What the Lead Identity Check Zapier integration is for
Lead Identity Check tells you how likely it is that a phone number, an email address or a postal address belongs to the name a lead gave you. On Zapier, that check becomes a step: a lead arrives in another app, the Zap sends its details to Lead Identity Check, and the answer is ready for the steps that follow.
Three results you can build around Verify a Lead. A check on every new lead: each entry from your form tool goes through the verification before anyone calls it, so nobody spends time on a number that does not match the name. A sorted pipeline: add a filter after the check and only the leads that pass go on to your CRM, the others stop there; that makes it a multi-step Zap, so a paid plan. A phone list you can trust a little more: the action also looks at whether the phone number has seen recent activity, which tells you if the line still seems to be in use.
What Zapier does not do for this app: there is no trigger, so Lead Identity Check can never start a Zap by itself. Another app always has to bring the lead in first. There is no search either, so a Zap cannot look up a past verification; each run checks again and counts again.
That also means the speed of the whole Zap depends on the trigger you choose in the other app. If you are still weighing tools, the n8n vs Zapier and Make vs Zapier comparisons are a good next read.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words explain any Zap. Here is each one in a single plain line.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Lead Identity Check has none, so another app always plays that role.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it starts: the step that writes, sends or checks something for you, like Verify a Lead.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by its app the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something already stored in an app so later steps can use it. Lead Identity Check has none.
What a Lead Identity Check Zap costs
Every successful Verify a Lead counts as one task. The trigger in the other app costs nothing, however often it fires.
- Lead Identity Check operations1 action, no trigger
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo
Each action that succeeds counts on its own: verify a lead, then create a contact, and that is two tasks per lead. A failed action is not counted. Lead Identity Check is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan, with 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but only two steps per Zap: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action after the check and you have a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below applies to the polling trigger of the other app, if that is what starts your Zap.
Connect Lead Identity Check to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your apps
Go to the Apps page of your Zapier account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Lead Identity Check account linked once, then reused by every step that verifies a lead.
- 02
Pick Lead Identity Check
Search for Lead Identity Check in the dialog, select it and click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Lead Identity Check side, where you identify yourself.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Sign in to Lead Identity Check in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. You need an account on the app, plus access to anything in it you do not own yourself and want the Zap to use.
Your first Lead Identity Check Zap
GoalVerify each new lead from your form, then pass only the ones that check out to your CRM.
- 01
Start with the form
Create a new Zap and pick your form tool, with its new-entry event, as the trigger. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent entries, so you work on a real one.
- 02
Add Verify a Lead
Add Lead Identity Check as the next step and choose Verify a Lead. Fill in Filter Name, then map the name, phone, email or address coming from the form.
- 03
Test the check
Run the test on that step once and read what came back. That answer is what the filter will look at, so make sure you understand it before going on.
- 04
Add the filter
Add a Filter step from the plus icon and set its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, and the value to compare with. The Zap is now multi-step.
- 05
Add the CRM and publish
Add your CRM with its create-contact action, map the fields, test it, then click Publish. Each verified lead costs one task, each contact created another.
The Lead Identity Check action on Zapier
Lead Identity Check gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Verify a Lead
ActionIn Zapier“Verifies the likelihood that the phone number, address, or email matches the entity name provided and that the phone number has seen recent activity.”
Sends a lead's name with a phone number, address or email to Lead Identity Check, which estimates how likely they belong together and whether the phone has seen recent activity.
When a Lead Identity Check Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to Lead Identity Check, so these are the general traps that hit a Zap built this way.
They come from how Zapier works, not from Lead Identity Check. When one does, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.
Old leads are never checked
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Leads collected before you published are not verified; running them through is a separate job.The Zap feeds itself
If a later step writes into the very place your trigger watches, the Zap sets itself off again and again, verifying the same leads and burning tasks.A big batch gets held back
When the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back. The same item does not start it twice
On a polling trigger, Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so one lead does not start the Zap twice. Sending it again by hand is another story: that is a new check.
