Gamma Zapier integrationAutomate Gamma with Zapier.
The Gamma Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers, 2 actions and 1 search. Gamma cannot start a Zap, so another tool does, and Gamma builds a presentation or document from what arrives. Here is what each step does, what it costs and where it trips.

What the Gamma Zapier integration does for you
Gamma uses AI to produce presentations, documents, social posts and web pages from text you give it. The Gamma Zapier integration lets another tool send that text, so a deck or a document gets drafted the moment something happens elsewhere. You set the flow up once, and the first draft stops being a blank page someone has to open by hand.
Three results people usually build first. A proposal deck in your house style: Create From Template adapts one of your existing Gamma templates with the details of a new deal, so every proposal starts from the same layout. A first draft from raw notes: Create Generation turns text from a form, a note or a brief into a presentation or a document. A Zap that knows when the draft is done: Get Generation Status checks a generation request, so the next step works on a finished result.
What Zapier does not do here is just as important. Gamma has no trigger, so nothing that happens inside Gamma can start a Zap: the first step always belongs to another tool. There is no action to edit, share or delete a gamma once it exists. And a Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it, so older deals or notes never get a deck.
Gamma also has a Gamma Make integration page if you are comparing tools; there is no n8n page for it on this site yet.
Zapier words, in plain English
Eight words come back on every Zapier page. Read them once here and the rest of the page reads faster.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Gamma has none, so with Gamma the trigger always comes from another tool.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or creates something for you, here a new gamma.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills you for: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan counts those, nothing else.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by its app the moment it happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets a condition you set, and stops it quietly the rest of the time.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something that already exists in an app, so the steps after it can use what it found.
- Connection
- Your Gamma account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that touches Gamma.
What it really costs you
Gamma is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, and the trigger never counts.
- Tasks on the free plan100 per month
- Steps on the free plan2: one trigger, one action
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
- Gamma triggers0: another tool starts the Zap
The trigger, from whichever tool starts the Zap, costs nothing. Each action that succeeds counts as one task, and a failed one is not counted. A Zap that answers each new deal with Create From Template costs one task per deal. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month, but only two-step Zaps: one trigger, one action. Add Get Generation Status or a filter and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The trigger app has to work on the free plan too, since the first step always comes from it. How fast the Zap starts depends on the trigger app: the grid below applies only if that trigger is a polling one.
Connect your Gamma account in three steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box: type Gamma and pick it. You need an existing Gamma account before you start.
- 02
Sign in to Gamma
Click Add connection. A new tab opens on Gamma: sign in with the account whose templates and workspace the Zap should use. A template shared with you only works if this account can open it.
- 03
Grant access and reuse it
Allow Zapier to use the account. The connection is saved, and every Zap you build with Gamma reuses it, so the next one starts without signing in again.
Your first Zap: a proposal deck for every new deal
GoalEach new deal in your CRM gets a proposal deck drafted from your Gamma template, and the Zap checks that the generation went through.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start building a new Zap. Pick your CRM as the app that starts the Zap and its new-deal event, then test it so Zapier brings back three recent deals to work with.
- 02
Add Create From Template
Add Gamma with
Create From Templateand your saved connection. Paste the Template Gamma ID of your proposal template, then write the Prompt with the deal details mapped in. - 03
Add the status search
Add
Get Generation Statusand map the Generation ID returned by the previous step. This search makes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan is needed. - 04
Test, then publish
Test each step and open the result in Gamma before going further. Then click Publish: every new deal from now on gets its draft deck.
Gamma actions
Gamma gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Create From Template
ActionIn Zapier“Generate new content based on an existing Gamma template (BETA)”
Starts from a gamma you already designed and adapts it with new text, images and instructions. The layout stays yours, only the content changes. Zapier marks this one as beta.
Create Generation
ActionIn Zapier“Generate a new Gamma presentation, document, social post, or webpage”
Hands Gamma a block of text and gets back a new presentation, document, social post or web page built from it. You also choose how freely Gamma may rework your words.
Gamma search
1 search step looks for data that already exists in Gamma, so a later step can use it.
A search step looks up something that already exists and hands it to the steps after it. In the editor, searches sit at the bottom of the action list under their own heading. Three settings decide what happens when the lookup does not go to plan.
Get Generation Status
SearchIn Zapier“Check the status of a gamma generation request”
Checks where a generation request stands, using the ID that Create Generation returned. It lets the rest of the Zap know whether the gamma is ready to use.
The three settings every search exposes
- Successful if no search results are found?Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and the steps that depended on it are skipped. Switched on, the Zap carries on empty-handed.
- Create X if it doesn't exist yet?Ticking it turns a search into a find-or-create. Gamma offers no such variant on Zapier, so this box does not appear on its search.
- If multiple search results are found?Three ways out when several items match: keep the first, which is the default, stop the Zap, or hand them all on.
When it breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Gamma, and no Gamma-specific limit is documented on its page. The cases below come from how every Zap behaves.
With Gamma, most surprises come from the step before it: the trigger app decides what text arrives, and an empty or messy field gives Gamma nothing good to work with. The rest are Zap behaviours worth knowing before you publish. If a run fails, our Zapier troubleshooting page is the place to start.
Old deals never get a deck
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Records created before that are never sent to Gamma, and drafting them is a separate job.A required field arrives empty
Input Text, Text Mode, Template Gamma ID and Prompt are required. If the mapped value is empty on a run, the step fails there, and it is not billed.A search that stops the Zap
If Get Generation Status finds nothing and the default setting is kept, the Zap stops there and the steps that needed the gamma are skipped.A bulk import held back
If the trigger app suddenly returns a large batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the runs back instead of generating them all.
