Overview

What the Lead2Team Zapier integration actually does

Lead2Team is a lead generation tool built for sales people. Plugged into Zapier, it does one thing: it tells your other apps that a lead was just created. Everything else (where the lead goes, who hears about it) is set up in the steps you add after it.

Three results you can get from that single New Lead trigger. First, a running list: each new lead lands as a fresh row in your spreadsheet, so the team works from one shared sheet instead of copy-pasting. Second, a heads-up: the lead is pushed as a message into the tool your team reads all day, so nobody has to keep a tab open on Lead2Team. Third, a sorted flow: a filter checks one field of the lead and only the leads that match go on to the next step (that one needs a paid plan, more below).

Now what Zapier does not do here. It cannot write anything back into Lead2Team: the app offers no action and no search on Zapier, so you cannot create, update or look up a lead from a Zap. The traffic runs one way, out of Lead2Team. It also does not pull in the leads you already had before the Zap was switched on. The trigger itself never costs a task; only the actions that follow it do.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Seven words come back all over this page. Here they are in plain English, once.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap. Here it is a new lead in Lead2Team; once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in another app.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked on a timer, Zapier asks for new items. An instant one is reported by the app the moment it happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Connection
Your Lead2Team account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step and every Zap that needs it.
Cost

What it really costs you

Lead2Team is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. The trigger itself never costs a task, and neither does Zapier checking for new leads, however often it looks.

  • Premium appNo, works on the free plan
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Trigger cost0 tasks
  • Failed actionNot counted

You pay in tasks for the action that follows: each one that succeeds counts once, and one that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but only two steps per Zap: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action and it becomes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.

One more thing on timing: on a paid plan you can change how often the trigger checks, and run a check by hand from the editor.

Connect

Connect Lead2Team to Zapier in 3 steps

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. You need a Lead2Team account first, plus access to anything you do not own and want the Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Find Lead2Team

Type Lead2Team in the search box of the dialog, pick it from the list, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the Lead2Team side, where you sign in.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to Lead2Team in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection now shows on your Apps page, ready for any Zap that starts from Lead2Team.

First Zap

Your first Lead2Team Zap

GoalEvery new Lead2Team lead lands as a row in your spreadsheet.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Start a new Zap in Zapier. You build it top to bottom: the app and event that start it, then the app and action that follow.

  2. 02

    Set the trigger

Pick Lead2Team as the app and New Lead as the event, then choose the Lead2Team connection you made earlier from the list.

  3. 03

Test it on a real lead

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of the account, so you map the next step on a real one, not on a blank.

  4. 04

    Add the action

Add your spreadsheet as the next step and map the lead's details into its columns. The third card, a message, makes it multi-step: paid plan only.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test each step once and read what came back before going further. When it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.

Triggers

The Lead2Team trigger

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Lead2Team. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Lead

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a lead is created.”

This is the only way out of Lead2Team: the Zap starts each time a lead is created in your account, and the lead's details become available to every step you add after it, ready to be mapped into another app.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
when the people who follow up on leads live in another tool and should not have to keep an eye on Lead2Team.
Watch out
on the free plan a lead can wait up to a full check interval before anything happens, which is fine for a sheet but slow for a hot call.
When it breaks

When the Lead2Team Zap breaks

Lead2Team has no help article of its own on Zapier, and no app-specific limit is documented. What breaks is the general Zapier stuff, and it hits a lead pipeline in very concrete ways.

Four cases worth knowing before you count on the Zap. If one of them bites, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • Old leads never show up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Leads created before that are not picked up, so the history needs its own transfer.
  • A loop that eats your tasks

If a later step feeds leads back into the place the trigger watches, the Zap sets itself off again and again and burns through your task count.
  • A bulk import gets held back

When Lead2Team suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import for instance, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back instead of running them all.
  • A lead never runs twice

On a polling trigger Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so the same lead does not start the Zap a second time.

FAQ

Lead2Team Zapier integration: the questions people ask

01Is the Lead2Team Zapier integration free?
Yes, on the free plan. Lead2Team is not a premium app, so a Zap that starts from New Lead and runs one action works without paying. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The catch is the shape of the Zap: two steps only, one trigger and one action. The moment you add a filter or a second action, it turns into a multi-step Zap and Zapier asks for a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a Lead2Team Zap use?
One per successful action, per lead. The New Lead trigger costs nothing, and Zapier checking Lead2Team for new leads costs nothing either, however often it looks. So a Zap that writes each lead into a sheet uses one task per lead. A Zap with three actions would use three per lead. An action that fails is not counted against your plan. That is why the free plan's 100 tasks go further than they seem here.
03Is the Lead2Team trigger real time?
No. New Lead is a polling trigger: Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan. That is every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 on Professional, and every minute on Team and Enterprise. The type comes from the app itself and cannot be switched from the editor. On paid plans you can also run a check by hand from the editor. There is no lightning bolt on this Zap in the editor.
04What does it take to connect Lead2Team to Zapier?
A Lead2Team account you can sign in to, and a Zapier account. The connection takes three moves: open the Apps page, click + Add connection, search Lead2Team, then sign in to it in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. If the Zap should touch anything you do not own yourself, you also need read or write access to it. Once linked, the connection is reused by every Zap you build.
05Why are existing Lead2Team leads not coming through?
Because a Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Leads that were already in Lead2Team when you published the Zap are never picked up, and Zapier does not offer a catch-up. When you test the trigger, it shows the three most recent leads so you can map fields, but that test does not send your backlog anywhere. Moving older leads is a separate job. Plan for it before you switch the Zap on.
06What if the Lead2Team operation you need is not on Zapier?
Then Zapier cannot do it for this app today. Lead2Team only offers one trigger, New Lead: no action and no search. That means a Zap cannot create, update or look up a lead inside Lead2Team. What you can do is send each new lead out to another app and do the work there. Anything that has to happen inside Lead2Team stays a manual step for now. It is worth checking the app page again from time to time.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Lead2Team?
It depends on your criteria rather than on a winner. On Zapier, Lead2Team gives you one polling trigger and works from the free plan, which suits a simple copy of each new lead. Look at how fast leads must arrive, since the check interval depends on the plan, and at how many steps you need, since anything past two steps needs a paid Zapier plan. Then compare the same points on the other tools.
