Overview

What the MyDocSafe Zapier integration does

MyDocSafe is electronic signature software that puts document security and compliance first. On Zapier it works in one direction: an event in MyDocSafe, a signed document, a won proposal or a submitted form, starts a Zap that carries the news into your other apps. Nothing is written back into MyDocSafe.

Three outcomes cover what you can build. A signature register that fills itself. Sign Completed fires and a spreadsheet gets a new row, so you always know which document was signed. A sales pipeline that hears about every proposal. Proposal Won and Proposal Lost can add a line to the sheet or the tool your team tracks deals in. Form answers that land where they are needed. Form Submission passes each answer of a chosen MyDocSafe form on to the next app.

Now what the app page does not spell out. MyDocSafe has no action on Zapier: a Zap cannot send a document for signature, create a proposal or add anything to MyDocSafe. There is no search either, so a Zap cannot look up an existing document. The good news is on the trigger side: all eight are instant triggers, so a Zap starts right after the event, even on the free plan, with no waiting for a check.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words come back on this page. Here they are once, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap, such as a completed signature in MyDocSafe. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, here always in another app.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. Each action that completes successfully counts as one task against your plan.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports to Zapier itself the moment the event happens. A polling trigger, by contrast, is checked on a timer.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a MyDocSafe Zap really costs

MyDocSafe is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan. Zapier bills in tasks, and the MyDocSafe trigger never spends one.

  • MyDocSafe trigger0 tasks
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Premium appNo

The trigger is free; only the action that follows, in another app, counts as one task each time it succeeds, and a failed one counts as nothing. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Zapier publishes the interval grid below for polling triggers; it does not apply to MyDocSafe, whose eight triggers are all instant.

Connect

Connect MyDocSafe to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a MyDocSafe account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Pick MyDocSafe

Search for MyDocSafe in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the MyDocSafe side, which is where you actually sign in.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to MyDocSafe in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. All eight triggers then reuse this connection in every Zap, so you set it up once.

First Zap

Your first Zap: a register of signed documents

GoalEach completed signature in MyDocSafe that passes your filter adds a row to a spreadsheet, giving you a register of signed documents outside the app.

  1. 01

    Set the trigger

Create a Zap, choose MyDocSafe and Sign Completed, then your connection. Pick the Company, which is required. The editor shows a lightning bolt: this trigger is instant.

  2. 02

    Test it on real signatures

Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you map fields on a real signed document rather than a guess.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Add a Filter step from the plus icon and set the field, the rule and the value. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so this step needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add the spreadsheet action

Pick your spreadsheet app and its action to add a row, then place the values of the signature that came back from the test into the right columns.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test the action once and read what came back before going further. Then publish the Zap to switch it on; only signatures completed afterwards are logged.

Triggers

MyDocSafe triggers on Zapier

8 events start a Zap when something happens in MyDocSafe, and 8 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Form Submission

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a from of that company is submitted.”

Starts the Zap whenever someone submits one of your MyDocSafe forms, so each answer can go straight to the app that needs it.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a client fills in an intake form in MyDocSafe and the details should reach a spreadsheet or your contact list.
Watch out
Company and Form are both required; check during the test that the answers are the ones you expect.
2

Proposal Lost

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a proposal is lost.”

Fires when a proposal in MyDocSafe is marked as lost, giving you a hook to close the loop on a deal that did not go through.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
the sales tool or the reporting sheet your team reads should record lost proposals without anyone copying them by hand.
Watch out
Company is required; proposals that were lost before the Zap was published are not picked up.
3

Proposal Sent

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a proposal is sent.”

Reacts each time a proposal leaves MyDocSafe for its recipient, the natural start for a follow-up reminder.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
you want a task created in your to-do tool, or a note posted to the team, whenever a proposal goes out.
Watch out
Company is required; check during the test that the proposals coming back are the ones you expect.
4

Proposal Started

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a proposal is started.”

Signals that a new proposal has been started in MyDocSafe, before it is even sent.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a manager wants to see proposals in progress in a shared sheet or channel, not only the finished ones.
Watch out
if only some proposals matter, a filter can hold the others back, and a filter needs a paid plan.
5

Proposal Won

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a proposal is won.”

