Facebook Lead Ads Zapier integrationAutomate Facebook Lead Ads with Zapier.
The Facebook Lead Ads Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger, 1 action and 0 searches. The trigger catches each new lead from your ad forms the moment it is submitted; the action sends where that lead stands in your sales process back to Meta, through its Conversions API.
Premium app Zapier reserves this app to its paid plans.

What the Facebook Lead Ads Zapier integration actually does
Linking Facebook Lead Ads to Zapier means every person who fills in one of your ad forms lands in your tools on its own, with nobody copying it by hand. Zapier is the tool that chains apps together. Here, it listens to your lead forms and passes each new contact to the next app.
Three outcomes cover most setups. A contact in your CRM within moments: New Lead fires as soon as the form is sent, and the next step creates the record where your sales team works. A same-day follow-up: the same trigger feeds an email or a team chat message, so a rep calls the lead while the ad is still fresh in their mind. Your sales stages back in Meta: Send Funnel Event publishes where a lead stands in your sales process to Meta's Conversions API, so the ad side sees more than the form.
Now the limits. Zapier offers no search here, so a Zap cannot look up an existing lead in Facebook. And it exposes no step to create or edit a form, an ad or a campaign: you build those in Meta, Zapier only reads leads and writes funnel events. Facebook Lead Ads is also a premium app, reserved to paid plans and the free trial.
The same app exists on other platforms: see the Facebook Lead Ads n8n integration and the Facebook Lead Ads Make integration before you commit.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words come back on every Zapier page. Here they are in plain English, once.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one event that starts it, then one or more steps that run each time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Here, a new lead submitted through one of your Facebook ad forms.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something on your behalf.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action that completes successfully; your plan's allowance counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant one is pushed by the app as soon as the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
What a Facebook Lead Ads Zap really costs
Facebook Lead Ads is a premium app: it needs a paid Zapier plan or the free trial.
- Premium appYes, paid plans and free trial only
- Free planNot usable with this app
- BilledEach successful action, one task each
- Not billedThe New Lead trigger, failed actions
That is the first thing to know, because the free plan (100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only) cannot use it at all. On a paid plan, the counting is simple. Catching a new lead costs nothing: the trigger is never billed. Each action that succeeds afterwards counts as one task, so a Zap that adds the lead to a CRM and emails the rep uses two tasks per lead. A step that fails is not billed. The plan's polling interval does not matter here either, since New Lead is instant.
Connect Facebook Lead Ads to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Facebook account linked once, then reused by every step of every Zap that calls it.
- 02
Pick Facebook Lead Ads
Type Facebook Lead Ads in the dialog's search box, choose it from the list, then click Add connection. A Facebook login tab opens so you can authorise the link.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in with the Facebook profile that manages your Pages and grant Zapier access. You need rights on any Page or ad account you do not own yourself, or it will not show up later.
Your first Zap: report qualified leads back to Meta
GoalA new lead arrives from your form, a filter keeps only the ones that meet your condition, and Zapier sends their stage to Meta.
- 01
Create the Zap
In Zapier, start a new Zap and pick Facebook Lead Ads with New Lead as the event that starts it. Choose the Page and the form whose leads you want to catch.
- 02
Test with a real lead
Test the trigger. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of the connected account, so you map fields on a real submission rather than a blank one.
- 03
Keep the right leads
Add a Filter: pick a field from the lead, a rule and a value. Use a text rule on text and a number rule on numbers, or the filter never lets anything through.
- 04
Send the funnel event
Add Send Funnel Event, choose the Business Account and the Dataset, then fill in Stage in Sales Process and CRM You Use. The filter makes this a multi-step Zap, which a paid plan covers.
- 05
Test and publish
Run each step once and read what came back from Meta at the last step. When it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
Facebook Lead Ads triggers in Zapier
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Facebook Lead Ads, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Lead
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new lead is created.”
Starts the Zap each time someone submits one of your lead forms, and hands the lead and the answers it gave to the steps that follow. It is the only trigger this app offers in the editor, so every lead Zap starts here.
Facebook Lead Ads actions in Zapier
Facebook Lead Ads gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Send Funnel Event
ActionIn Zapier“Publishes lead updates from your funnel to Meta Conversions API.”
Tells Meta where a lead now stands in your sales process, for instance qualified or won, by publishing that update to Meta's Conversions API. The lead stays where it is; only its stage travels.
When a Facebook Lead Ads Zap breaks
Zapier attaches ten help articles to this app, and several of them deal with access and permissions rather than the Zap itself.
The cases below come from those article titles and from the limits every Zap shares. When a lead goes missing, start with access: who manages the Page, and which profile made the connection. The Zapier troubleshooting guide covers the general method.
The Zap does not trigger
Zapier has a dedicated article for this exact case, which makes it the first thing to read. Before that, check that the Zap is published and that the lead arrived after it was.Your Page is missing in the editor
If the Page does not appear in the trigger's list, the connected profile likely lacks rights on it. Zapier documents this case in its own article. Not enough admin permission
This error says the connected user does not have sufficient administrative permission. Reconnect with a profile that manages the Page, or ask an admin to grant it.Meta work account migration
Zapier published a note for Facebook-related app users about Meta's move to work accounts. Read it if your login changed and the connection stopped working.Testing without a real ad
Meta's lead ads testing tool creates sample leads, which Zapier describes in an article. Use it to test the trigger instead of waiting for real traffic.Old leads are not picked up
A Zap only reacts to leads that arrive after it is published. Leads collected before stay in Meta; moving that backlog is a separate job.
