What the LinkTwin - Deep Link Shortener Zapier integration does
The LinkTwin - Deep Link Shortener Zapier integration connects LinkTwin, the tool that turns a URL into a short link able to open straight inside the right app, such as YouTube, Amazon or Spotify, to your other apps. It works through a Zap: an automation on Zapier made of one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Deep links made from a list. A new URL added to a spreadsheet or a form goes to Create Deep Link, and the short link it returns can be written back next to the original. A log of every link the team creates. New Link Created picks up each new deep link in your LinkTwin account and hands it to a sheet, so nobody has to export anything. Click numbers where you report. Get Link Statistics pulls the clicks of a given link over the date range you choose, ready for the next step to store.
Here is what Zapier does not do. It has no trigger for a link that gets edited or deleted, and none for a new click: the only event it watches is a link being created. Statistics have to be asked for, by a search step, one link at a time. And Delete Deep Link is final, with no undo. LinkTwin has no dedicated n8n or Make page on this site yet; before you pick a tool, the n8n vs Zapier comparison is worth your time.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words come back on every line of this page. Here they are in plain English, once.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something on your behalf.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task equals one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer for new items. An instant one is reported by the app the moment it happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something already stored in an app, so the steps after it can reuse what it found.
- Connection
- Your app account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that touches that app.
What a LinkTwin Zap really costs
LinkTwin is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. You pay in tasks, and the trigger costs nothing.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, two steps per Zap
- TriggerNever billed, however often Zapier checks
- ActionsOne task per link created, edited or deleted
- Search or filterMakes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan
New Link Created never uses a task, however often Zapier checks your account. Each action that succeeds counts one task: a link created, edited or deleted. A failed step counts nothing. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps. Find Link, Get Link Statistics or a filter turns the Zap into a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. Since the trigger is a polling one, the grid below sets how long a new link waits before Zapier notices it.
Connect your LinkTwin account in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In your Zapier account, go to the Apps page and click + Add connection. You need a LinkTwin account first, plus access to any links you do not own and want the Zap to touch.
- 02
Pick LinkTwin
Type LinkTwin in the search box of the dialog, select LinkTwin - Deep Link Shortener in the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the LinkTwin side.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Log in to LinkTwin in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is then offered in every step that uses LinkTwin, in this Zap and the next ones.
Your first Zap: a running log of new deep links
GoalEvery new deep link created in LinkTwin lands as a row in your spreadsheet, but only when it passes the rule you set in a filter.
- 01
Set the trigger
Create a new Zap, pick LinkTwin - Deep Link Shortener and New Link Created. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent links of the account, so you map on a real one.
- 02
Add a filter
Click the plus icon, add a Filter and set its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value to compare. This makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
- 03
Add the spreadsheet row
Pick your spreadsheet as the action app and its new-row event. Map the short link and the original URL from the LinkTwin test result into the matching columns.
- 04
Test, then publish
Run the action once and check the row in your sheet. If it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on for every link created from now on.
The LinkTwin trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in LinkTwin - Deep Link Shortener. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Link Created
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new deep link is created in your LinkTwin account.”
Starts the Zap each time a new deep link appears in your LinkTwin account, and passes the link details to the next steps.
The three LinkTwin actions
LinkTwin - Deep Link Shortener gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Deep Link
ActionIn Zapier“Turn any URL into a smart deep link that opens directly in the right app (YouTube, Amazon, Spotify & 100+ apps) or external browser.”
Hand it any web address and you get back a short link that takes people into the matching app, a Spotify track in Spotify for instance, or into the browser otherwise.
Delete Deep Link
ActionIn Zapier“Permanently delete a deep link from your LinkTwin account.”
Removes a deep link from your LinkTwin account for good, identified by its numeric ID or its short URL.
Update Deep Link
ActionIn Zapier“Update an existing deep link in your LinkTwin account.”
Edits a deep link that already exists in your account, pointed at by its Link ID or its full short URL.
The two LinkTwin searches
2 search steps look for data that already exists in LinkTwin - Deep Link Shortener, so a later step can use it.
A search step finds a link that already exists so the next actions know which one to work on. In the editor, searches sit at the bottom of the action list, under the SEARCH heading. Adding one makes the Zap multi-step.
Find Link
SearchIn Zapier“Find an existing deep link by ID, alias, URL, or title.”
Looks up an existing deep link by its ID, its alias, its URL or its title, and hands it to the next steps.
Get Link Statistics
SearchIn Zapier“Get click statistics and analytics for a specific deep link.”
Fetches the click statistics of one deep link, given by its ID or short URL, for the date range you set.
The three settings every search exposes
- Successful if no search results are found?Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap and skips the steps that relied on it. Switched on, the Zap carries on empty-handed.
- Create X if it doesn't exist yet? This box turns a search into a find-or-create. LinkTwin offers no such variant, so a missing link is never created by a search here.
- If multiple search results are found?Three ways out when several links match: keep the first, which is the default, stop the Zap, or pass all of them on at once.
When a LinkTwin Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to LinkTwin, so the cases below are the general limits that hit any Zap built on it.
None of them throws an error on day one. They show up later as a link that never reached your sheet or a task counter climbing too fast. When a run looks wrong, start with the Zapier troubleshooting page.
Existing links stay behind
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Links created before that are never picked up; listing them is a separate job.A Zap that creates its own trigger
New Link Created followed by Create Deep Link makes a new link, which starts the Zap again, and again, until your tasks run out.A bulk import held back
If a huge batch of links appears at once, after a bulk import for example, Zapier's flood protection can hold the batch back.No link counted twice
Zapier remembers which links the polling trigger has already seen, so the same link does not start the Zap a second time.
