Mattermix Zapier integrationAutomate Mattermix with Zapier.
The Mattermix Zapier integration has 0 triggers, 1 action and 0 searches. Something happens in another app, and Mattermix turns the HTML you pass it into a new image. One action, one job, and every Zap starts somewhere else.

What the Mattermix Zapier integration does for you
Mattermix automates image creation, with a drag-and-drop design editor on one side and automation on the other. Connected to Zapier, it does one thing: build a new image from HTML, the markup that describes what goes where, each time an event happens in another app you use.
With a single action, Create Image, the useful outcomes differ by what feeds the HTML. Three that make sense: a visual per spreadsheet row, where each new line with a title and a figure becomes its own image; a visual per form answer, where what someone typed lands inside a ready layout; and a visual per published post, where the title of a new article is set inside a banner.
Here is what Zapier does not do for Mattermix. There is no trigger, so nothing in Mattermix can start a Zap. There is no search, so a Zap cannot look up an image made earlier. And there is no step to edit or delete an image: Create Image only adds new ones. Whatever the HTML says is what you get, so the quality of the image depends on the HTML you map in. This is the integration as read on 9 October 2026.

Zapier words, in plain English
Eight terms you will see in the editor. One line each.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger first, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Mattermix has none on Zapier, so the trigger always comes from another app.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something. Mattermix offers one, Create Image.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completed successfully. Your plan counts those and nothing else.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by its app the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something that already exists in an app so later steps can use it. Mattermix offers none on Zapier.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter, a search or a second action makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Mattermix Zap really costs
Mattermix is not a premium app on Zapier, so it works on the free plan. Each image that gets created is what you pay for.
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Create Image1 task per image created
- Second action or filterMulti-step Zap, paid plan
The trigger in the other app never costs a task. Each Create Image step that succeeds counts as one task; one that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps. A Zap that creates the image and then posts it somewhere has two actions, so it is multi-step and needs a paid plan. The interval grid below concerns the other app's trigger, and only when it is a polling one.
Connect Mattermix to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. A connection is your Mattermix account linked once, then reused by every Zap step that creates an image.
- 02
Pick Mattermix
Search for Mattermix in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need an existing Mattermix account at this point; Zapier links to it and does not open one for you.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Sign in to Mattermix in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. If the account belongs to someone else on your team, make sure yours has write access, since every Zap adds images to it.
Your first Zap: one image per new spreadsheet row
GoalEach time a row is added to your sheet, create a Mattermix image from that row's values and keep a copy in your cloud storage, so nobody rebuilds the visual by hand.
- 01
Create the Zap and set the trigger
Start a new Zap and pick your spreadsheet tool as the app that starts it, with its new-row event. Mattermix cannot start a Zap, so the trigger always lives elsewhere.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent rows of the connected sheet, so you build the image on real values rather than placeholders.
- 03
Add Create Image
Add Mattermix with Create Image. In the required HTML field, write your layout and drop the row's values into it from the test data.
- 04
Test and read the result
Test the step and read what Mattermix sends back. Check whether a link or a file of the image comes back, since that is what the next step can use.
- 05
Store the image and publish
Add the upload step of your storage tool with what came back, test it, then click Publish. With two actions this Zap needs a paid plan; the free plan stops after Create Image.
The Mattermix action on Zapier
Mattermix gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Image
ActionIn Zapier“Create a new image from HTML.”
Builds a brand-new image from the HTML you give it, so a layout plus a few values from the trigger becomes a finished visual.
When a Mattermix Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Mattermix and lists no limit specific to the app. The usual failures come from how Zapier works and from the HTML field.
These are the general limits to keep in mind. For a method to unblock a stuck Zap, see our Zapier troubleshooting page.
Old rows never get an image
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Rows or entries that already existed are not picked up; making images for that backlog is a separate job.The HTML field is empty
Create Image needs HTML, and the values you drop into it come from the trigger. Check in the trigger test that each one actually carries something before you publish.A loop through the starting app
As a general precaution, a Zap that writes where its own trigger looks can set itself off again. Sending the image back to the app that starts the Zap is the case to check.A big import gets held back
If the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import for instance, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.
