What the Leadsie Zapier integration does
Leadsie helps marketing agencies ask clients for access to their accounts, collect it and keep track of it, all through a single link the client opens. The Zapier integration listens for one moment: when a client has finished connecting. Zapier then passes that news to another app so the next step starts on its own.
Three results come from Client Connection Completed. A team that knows when to start: a message lands in your team chat as soon as access is granted, instead of someone refreshing Leadsie. An onboarding record: each completed connection can be logged as a row in a sheet, which gives you a running list of clients ready to go. A kickoff that triggers itself: the same event can create a task in your project tool, so the work item exists the minute access does.
Now the limits. Leadsie offers no action and no search on Zapier. A Zap cannot send a new access request, change one or look up a client in Leadsie. It also only reacts to what happens after the Zap is published, so clients who finished earlier never come through. Every Leadsie Zap begins in Leadsie and does its real work in another app.
Adding a filter or a search to a Zap makes it multi-step, and a multi-step Zap needs a paid Zapier plan. If you are still choosing a tool, see our Make vs Zapier comparison and our Zapier review.
Zapier words in one minute
A short list of Zapier terms runs through this page. Each in one plain line.
- Zap
- The automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap. Leadsie has one: Client Connection Completed, when a client finishes granting access.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started, such as posting a message. Leadsie has none, so every action happens in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's monthly allowance is a count of tasks.
- Polling vs instant
- Polling: Zapier checks an app on a timer. Instant: the app tells Zapier itself the moment the event happens, as Leadsie does.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the data that arrived meets a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
- Connection
- Your Leadsie account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step and every Zap that uses Leadsie.
What a Leadsie Zap costs
Client Connection Completed costs nothing, however many clients finish. Each action in the app that follows costs one task when it succeeds.
- Leadsie trigger0 tasks
- Each successful action1 task
- Failed actionNot counted
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo
The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps: the Leadsie trigger and one action. A chat message per completed client fits. Add a filter, or a second action such as a task after the message, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Leadsie is not a premium app. The interval grid below is for polling triggers; the Leadsie trigger is instant, so it fires straight away on every plan.
Connect Leadsie to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a Leadsie account, plus access to anything you do not own yourself but want the Zap to read.
- 02
Choose Leadsie
Type Leadsie in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Leadsie side so you can sign in to the account your agency uses.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to Leadsie in that tab and allow Zapier to reach the account. The connection appears on your Apps page, and every Client Connection Completed step you add later reuses it.
Your first Leadsie Zap
GoalTell your team in its chat the moment a client has finished granting access in Leadsie.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Start a new Zap, choose Leadsie as the app and Client Connection Completed as the event. Select the Leadsie connection you added in the section above.
- 02
Test with real completions
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent completed connections of the account, so you can build the message on a real client rather than on placeholder data.
- 03
Write the chat message
Add your team chat app and its send-message action. Pick the channel, then write the text and drop in the client details that came back from the test.
- 04
Add the kickoff task
Add your project tool and its create-task action, named after the client. This second action makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan and costs two tasks per client.
- 05
Test and publish
Run each action once and check both the message and the task. When they look right, click Publish to switch the Zap on for every client from now on.
The Leadsie trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Leadsie, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
Client Connection Completed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a client completes connecting their accounts.”
This trigger waits for the end of the access request: the point where a client has gone through your Leadsie link and connected their accounts. Zapier then receives the details of that completion and passes them to your next step.
When a Leadsie Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Leadsie and publishes no limit specific to the app. The failures below come from Zapier's general rules.
With a single instant trigger, problems are rare, but these four come up. If a Zap still misbehaves, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Earlier clients never appear
A Zap reacts only to what happens after it is switched on. Connections completed before publishing are not picked up, so handle them by hand. The Zap will not stay on the free plan
A second action or a filter turns the Zap multi-step. The free plan stops at two steps, so that Zap needs a paid plan.A rush of completions gets held back
If a large batch of events arrives at once, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back for a while. The filter never passes
Filter rules are typed: a text rule only works on text, a number rule only on numbers. Picking the wrong type stops every run.
