MAIA Router Zapier integrationAutomate MAIA Router with Zapier.
MAIA Router Zapier integration: 0 triggers, 5 actions, 3 searches. The actions ask AI models for text, speech, transcripts and videos; the searches fetch video results. With no trigger, another app starts the Zap. Here is the cost, the setup and the traps.

What the MAIA Router Zapier integration does
MAIA Router puts many AI models behind a single account, so you pick the model step by step instead of signing up everywhere. In Zapier, it becomes a set of steps you drop into a Zap (the automation you build on Zapier) to write text, turn text into speech, transcribe audio and produce videos.
Three results people build with it. Written copy from a spreadsheet: Create Chat Completion takes the columns of a row, such as a product name and a category, and returns a description you write back next to them. Meetings and voice notes in text: Create Audio Transcription turns an MP3, WAV or M4A file into a transcript, and Create Speech goes the other way, from text to audio. Videos from a brief: Create Video (Sora/Veo) starts a video job, Remix Video reworks an existing one, and the three searches bring back the status or the file.
Now the limits. MAIA Router has no trigger on Zapier, so it can never start a Zap: a spreadsheet, a form or another app always goes first. Nothing tells Zapier when a video is ready either; you ask with a search step. And there is no find-or-create variant on any of its searches.
This site has no MAIA Router page for Make or n8n yet. If you are comparing platforms anyway, see Make vs Zapier and n8n vs Zapier.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight Zapier terms run through this page. One plain line each, then the page uses them without a reminder.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. MAIA Router has none, so the trigger always comes from another app.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, like asking a model for a reply.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The count on your plan is a count of those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer; an instant trigger is reported by the app the moment it happens. It depends on the app that starts your Zap.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something that already exists, such as a video job, so the following steps can use what it found.
- Connection
- Your MAIA Router account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every MAIA Router step in every Zap.
What a MAIA Router Zap really costs
MAIA Router is not a premium app, so its steps are open on the free plan. On Zapier, the bill is counted in tasks.
- Trigger of the other app0 tasks
- Each successful MAIA Router action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps
- Premium appNo
The trigger of the other app costs nothing. Each MAIA Router action that succeeds costs one task, and a failed one is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, and two steps per Zap: a trigger plus one action. A Zap that writes the result back, adds a filter or uses a search step becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan, and most MAIA Router flows land there. The grid below is how often a polling trigger is checked: it applies to the app that starts your Zap, since MAIA Router has no trigger of its own.
Connect MAIA Router to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open Apps
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a MAIA Router account, plus access to anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
- 02
Select MAIA Router
Type MAIA Router in the dialog, pick it from the results and click Add connection. A new tab opens on the MAIA Router side, where you sign in with your usual account.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to MAIA Router in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. The connection joins your list, and every MAIA Router step of every Zap reuses it from then on.
First Zap: product descriptions written from your spreadsheet
GoalEach new product row in your spreadsheet gets a description written by the model you chose, saved in the same row next to the name and category.
- 01
Start from your spreadsheet
Create a Zap and pick your spreadsheet app with its new-row event as the trigger. Testing it brings back the three most recent rows, so you can work on a real product.
- 02
Add Create Chat Completion
Add MAIA Router as the next step and choose Create Chat Completion. Pick a model in the required Model field, or type one, such as maia/gemini-2.5-flash.
- 03
Write the prompt with mapped columns
In the required Prompt field, write the instruction and insert the product name and category from the row. Mapped fields may show as odd tokens; keep them intact.
- 04
Write the answer back
Add the spreadsheet again, update the same row and map the model's reply into the description column. This third step makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
- 05
Test, then publish
Run each step once and read what came back. When the description sits in the right row, click Publish, and every new product gets its text.
MAIA Router actions
MAIA Router gives you 5 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Chat Completion
ActionIn Zapier“Send a chat prompt and get a response. Optionally set a system message (assistant role/persona).”
Sends your instruction to the model you pick and hands back its reply, with an optional system message to give the assistant a role.
Create Speech
ActionIn Zapier“Convert text into natural-sounding speech audio.”
Turns a piece of text into spoken audio with a natural-sounding voice, for when reading is not the best way to get a message across.
Create Audio Transcription
ActionIn Zapier“Create a text transcription from an audio file.”
Reads an audio file and returns its text, so a recording becomes something you can search, store or summarise.
Create Video (Sora/Veo)
ActionIn Zapier“Create a video job using Sora or Veo. For Sora, poll with Get Video and fetch bytes via Get Video Content (Sora). For Veo, poll with Get Veo Result to obtain a direct URL — no extra download action needed.”
Starts a video generation job on Sora or Veo from a text description of the video you want.
Remix Video
ActionIn Zapier“Create a remix of an existing video using a new prompt.”
Produces a new version of an existing video from a fresh instruction, instead of starting from scratch.
MAIA Router searches
3 search steps look for data that already exists in MAIA Router, so a later step can use it.
A search step looks something up and passes it on. Here, the three searches all deal with video jobs: they sit at the bottom of the action-event list, under SEARCH. Adding one makes the Zap multi-step.
Get Veo Result
SearchIn Zapier“Poll a Veo long-running operation and return the direct download URL when ready.”
Checks on a Veo video job and, once it is ready, returns a direct download link, with no extra download step needed.
Get Video (Sora)
SearchIn Zapier“Retrieve OpenAI Sora video job status by ID. For Veo, use Get Veo Result.”
Looks up a Sora video job by its ID and tells the Zap where that job stands.
Get Video Content (Sora)
SearchIn Zapier“Download the generated video content by Sora video ID. For Veo, use Get Veo Result to obtain a direct URL.”
Downloads the finished video file of a Sora job, so the next step can store or send the actual file.
The three settings every search exposes
- Successful if no search results are found?Left as is, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and skips the steps that depended on it. Switched on, the Zap carries on empty-handed.
- Create X if it doesn't exist yet? This box turns a search into a find-or-create. None of the three MAIA Router searches has that variant, so it does not concern this app.
- If multiple search results are found?Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one, which is the default, stop the Zap, or hand all of them on at once.
When a MAIA Router Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to MAIA Router, and the app page lists no limit of its own. The cases below come from how Zapier works, applied to this app.
Four situations account for most surprises. Knowing them before you publish saves a long search, and for the rest, go to the Zapier troubleshooting page.
The answer restarts the Zap
Writing the model's reply into the very place your trigger watches sets the Zap off again and again, and the task count drops fast.A search that finds nothing stops all
By default, a video search that returns nothing stops the Zap and skips the steps after it, unless you switch on the setting that lets it continue.Old rows or files are ignored
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Rows, forms or files that existed before are not processed, and that backlog is a separate job.A bulk import is held back
When the starting app suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the Zap back.