Kicks off a Zap when a MyDocSafe proposal is won, a result worth passing on to the rest of the team.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a won proposal should open onboarding work, post a message to the team or land in a revenue sheet.
Watch out
Company is required; run the test after a real win so the mapping uses a real proposal.
6

Sign Completed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a document sign is completed.”

Runs your Zap as soon as a document signature is completed in MyDocSafe, so the signed paperwork can move on.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a signed contract should be recorded in a register, announced to the team or followed by a task for the next step.
Watch out
Company is required, and signatures completed before publishing are not sent; moving that backlog is a separate job.
7

Sign Rejected

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a document signature is rejected.”

Fires when someone rejects a document signature in MyDocSafe, so a refusal does not sit unnoticed in the app.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
the person who sent the document should get a message in the tool they read every day, or a task to call back.
Watch out
Company is required; check on the test what information about the rejection actually comes back before mapping it.
8

Sign Request Sent

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a document sign request is sent.”

Picks up each signature request sent from MyDocSafe and hands it to the next steps of your Zap.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
you track documents out for signature in a sheet or a project tool and want each new request listed there.
Watch out
Company is required; confirm on the test that the requests coming back are the ones you expect.
When it breaks

When a MyDocSafe Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to MyDocSafe and documents no limit specific to the app. The cases below come from the general rules every Zap follows.

Four of them matter for a Zap that reacts to documents. If one shows up, our Zapier troubleshooting guide is the next stop.

  • Past documents are not picked up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Signatures, proposals or form answers that already existed are not sent; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

As a general precaution: a Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and burns through tasks fast.
  • A big batch gets held back

If a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back.
  • A filter that never passes

Filter rules are typed: a text rule only works on text, a number rule only on numbers. Picking the wrong type is why a filter never lets anything through.

FAQ

MyDocSafe Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the MyDocSafe Zapier integration free?
Yes. MyDocSafe is not a premium app, so its eight triggers work on the free plan. That plan gives 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. A Zap that starts on Sign Completed and adds a row to a spreadsheet fits inside that. Add a filter, for example to keep only some documents, or a second action, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a MyDocSafe Zap use?
None for the MyDocSafe part, since triggers never cost a task. What counts is the action in the other app: one task each time it completes successfully, nothing when it fails. A Zap that logs every completed signature spends one task per signature. If you chain two actions, say a spreadsheet row and a team message, each successful one counts on its own, so the same signature costs two tasks. With 100 tasks a month on the free plan, that adds up.
03Is the MyDocSafe integration real time?
Yes, and that is its strong point. All eight MyDocSafe triggers are instant: MyDocSafe tells Zapier itself when the event happens, so the Zap starts right away, on any plan, free included. The interval grid Zapier publishes for its plans concerns polling triggers only and does not apply here. In the editor, a lightning bolt marks an instant trigger, so you can confirm it before publishing. The type of a trigger is set by the app itself and cannot be changed from the editor.
04What do you need to connect MyDocSafe to Zapier?
A MyDocSafe account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. Then three moves: open the Apps page of your Zapier account and click + Add connection, search for MyDocSafe and click Add connection, then sign in to MyDocSafe in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. The same connection serves all eight triggers in every Zap you build, so a second or third Zap on the same account needs no new setup.
05Why does every MyDocSafe trigger ask for a Company?
Because Company is a required field on all eight triggers, so no MyDocSafe trigger can be set up without picking one. Form Submission goes one step further and also requires a Form. Then run the test and read the three items it brings back before mapping anything into the next step. If you only care about part of what arrives, a filter can narrow it, but a filter makes the Zap multi-step and needs a paid plan.
06What if the MyDocSafe operation you want is missing?
Then it is not offered on Zapier for now. MyDocSafe has eight triggers and no action or search, so a Zap cannot send a document for signature, create a proposal or look up an existing one. The MyDocSafe page on Zapier shows the current list of operations, and that is the place to check before planning around a step. Anything that has to happen inside MyDocSafe stays a job done in MyDocSafe itself.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for MyDocSafe?
Pick on criteria, not on a ranking. Coverage: on Zapier, MyDocSafe offers eight triggers and nothing else, so first check whether the other platform lists MyDocSafe and with which steps. Speed: every MyDocSafe trigger on Zapier is instant, so the polling interval of a plan does not apply to it. Cost: on Zapier, you pay for the actions that follow each event, one task per success. Weigh those three against the volume of documents you handle.
