Overview

What the Lodasoft Zapier integration actually does

Lodasoft is a workflow platform for the people who handle a mortgage from start to finish. Through Zapier, it accepts new leads sent by your other tools, and it can hand back two reference lists, the loan purposes and the loan types it knows, each with its ID.

Three outcomes come up, all on real operations. First, a website form that feeds Lodasoft directly: someone asks about a mortgage, and Post Lead creates the lead with no copy and paste. Second, a lead that arrives already qualified: answers such as first-time home buyer or property already found travel with it, since Post Lead has fields for both. Third, a Zap that speaks Lodasoft's vocabulary: Get Loan Purposes and Get Loan Types return the lists Lodasoft uses, with their IDs, for any later step that needs one of those values.

Now what Zapier does not do for Lodasoft, because the list is short. Nothing that happens inside Lodasoft can start a Zap: there is no trigger, so a lead that moves forward there tells no other tool. There is no update action, so a lead posted once cannot be corrected from Zapier. And the two searches read reference lists; they do not look up a lead, a borrower or a loan file.

If you are weighing Zapier against the other options first, see the Zapier alternatives page.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary, in one minute

Eight words carry this page. Here they are in plain terms, once.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts a Zap. Lodasoft has none on Zapier, so the trigger always comes from another app, like a form.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started. Lodasoft offers one, Post Lead, which sends a new lead into Lodasoft.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan is a count of those.
Polling vs instant
Polling: Zapier asks an app for news on a timer. Instant: the app calls Zapier as soon as something happens. It depends on the trigger app.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it there otherwise.
Search step
A step that looks up something that already exists, here a Lodasoft reference list, so later steps can use it.
Connection
Your Lodasoft account linked to Zapier once, then offered to every step of every Zap that uses Lodasoft.
Cost

What it really costs

Short version: each lead that Post Lead actually posts costs one task. Lodasoft is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan.

  • Trigger0 tasks
  • Each lead posted1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps
  • Premium appNo

The trigger never costs a task, whatever app it comes from, and checking for new data is free. An action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap stops at two steps: one trigger, one action. A form plus Post Lead fits. Add a filter, a second action or one of the two Lodasoft searches and it becomes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. The grid below says how often Zapier checks a polling trigger on each plan. It applies to the other app's trigger when that trigger is a polling one, never to Lodasoft, which has no trigger.

Connect

Connect your Lodasoft account in 3 steps

  1. 01

Find Lodasoft on the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. Type Lodasoft in the dialog, pick it from the results, then click Add connection.

  2. 02

    Sign in to Lodasoft

A new tab opens on Lodasoft. Sign in with the account that should receive the leads. You need an account on the app, plus write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  3. 03

    Grant Zapier access

Approve the access Zapier asks for. The connection then shows on the Apps page, and every Lodasoft step offers it in a dropdown, so you link the account once for all your Zaps.

First Zap

Your first Zap: send qualified form leads to Lodasoft

GoalEach new submission of your mortgage enquiry form goes through a filter, and the ones that meet your condition become leads in Lodasoft.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

From your Zapier dashboard, create a new Zap. The editor opens on an empty trigger card. Lodasoft cannot sit there, since it has no trigger, so your form tool takes the first slot.

  2. 02

    Set the form trigger

Pick your form tool and its new-submission event, connect the account, then run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent submissions, so you map on a real one.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, add a Filter step and fill its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value. A text rule on text, a number rule on numbers, or nothing passes.

  4. 04

    Add Post Lead

Choose Lodasoft and Post Lead, then your connection. Map the form answers into the lead fields, including First Time Home Buyer and Property Found if your form asks.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test each step and check the lead in Lodasoft. Then click Publish. The filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan; without it, the Zap fits the free one.

Actions

The Lodasoft action

Lodasoft gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Post Lead

Action

In Zapier“Lead posting to the Lodasoft system.”

Sends a new lead into Lodasoft from whatever the earlier step carried. Among its fields are a few mortgage questions, such as first-time home buyer, property found and planned unit development.

When to use it
enquiries start outside Lodasoft, on a form or a landing page, and should open there without retyping.
Watch out
none of its fields is marked as required, so a badly mapped Zap can post a nearly empty lead. Read the test result in Lodasoft before you publish.
Searches

The 2 Lodasoft searches

2 search steps look for data that already exists in Lodasoft, so a later step can use it.

