What the Last Video Zapier integration does for a channel owner
Last Video shows your latest YouTube video on your website without touching the site's code. Its Zapier integration goes one step further: the same channel events, a new upload or a live stream going on or off air, can start a Zap that tells your other tools, without code.
Three results come up most. First, every upload announced: New Video Added to Channel starts a Zap that posts the news in your team chat, your newsletter tool or your social scheduler. Second, live audiences gathered on time: Live Video Begins Streaming sends the alert while the stream is actually on, which is when an email or a community post brings people in. Third, a clean follow-up after the show: Live Video Ends Streaming can log the session in a spreadsheet or prompt your team to clip the replay.
What it does not do. Last Video only reports: it has no action, so a Zap cannot change your Last Video setup or your channel. It has no search either. Each trigger watches one channel name, so several channels mean several Zaps. And everything a Zap does after the trigger happens in other apps, which is where the tasks are counted.

Zapier words in one minute
Seven words carry this page. Here they are once, in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Here, a new upload or a live stream that starts or ends on your channel.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts. Last Video has none of its own, so every action runs in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully; your plan counts those and nothing else.
- Instant vs polling
- An instant trigger is pushed by the app the moment it happens. A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer set by your plan.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when incoming data meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Last Video account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every trigger that watches your channel.
What a Last Video Zap really costs
Last Video is not a premium app, so it works on the Free plan. Zapier bills tasks, and only successful actions count.
- Free plan100 tasks per month, unlimited Zaps
- Zap size on FreeTwo steps: one trigger, one action
- Last Video triggers3 instant, 0 polling
- Premium appNo
Last Video's triggers never cost a task. What you pay for is what follows: each successful action in another app counts once, so posting to one chat costs one task per video, and a Zap that also sends an email costs two. Failed actions are free. The Free plan builds two-step Zaps only, so a filter or a second action needs a paid plan. And because all three triggers are instant, the polling grid below never slows them down.
Connect your Last Video account in three steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your Last Video account linked once to Zapier, then reused by every trigger that watches your channel.
- 02
Pick Last Video in the dialog
Type Last Video in the dialog's search box, select it and click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Last Video sign-in page. Use the account set up for the channel you want to follow.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to Last Video in that tab and allow Zapier into the account. The triggers can then watch the channels this account handles; a channel managed elsewhere stays out of reach.
Your first Zap: announce every new video to your team and your list
GoalEach video published on your channel is posted in the team chat and emailed to a contact list, without anyone copying the link.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap. It reads top to bottom: the app and event that start it, then the apps and actions that follow, with fields mapped between them.
- 02
Set the trigger
Pick Last Video, then New Video Added to Channel, and enter the channel name. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent items so you map on a real video.
- 03
Add the chat message
Add your team chat app as the first action and map the video details from the trigger into the message, so the post carries the link.
- 04
Add the email
Add an email step as the second action. Two actions make the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan, and each video then costs two tasks.
- 05
Test and publish
Run each step once and read what came back. When the message and the email look right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
Last Video triggers: what starts a Zap
3 events start a Zap when something happens in Last Video, and 3 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
Live Video Ends Streaming
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a live stream video ends.”
Goes off when a live stream on the channel you named comes to an end, which is the moment to deal with everything that happens after the show.
Live Video Begins Streaming
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a live stream video begins.”
Starts the Zap as soon as a live stream begins on the channel you monitor, while the audience can still join.
New Video Added to Channel
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new video is added to channel.”
Reacts to each new video added to the channel, whether or not anyone is watching your site.
When a Last Video Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Last Video and lists no app-specific rate limit. What goes wrong comes from the channel setting and from how Zapier works in general.
Four cases explain most surprises. If one still blocks you, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
The trigger watches the wrong channel
Each trigger needs the name of the channel to monitor. A name typed slightly differently points the Zap somewhere else, and nothing ever arrives.Older videos never came through
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Earlier uploads and streams are never replayed; sharing them is a separate job.A batch of uploads was held back
When a trigger suddenly sends a large batch at once, after a bulk upload for instance, Zapier's flood protection can hold the runs back.Several channels, several Zaps
Each trigger watches a single channel name. A second channel needs its own Zap, and every Zap bills its own actions in tasks.
