Overview

What the LoanBot Zapier integration really does

LoanBot sits on the mortgage side of lending: people hunting for a home loan weigh their options there, and the platform passes them on to sponsors who come back with an offer. On Zapier it exposes one event, a new contact added in LoanBot. Zapier receives that contact and passes it to whatever tools you put after it. The flow only goes out of LoanBot.

Contacts in your CRM, untouched by hand. Each new contact from LoanBot becomes a record in your CRM, so follow-up starts from the tool your team already lives in, with no export and no copy-paste between two windows.

No waiting on a timer. New Contact is an instant trigger, so even on the free plan the contact moves on as soon as LoanBot reports it. That is the single most useful thing about this integration.

Only the contacts worth a call. A filter between the trigger and the next step lets through just the contacts that meet your condition; the others cost nothing, since a filter that stops a run isn't a task.

What Zapier doesn't do here: it can't put anything into LoanBot. There is no action, so no contact can be created or updated there from another app. It can't look up an existing contact either, since there is no search. If you need those moves, our n8n vs Zapier comparison helps you weigh the options before you build.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Eight terms you'll meet in the editor, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. For LoanBot, that event is a new contact being added.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes or sends something. LoanBot has none, so actions live in other apps.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's monthly count is a count of those.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself, calling Zapier the moment the event happens. New Contact works this way.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, keeping only what it hasn't seen yet. LoanBot doesn't use one.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action turns it into one, and it needs a paid plan.
Cost

What it really costs

LoanBot isn't a premium app, so it runs on the free plan. Zapier bills tasks, and a trigger is never one.

  • Premium appNo
  • Free plan100 tasks a month
  • Free plan Zap size2 steps
  • Cost of the trigger0 tasks

New Contact costs nothing. You pay for each action that succeeds in the next app; one that fails isn't counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps, one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan. The interval grid below is Zapier's rule for polling triggers: it doesn't apply to LoanBot's only trigger, which is instant.

Connect

Connect LoanBot to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. Have your LoanBot login ready, plus access to any contacts you don't own yourself but want the Zap to see.

  2. 02

    Pick LoanBot

Type LoanBot in the search box of the dialog, select it and click Add connection. A new tab opens on the LoanBot side, which is where you actually sign in.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to LoanBot in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. The connection then shows up in your list, ready for every Zap that starts from LoanBot.

First Zap

Your first Zap: LoanBot contacts into your CRM

GoalEvery new LoanBot contact that meets your condition becomes a CRM contact, ready for follow-up.

  1. 01

    Build: start with LoanBot

Start a new Zap, pick LoanBot as the app and New Contact as the event, then choose the LoanBot connection you added earlier.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent contacts of the account, so pick a real one to map the next steps from.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Add a Filter step from the plus icon and set its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value. Match the rule to the field type. This makes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan is needed.

  4. 04

    Add the CRM step

Choose your CRM and its create-contact action, then map the LoanBot values into the matching CRM fields. Test this step once and read what came back.

  5. 05

    Publish

Click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, each new LoanBot contact that passes the filter reaches your CRM as soon as LoanBot reports it.

Triggers

LoanBot trigger

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in LoanBot, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

New Contact

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new contact is added in LoanBot.”

Starts your Zap each time a new contact is added in LoanBot and hands that contact to the steps after it. It is the only way LoanBot can take part in a Zap, so every automation built on this app opens with it.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a new contact should reach your CRM, your sheet or your inbox before anyone thinks to open LoanBot.
Watch out
contacts added before the Zap is published never come through, only new ones.
When it breaks

When it breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to LoanBot, so the cases below come from how Zapier itself behaves.

Three situations explain most surprises with this integration. None of them shows while you build; they appear once the Zap runs on its own. For a step-by-step method, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • Older contacts stay behind

The Zap only reacts to contacts added after you publish it. Everyone already in LoanBot is ignored; moving that history is a separate job.
  • A Zap that keeps setting itself off

If a later step writes into the very place a trigger watches, the Zap fires again and again and burns through your task count fast.
  • Big batches held back

When the trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those contacts back.

FAQ

LoanBot Zapier integration: FAQ

01Is the LoanBot Zapier integration free?
Yes. LoanBot isn't a premium app, so it works on Zapier's free plan. That plan gives you 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps: New Contact as the trigger, then one action in another app, such as creating a contact in your CRM. As soon as you add a filter to keep only some contacts, or a second action, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. The trigger stays instant on every plan, free included.
02How many tasks does a LoanBot Zap use?
Only the actions that follow count. New Contact itself never costs a task. Each action that succeeds in the next app counts as one task, while a failed one isn't counted against your plan. A Zap that creates a CRM contact and then sends a notification uses two tasks per LoanBot contact. With three actions, every new contact costs three tasks. A filter that stops a contact before any action runs costs nothing for that contact.
03Does LoanBot send contacts to Zapier in real time?
Yes. New Contact is an instant trigger: LoanBot tells Zapier the moment a contact is added, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan. The interval grid that slows polling triggers on the free plan doesn't apply here. LoanBot itself decides this, and it can't be changed in the editor. You'll recognise it by the lightning bolt the editor shows on the trigger step once it is set up.
04What do you need to connect LoanBot?
A LoanBot account you can sign in to, plus access to any contacts you don't own but want the Zap to see. From the Apps page of Zapier, click + Add connection, search for LoanBot, click Add connection, sign in in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. The connection is saved once and reused by every Zap that starts from LoanBot, so a second Zap doesn't ask you to sign in again.
05Why are older LoanBot contacts missing from the CRM?
Because a Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Contacts that were already in LoanBot when you published are never sent, even though the trigger is instant. Only contacts added from that moment on flow through. When you test the trigger, Zapier does show the three most recent contacts, but that is for mapping fields, not for sending them. Bringing the older ones across is a separate job.
06What if the LoanBot operation you want isn't offered?
Then this integration can't do it. Zapier offers exactly one LoanBot operation, the New Contact trigger, with no action and no search. Nothing can be created or changed inside LoanBot from another app, and an existing contact can't be looked up later in a Zap. Check the LoanBot page on Zapier before planning around a missing step: the list there is the one the editor shows, and it is the reference to trust.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for LoanBot?
Decide by criteria, not by brand. On Zapier the integration is ready-made, free to start and covers one need well: getting new contacts out of LoanBot instantly. Make or n8n are worth a look if you need something this integration lacks, such as writing into LoanBot, but check on their side whether they connect to it at all. Then compare how runs are billed, whether your Zaps would turn multi-step anyway, and who maintains the automation.
