline, found by email. It is how you tell CrowdPower about something that happened away from your website.
Create a Customer Tag
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a customer tag.”
Puts a tag on a customer, identified by email, picked from the tags already defined in your CrowdPower project.
When the CrowdPower Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to CrowdPower, and no limit specific to the app is documented. The problems you will hit are the ones every Zap runs into.
Four of them matter most here. If a Zap still misbehaves after that, head to Zapier troubleshooting.
No catch-up on old data
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Customers, charges and automation runs from before stay where they are; moving that backlog is a separate job.The self-feeding loop
If the automation behind your trigger can start when a tag or an event arrives, and your Zap creates that very tag or event, each run sets off the next one and burns through tasks fast.Flood protection on big batches
When the trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import for instance, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back instead of firing them all.No double runs
Zapier remembers what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so the same automation run never starts the Zap twice, even across several checks.