A search step reads what already exists in Lodasoft and hands it to the steps after it. In the editor, searches sit at the bottom of the Action event list, under SEARCH. Lodasoft offers no find-or-create variant, so these two only ever read. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not what you expected.

1

Get Loan Purposes

Search

In Zapier“Retrieve a list of Loan Purposes and their corresponding ID.”

Returns the loan purposes Lodasoft knows, each paired with its ID, so a later step can work with the ID rather than a label typed by hand.

When to use it
a step further down needs a loan purpose as Lodasoft identifies it.
Watch out
what comes back is Lodasoft's reference list, not a lead. Run the test and read the result before you map one of its IDs into a later step.
2

Get Loan Types

Search

In Zapier“Retrieve a list of Loan Types and their corresponding ID.”

Works the same way for loan types: the list Lodasoft uses, each type with its matching ID, ready for the steps that follow.

When to use it
you want a Zap to refer to a loan type exactly as Lodasoft stores it, instead of guessing a value.
Watch out
like any search, it turns a two-step Zap into a multi-step one, which takes the Zap off the free plan.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap and skips the steps that relied on it. Switched on, the Zap carries on without the result.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
On apps that offer it, this box turns a search into a find-or-create. Lodasoft offers none, so it will not show on these two searches.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one, which is the default, stop the Zap, or pass all of them on at once.
When it breaks

When it breaks

Zapier attaches no help article of its own to Lodasoft, so what breaks here are the limits every Zap shares.

None of them is specific to Lodasoft. Each has a symptom you can spot: fewer leads than expected, or leads that never arrived. If a Zap does something these cards do not explain, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.

  • Past enquiries are not posted

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is published. Enquiries already sitting in your form tool stay there, and moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A bulk import held back

If the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back instead of posting every lead.
  • The same enquiry never runs twice

On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so the same submission does not start the Zap again and no lead is posted twice from it.

FAQ

Lodasoft Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the Lodasoft Zapier integration free?
Yes, as long as the Zap stays at two steps. Lodasoft is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan, which gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The free plan only builds two-step Zaps: a trigger from another app, then one action. A form submission posted as a lead through Post Lead fits exactly. Add a filter, a second action or one of the two loan searches, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a Lodasoft Zap use?
One task per lead actually posted, and nothing for the trigger. Whatever app starts the Zap, the trigger never costs a task, and neither do the checks Zapier runs for new data. A Zap with just Post Lead uses one task each time it goes through. A filter that stops a submission means the action never runs, so nothing is billed for it. A Post Lead step that fails is not counted either, but the lead does not reach Lodasoft.
03Is the Lodasoft integration real time?
It depends on the trigger app, since Lodasoft has no trigger of its own. Post Lead runs as soon as the Zap starts. If your form tool's trigger is instant, it calls Zapier the moment a submission arrives. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks on a timer set by your plan: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. That type belongs to the trigger app and cannot be changed in the editor.
04What does it take to connect Lodasoft to Zapier?
An account on Lodasoft and a Zapier account. The link starts on the Apps page with + Add connection, then a sign-in on Lodasoft in a new tab and an access approval. Leads are posted with your account's rights, so anything you do not own yourself needs write access first. Once linked, the same connection is offered to every Lodasoft step in every Zap, and you do not sign in again for each one.
05Why does a Lodasoft lead arrive almost empty?
Because Post Lead does not insist on any field. None of its fields is marked as required, so the step goes through even when the mapping is wrong or the form left answers blank. Run the test with a complete, real submission, open the result in Lodasoft, and fix the mapping before you publish. A filter on a key answer can also hold back incomplete enquiries, at the cost of a paid plan.
06What if the Lodasoft operation needed is not on Zapier?
Then it is not available on Zapier for now. Lodasoft offers exactly 3 operations there: 1 action, Post Lead, and 2 searches, Get Loan Purposes and Get Loan Types. There is no trigger, so nothing inside Lodasoft can start a Zap; no update action to change a lead afterwards; and no search that finds a lead or a loan file. Anything else, such as moving a lead forward or editing it, is done inside Lodasoft itself.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Lodasoft?
It comes down to criteria, not to a winner. First, availability: this page covers what Lodasoft publishes on Zapier, so check whether the other platforms offer it at all. Second, the shape of the workflow: a form plus Post Lead fits the free Zapier plan, while a search or a filter needs a paid one. Third, who will maintain it, and which tool your team already uses, because that often weighs as much as the operations list.
