Maropost Marketing Cloud Zapier integrationAutomate Maropost Marketing Cloud with Zapier.
Maropost Marketing Cloud Zapier integration: 6 triggers, 6 actions, 3 searches. Maropost runs your contacts, lists and tags. Zapier connects it to the rest of your stack, so a tag, an unsubscribe or an order moves on without a CSV export.

What the Maropost Marketing Cloud Zapier integration does
Maropost Marketing Cloud is a multi-channel marketing platform. Linked to Zapier, its contact events (a new record, an update, a tag, a list change) can start work in your other tools, and those tools can tag contacts, subscribe them, update their fields or log orders in Maropost. All six triggers are instant.
Three outcomes people build first. Segments that tag themselves: When Contact Record Is Created starts the Zap, a filter checks a field, and Add a Contact Tag to a Contact puts the new contact in the right bucket without anyone sorting by hand. A clean record of who left: When a Contact Is Unsubscribed From a List sends each opt-out to a sheet, so your reporting keeps a line for every person who left. Orders tied to the right contact: Create a Sales Order for a Contact logs a purchase from another system against an email, and Update Sales Order by Original Order Id changes its status later.
What Zapier does not do here: it does not send a campaign, does not unsubscribe anyone and does not delete a contact. The only removal is Remove a Contact Tag From a Contact. The three searches find contacts and orders but never create them when nothing matches.

Zapier words, in plain English
Eight terms carry this whole page. Here is each one, once.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap. With Maropost, a contact created or updated, a tag added or removed, a list joined or left.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in an app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully; your plan counts those.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself: it calls Zapier when the event happens, with no timed check. All six Maropost triggers are instant.
- Polling trigger
- The other kind: Zapier asks the app on a timer and keeps only what it has not seen. Maropost has none here.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something already in an app, so the steps after it can use what it found.
What Maropost on Zapier costs you
Maropost Marketing Cloud is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. Zapier bills in tasks, and only successful actions count.
- Trigger0 task, always
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, Zaps of two steps
- Premium appNo
The trigger itself never costs a task. Each action that goes through costs one, so a Zap that tags a contact and then subscribes it to lists uses two. A failed action is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps; a filter, a search or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below concerns polling triggers only and does not apply to the six instant Maropost triggers.
Connect Maropost Marketing Cloud to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
Have your Maropost account ready. In Zapier, open the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Maropost account linked once, then reused by every Zap that uses it.
- 02
Pick Maropost Marketing Cloud
Type Maropost in the search box of the dialog, select Maropost Marketing Cloud, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Maropost side for the next step.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Log in to Maropost in that tab and grant Zapier access. If the lists or contacts you want to touch belong to an account you do not own, get read or write rights on it first.
Your first Zap: tag new contacts automatically
GoalEach new Maropost contact record that passes your filter gets a tag, so it lands in the right segment.
- 01
Start with the new record
Create a Zap, pick Maropost Marketing Cloud as the app that starts it and When Contact Record Is Created as the event. Choose your connection and fill the required Email setting.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the account, so you build the next steps on a real contact rather than a guess.
- 03
Add the filter
Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value. A text rule works on text only, a number rule on numbers only.
- 04
Tag the contact
Add Add a Contact Tag to a Contact. Map the contact's email from step one and type a Tag Name that already exists in Maropost.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test each step once and read what came back. Then click Publish. With a filter inside, this Zap is multi-step and needs a paid plan.
The 6 Maropost Marketing Cloud triggers
6 events start a Zap when something happens in Maropost Marketing Cloud, and 6 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
When Contact Tag Is Removed From Contact Record
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when Contact Tag is removed from contact record.”
Fires when a tag comes off a contact in Maropost. When a tag stands for a stage or an interest in your setup, losing it is a signal worth passing on to the tool that acts on it.
When Contact Tag Is Added to Contact Record
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when Contact Tag is added to contact record.”
The mirror of the previous one: the Zap starts when a contact gains a tag. A tag set in Maropost can then open work elsewhere.
When a Contact Is Unsubscribed From a List
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a contact is unsubscribed from a list.”
Reports each opt-out from a Maropost list to Zapier. That is the event to copy anywhere you keep consent or reporting outside Maropost.
When a Contact Is Subscribed to a List
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when contact is created.”
Starts the Zap around a subscription to a Maropost list. Its official description talks about a contact being created, so the exact moment it fires is best confirmed on a test.
When Contact Record Is Created
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when Contact record is created.”
A brand-new contact record in Maropost, whatever list it sits in, is what this one waits for. It is the broad entry point for anything that should follow a new contact.
When Contact Record Is Updated
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when Contact record is updated.”
An existing contact record that changes sets this Zap off. It is how a field edited in Maropost reaches the tools that hold a copy of that contact.
The 6 Maropost Marketing Cloud actions
Maropost Marketing Cloud gives you 6 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Add a Contact Tag to a Contact
ActionIn Zapier“Add a Contact Tag to a contact.”
Puts a tag on a contact, found by email, so segments and automations in Maropost can pick it up.
Create a Sales Order for a Contact
ActionIn Zapier“Creates order for a contact.”
Logs an order in Maropost against a contact's email, from a purchase recorded in another system.
Remove a Contact Tag From a Contact
ActionIn Zapier“Remove a Contact Tag from a contact.”
Takes a tag off a contact found by email, the only removal this integration offers.
Subscribe Contact to Multiple List
ActionIn Zapier“Subscribe contact to multiple list.”
Adds one contact to several Maropost lists in a single step, instead of one action per list.
Update Sales Order by Original Order Id
ActionIn Zapier“Update sales order by original order id.”
Changes an existing Maropost order, located by its original order id, when its status moves.
Update the Standard and Custom Fields of a Contact
ActionIn Zapier“Update the standard and custom fields of a contact.”
Writes new values into a contact's standard and custom fields, located by email.
The 3 Maropost Marketing Cloud searches
3 search steps look for data that already exists in Maropost Marketing Cloud, so a later step can use it.
A search step finds something already in Maropost and hands it to the steps that follow. In the editor, searches sit at the bottom of the Action event list, under SEARCH. Adding one makes the Zap multi-step.
Find a Contact by Email Address
SearchIn Zapier“Use to find contact by email Id.”
Looks up a Maropost contact from an email address that an earlier step carried.
Find a Contact by Its Unique Identifier Value
SearchIn Zapier“Find a contact by its unique identifier value.”
Finds a contact from its Maropost unique identifier rather than its email.
Search Order by Original Order ID
SearchIn Zapier“Search order by Original Order ID.”
Finds an order in Maropost from the original order id that came from your sales system.
The three settings every search exposes
- Successful if no search results are found?Left as is, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and skips the steps that depend on it. Switched on, the Zap carries on empty-handed.
- Create X if it doesn't exist yet? This box turns a search into a find-or-create. Maropost exposes no find-or-create variant, so none of its three searches can create what is missing.
- If multiple search results are found?Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one (the default), stop the Zap, or pass all of them on at once.
When the Maropost Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Maropost Marketing Cloud and no app-specific limit is on record, so the known traps are the general ones.
Read these before you publish. If a Zap already misbehaves, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Existing contacts are never picked up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Contacts, tags and orders already in Maropost stay put; moving them is a separate job.A Zap that sets itself off
A Zap that writes into the very place its trigger watches can start itself again and again, like tagging on a tag trigger. Keep the two apart.A sudden flood held back
If a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.A search that finds nothing
By default an empty search stops the Zap and skips the steps after it. If you want the Zap to go on, change that setting before publishing.
